Cascade Dental 4th Plain

Never thought I would rave about a trip to the dentist where I got two filings, but here I am doing just that. Dr. Steve and Renae made it as good as it gets. I am one of those who has been very cynical about reviews that talk about painless dental work. That said, this was – thanks to a free and liberal dose of nitrous – thanks Cascade Dental!
I am new to the area and so thankful that I found this practice. They are friendly, efficient and wonderful. I am going back in March for a crown and not dreading it a bit. Best dental practice I have ever experienced.

Dr. Steve did a great job for my wisdom teeth extraction. When I was suggested I should remove 4 teeth at the same time, my mom freaked out because she thought it’s dangerous. I also concerned my age (I’m 30) for recovering after the surgery damage. But Cascade dental cares my pain and medication well, so I didn’t have awful struggle moment during and after surgery. My husband was right next to me during the surgery. He was jerous on me because my surgery was faster and smoother than his surgery (He did it a couple years ago at another dentist.) So far, I’m recovering without any problem. And it was reasonable price for the no insurance patients. I highly recommended here to people who need the wisdom teeth extraction in future!

Seemed to have a pretty great experience here. Made an appointment online, came in for an evaluation of my partner’s teeth –he’s afraid of detists.
Diagnosis with x rays was less than $ 20 without insurance, and we received all the info we needed to get the dental problems under control.
They also have their own in-​house dental care program (like insurance) which we will be taking advantage of also!

One creepy thing: they have a display of religious booklets and publications.
We weren’t all that thrilled to see something as inappropriate as that in a medical facility.

Dr. Steve is one of the more capable dentists I’ve ever had. He has been my Dentist for about 9 years now. He loves what he does and it shows. He is always friendly and social when I arrive for any type of work on my mouth.
Dr. Steve has professional assistants that are always pleasant and know what to do for prep prior to his arrival for any work on my teeth.
The Office Staff is always smiling, appear hardworking and diligent in discussing the costs and paperwork that may be required.

I have had multiple dentists in my life, staying on top of dental hygiene is very important.
The Dentist: Dr. Steven M. Hopmann was one of the more capable dentists I’ve worked with, executing his delivery with precision and accuracy, putting me in very little pain. He is on target; he checks and rechecks his X-​rays, making sure he’s sending the bad nerve away, reaching into the canal, cleaning out the decay, in order to reach the apex, to the root of the tooth, so there will be little chance (you have to return) for a future infection.
The Assistants: Dr. Steven M. Hopmann’s assistants know how to use the tools, applying the software to find the optimal margins when setting the tooth in preparation for the crown.
The assistants also helped me with a headset and nitrous for taking off a little of the nervousness.
The Office Staff: The staff is hardworking and diligent. Not easy to do while having to still remain friendly to a sometimes grumpy public.
The Costs: I was told upfront about the costs involved, and the billing person helped to work out a payment plan. It was all forthcoming and fair.
Ambiance: The lobby is very welcoming and the fish tank and fireplace are nice. Nice touches. If you have to bring someone along, you will also find an accommodation of tea and coffee.
In Summary: Here’s the best part: the doctor was on time. Do you have any idea how rare that is? Rather than having to often wait, 30 and 40 minutes because the doctor works inefficiently? Well, if you have experienced long waits as I have, it’s typically due to the office overbooking (or, as I mentioned, an incompetent practitioner.)
Overall, no complaints, good dentist, competent staff, forthcoming concerning costs, payment plan, cozy atmosphere, and, «hands-​of-​gold» for Dr. Hopmann.

These people are awful. The staff was really nice until I started asking questions, «Dr. Steve» did NOT do a good job, and tried to use his mistakes to create more business. They were deceptive about describing how much procedures would cost, and it has taken a LOT of time and expense to repair the damage done by these people.
The first reviewer is probably pretty lucky she changed offices when she moved all the way across the river.

«Oh, Dr. Hopmann did a filling for me last year, and it took over 6 months to stop hurting. That’s just a part of dentistry, sometimes it takes awhile for the nerves to heal.»
«How weird! It usually takes 6 months after a botched filling for the main part of the nerve to die? It stops hurting after that? Oh, but I’m sure he did a better job on your teeth for free than he did for us charging over $ 200 a filling.»
«How much does it cost for a root canal and a crown?»

“Oh? Well that’s not too bad. Both procedures for under $ 2k, I can live with that. Would you put that in writing?”
«No, that’s $ 1750 for the root canal and $ 1750 for the crown.»
«Then why didn’t you say $ 3500?! How much will the whole thing cost all together, with all of the additional procedures that are normally used?»
«You didn’t ask for the total bill estimate. We don’t know what will be needed for your root canal, so we can’t provide an estimate.»
«How much does it USUALLY cost people? No, wait, what is the smallest our bill could be, assuming you do all of the necessary procedures involved in a root canal, and a crown, without leaving out any of the normal additional things that are done with every client who has one of those?»
«I’ll have to get back to you on that. I… umm… I don’t have time to figure that out right now.»
The best part was dealing with their rude, but apparently dumb, finance manager who actually told me «Dentistry is NOT a science! Sometimes there is just no way to tell what is going to happen!»
Dentistry IS a science. You should probably be aware of that if you work in the field. You could look it up on the computer. You were using it for Facebook, so I’m pretty sure it gets Google, too.

Everyone was professional and courteous. We were there for a consult and it
was more thorough than any I have ever had. The technology there is cutting
edge. Dr. Bob was very educational and up front about what we want versus
what is essential for our future dental health. Using digital photography, he was
able to show and tell in a easy to understand way. I learned a lot about
preferred hygiene products on the market and his concern about teeth that in
the future have to monitored carefully. I went in for a consult only. However, I
will be using his services in the near future.

I am still sad that Dr. Steven M. Hopmann is not my dentist anymore. He’s the best dentist I’ve ever had. The whole staff at this office is incredible: From the front desk, to the hygienists and dental assistants; everyone is caring, cheerful and helpful; plus they won’t bore you tears with inane chat, which is one of the things I miss (among many others) Dr Hopmann’s chats :) Exceptional care from an exceptional practice.
