Elite Muscular Therapy

I’ve had massages before and every time I’ve gotten one, it was total crap. I would always leave feeling like the therapist made the «usual rounds» and would give each body part the same amount of attention as they would on any other average person, which shouldn’t be the case because each person has problem areas. It made me so skeptical about getting one again, but this time I chose a place that really looked like they were less interested in fancy oils and hot rocks and more focused on what the customer needed. That is exactly what I got!
My massage therapist was Susan and she was so incredibly awesome. She made me feel comfortable and really got a good feel for what I was looking for in this experience before we started and gave me some great take home suggestions for the recurring knots I have in my back, which are incredibly painful on a day to day basis. Finally I was able to leave a massage feeling like a difference was made in my tired, sore muscles. We’re moving up to this area very soon and I will absolutely be making another appointment after that and will probably start having massages done here regularly.
I also want to add that my massage was really well priced. When I realized that my husband booked my massage for 90 minutes instead of 60, I was a little skeptical about what my total would look like, but the total ended up being surprisingly reasonable!

I’ve been receiving massages at Elite Muscular Therapy for over 20 years, and on a regular monthly basis for the past several years. The reception area has a very zen feel when you first walk in and the staff are all friendly and helpful. I have my personal favorite therapist there, but I’ve had wonderful massages from each of them and have always felt renewed after each one. Although I’ve also had massages other places over the years, Elite Muscular Therapy is my clear favorite and my ‘home’ for massage.

The Second I walk through the doors at Elite Muscular Therapy I start to relax. The front area is clean and comfortable with a nice spiritual vibe. The staff is courteous and professional. Truly the best massage I’ve had in my life!
Before I came to Elite Muscular Therapy I used to get massages once year, now I get them every two weeks. I thought they were a rip off because I always felt like I still needed a massage after I was done with my massage. A good massage is a combination of strength and knowledge. Strength to be able to give the massage and knowledge to know how to give the massage. They have the skills!

I bought a deep tissue massage. The massage therapist told me that since I have fibromyalgia I shouldn’t do that kind of massage (even though I have been having those for 10 years). I told her I wanted that anyway. She proceeded to give me a 90-​minute-​NOT-​deep-​tissue massage and told me her life story, including how she is fueding with a neighbor, and that she is still in therapy from breaking her back. Once I heard the broken-​back thing, I can see why she didn’t WANT to give me a deep tissue massage. She still CHARGED me for one, of course. I should have complained…

I bought my partner a massage here, he said it was the worst massage ever!
The therapist broke contact and left the massage in the middle to go do something in the office…
When I came to pay I brought this up and she then proceeded to argue with me that she does it all the time and she is a great therapist and my partner was in the wrong. She still charged me $ 65.00 too, even tho he complained that she was pushing on bones and gave an awful massage.
1. dont argue with a paying customer.
2. I was a massage therapist for 10 years and I NEVER left in the middle of a massage to do something else.
apparently by her own words, she does this all the time.

This place was great. They were able to get me an appointment right away. Carl was a great therapist. When I went in, I had a lot of shoulder and back pain from tension and overuse. When I left, I was pain free and really relaxed. I was able to take a pain free nap afterwards. They are very knowledgeable and skilled.

I would go along with all the comments about how excellent this massage business is. It’s like a mini-​retreat in a nice building, very professional, close to meals afterward, and reasonably priced. Donna is caring and knowledgeable, as the rest of the staff seem to be as well. I generally get a 30-​minute massage, and at $ 35 that is so reasonable for one’s health. I use massage in conjunction with chiropractic care.

When I lived in Portland, I would see Deborah as well as other LMP’s at Elite and was never disappointed. The staff is fantastic… educated, intuitive, strong, and down to earth. Rooms are clean and decorated nicely. Prices are so reasonable, especially the type of massage that you receive — 60 min. (not 50 min. like a lot of places), professional atmosphere, and highly skilled therapists. Deborah was my favorite and still today is one of the best therapists I have come across. She is so talented and gives a very strong massage. She displays strength along with a deep knowledge and intuition of the body. I like to come back for massages whenever I go back down to Portland for a visit — she is THAT good!

First massage ever. Had a great experience. Very professional and informative staff. Very affordable too. The location is a great place to grab a bite downtown before heading back to work.

I love this place! Been going off and on for several years now. Friendly staff, very accommodating. They really try to assess what your body needs and customize your massage. The therapists have lots of experience with different types of massage and they’re focused on making you relax, heal, relieve pain, and reduce stress. When I’ve been injured, they’ve also given me stretches to do on my own — they really care that I heal!

I love Elite Muscular! Both my mom and I have been coming here for over 5 yrs. Of course we’ve had our favorite people there but I can honestly say I have never had a massage that wasn’t fantastic! I actually prefer that they don’t make you put on a tiny robe wait in some room. You walk in, go straight to you relaxing, amazingly clean room and get straight to relaxation. I have come to Elite Muscular for knee pain. fixed…sciatic issues… fixed it is more than just a massage it is very therapeutic minus the horrible side effects that come with pain pills, medications etc.

An hour long massage at this wonderful and warm place is truly all that a good massage should be. I’ve been many times, but not often enough and not recently because I can’t bear to make the long drive when I’m still all loopy and experiencing that kind of bliss after a massage. I’m sure this is not what you are supposed to do, but I always stop at Java House for a great latte in the same cute little shopping area complex thingy (not sure what to call it, but it’s just got such a nice feeling and is a small but pretty little place with a florist and a deli and more).
Prices are within typical, $ 60 for 60 minutes, but I’ve always felt like they were good enough to almost justify it.
