Mr. Formal

I really like the staff & selection at Mr.Formal. They were informative, friendly, and I was greeted with a smile. The ladies that helped me made me feel very comfortable asking questions, and not to mention the selection was Tasteful. In addition to a very well rounded selction from classics to modern looks.

Mr. Formal is the most well known tux rental store in the area, I’m confused how they can’t get tux fittings right, it’s their only job! My son, who is 5’9″ and weighs 180 pounds went to his Jr Prom in an XL shirt and size 34 pants. I shouldn’t have to call back and say it doesn’t fit! You took him in a back room and measured him. Your employees knew that an XL large shirt and size 34 pants wouldn’t fit him, but you gave it to us anyway. Clearly your company mission statement doesn’t match the employees mission statement.

Used torn and stained clothes for rent. If you want to pay a lot for smiling faces while getting swiftly ripped off with threadbare clothing at regular rental prices this is the place for you. My best mans used pants tore apart at the crotch while sitting down into the car after the ceremony, causing him to miss the reception and best man speech while getting a replacement. They then charged me 75 bucks extra for those used pants after I had already spent almost $ 600 on my 3 groomsmen. That’s after we returned 3 separate times to pick up new sizes of clothing after the original sizing was performed incorrectly under the Mr. Formal staffs lead. They also forgot to provide dress socks with his shoes. I decided to rent a tie and vest and had to request a new tie 4 times as each tie I got was literally so terrible it was unacceptable to be worn, I’m talking ties shaped like bananas with large 6″+ marks of another color other than that of the material they were made of, not to mention they don’t stay tight and need constant adjustment. Long story short they made me wait till days before the wedding to unload a bunch of cheap used clothing on me that I feel was unacceptable and I spent everyday after the clothing was provided in a nightmare going back and forth to get new pieces that were properly sized and not damaged or soiled and was still not able to get what I feel is a proper set of clothes for what I paid. When I complained at the end the manager Brittany said basically nothing could be done. Well what I can do is to let people know that they are going to get ripped off if they select your company.

Went to this location of Mr Formal for a tux for our son’s senior prom. The selection is fine, but that doesn’t make up for the poor customer service. The sales people were so hurried to decide for us what we wanted, that the young man helping us didn’t even ask us what we wanted, instead, I had to stop him and clarify exactly what we wanted. He was pushing us through each step, and he clearly wasn’t interested in helping us find a cut & style that would look really good. He just wanted a quick sale. Only one young female employee was very polite that day, but unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to work with her. I also witnessed another young man come in with an issue, and he was treated like a child that the staff was annoyed with. How sad. The shoes we ordered did NOT look like what we ended up with, a button was missing from the sleeve, and another button fell off the tux jacket. This company has forgotten about customer service, and I would gladly drive to a location further away if I was to receive good customer service for the $ 160 1-​day rental I’m paying for. Very disappointed, I would not recommend this company to a friend, and will not be going there in the future.

I went to the Vancouver Mr. Formal for my wedding tuxedos. The girl that helped us was great! She helped me match up my colors and to narrow down the style I wanted everyone in. The price was great as well. I would definetly reccomend them to my friends that are getting married.

These people acted like idiots. I went in with my bride to be and this «customer service representative» was the worst I have ever experienced. When asked a direct question she looked at us with a blank expression and answered us by saying, «So, um… yeah… maybe…ummmm.» She then turned to he coworker, the one that seemed to have half a clue, and asked her a question which had nothing to do with what we had asked. The supervisor should have been the one to help us from the beginning because the rep we got has no business working with people who are seeking information or assistance of any kind.

We told them our colors and asked for our options and recommendations about what looked best. All we got was blank stares… The same blank stare you find as a deer looks into the headlights of an oncoming big rig. If I could rate the experience at this shop lower than a one, I certainly would.
When we called another local shop they were more than willing to help. Apparently they get a lot of business off of these idiots. I don’t know if it is clear yet, but stay the hell away from this place if you value your time, or intelligent conversation.

Felt like a second hand citizen going to this place when getting a tux for prom for my son. They don’t take the time to work with you if you are not part of a wedding party was my observation. We were scheduled a fitting time which we made and was told we had to take it home and call if there were issues. They were not busy at the time and we were on time. I ended up having to reschedule my evening to get home for my son to try on with 2 min left to call back to tell them it did not fit. Then try and explain what’s wrong. Well you have him in a xl and his normal shirt size is medium. I had to stand my ground when we went back the second time to get the correct time to have him try it on there. For the amount of money we pay they should want to make sure it looks good. I felt like a number oh just another prom. Wrong! I will be writing corporate regarding this issue. Hope you have better luck then we did
