It’s a serviceable dive bar right off HWY500. The highlight of Silverstar Saloon would be the amount of pool tables and dart boards. From what I recall, there are about six of each. So that means no long waits in order to play some games. I believe darts are free and pool will cost you $ 0.50 per game. There’s nothing particularly special about this place, but nothing particularly bad either. It’s in a convenient location, has cheap drinks, so-so food, bad karaōke(at least from what I’ve heard), and some folks who shouldn’t have been served so much. But, it’s very much a dive bar, so you learn to take the good with the bad with the average and just relax. There’s one large TV behind the bar, but it’s rarely on. So, if you’re hoping to «catch the game», then this isn’t the place for you. But if you’re just wanted to hang with some buds and maybe shoot some pool or attempt to sing, this hits the spot while doing so with a very«casual» vibe. More of a «home sweet home» type of place rather than a «destination» type of place, if that makes sense. You come here to relax, not to party on the town. And sometimes that’s all we really want and need.

Always have a great time here. Fav dive-y type bar in town. Everyone is friendly, drinks are decent and karaōke is entertaining.

I had alot of fun with my coworkers at this bar playing pool, but the service and food were terrible. No one even checked my ID when I went into the bar. Of course I am of age, but no one asked for it. The chilli cheese fries are NOT good. you pay 9 bucks but there was no flavor whatso ever. I probably wouldn’t go here again.

My friend and I stopped in for a quick beer on a rainy Saturday afternoon. We sat at the bar for almost 10 minutes and not once did the bartender acknowledge us or indicate that he would be right there to take our order. It was there loss though since we took our business to the spot and had a fantastic time. What a disappointment.

I have been going to this place for nearly 2 years now. All of the bartenders knew me by name almost immediately after I started going there. They have their regulars and I have only seen one fight the entire time I have been going there. I am a regular. The person below said the chicken strips are poor. Not at all! They use franks red hot in the batter and the strips are great in size. They give you what you pay for there and that is great. Yes, it is your typical bar food. But my boyfriend and I have went in there just to have dinner before. They have karaōke almost 7 days a week, unless there is a band on Saturday nights. Melinda is great! Tries her best to get people in the karaōke mood, so long as they cooperate. She doesn’t complain when you ask when you’re up next either. She KJ’s Thursday through Saturday night. There is PLENTY of seating and 7 pool tables. The bar itself is a great size too. Drink prices are good also.

Went on a Wednesday night after playing card games at Dice Age Games(down the road). Walked in and saw a large group playing poker, which was a good sign that they were gamer-friendly. They have a nice selection of beer on tap. Not amazing, but good for a divey bar. There was some karaōke going on and a nice large dance floor where the singers were doing their thing. We sat in the back in the booths next to the pool tables, which seemed to be in good shape. Once a patron asked us if we were playing Pokemon(we weren’t) and later one of the bartenders asked if we were playing Magic: The Gathering(we weren’t, either). Apparently there is a group of Magic players that is trying to get a meetup going on there on Sunday mornings. So, this place is definitely gamer-friendly! We had a nice time and will definitely be going back to play games and drink some beer. Oh, and we also had the chicken strips, which were pretty poor, but its dive bar food, what would you expect?

Saturday night Carrie Cunningham and the Six shooters was terrific for line dancing not so much for partner dancing such as the waltz, cha cha, east coast swing west coast, etc, the fiddle player was great Devil down in Georgia.

The owner clearly put his heart and soul into the remodel to the Silver Star Saloon and it shows. He opened the place up with plenty of tables, built a nice stage and decent sized wood dance floor, and is now sponsoring live country bands on Saturday nights. They offer Karaōke most of the rest of the week. This is a surprisingly good-sized bar that looks much smaller from the outside. The food portions are large and everything I’ve tried has been delicious. They hand bread their own chicken and offer some tasty home-made fries to boot. Although it’s in a funky location, I love this place and don’t mind driving across the river for a good night of good food, music and fun!

So recently this place did a style update. It is now known as the Silver Star Saloon and the outside was done up to look like a red barn. Seriously. This didn’t change their customers or make it any more busy that I’ve seen but whatever.

Thought it wasn’t bad, till the cook charged us for our food. which isn’t bad or wrong, until you get charged for food on your tab as-well!
