Good Barber who’s very experienced and clearly knows what he’s doing. Fun shop with an amusing staff in a great location. The only thing I was disappointed in was that the Unilocal price range is waaaay off. $ 40 for a men’s haircut is not what I would consider «inexpensive.» Not saying the cut isn’t worth that much, just that the price range advertised should reflect that.

Just got my first haircut with Tommy today.
Great guy, great space, reasonable price for the exceptional quality.
You can tell he knows his stuff. He will make sure he gives you a cut based on maximizing your good features and minimizing any bad ones.

Tommy is a great find, he is very knowledgable, extremely dedicated to his craft, and very detail oriented. I went to him on a referral about a year ago and I will not go to anyone else for as long as he will take me!

Tommy’s attention to detail is unmatched. He is thorough and thoughtful with every cut.
I started getting my hair cut by Tommy a few years ago. He is always helpful in deciding which direction to go with my hairstyle. When I was growing my hair out last year, Tommy styled it every few months so that I was able to avoid those awkward stages that seem unavoidable when growing out your hair.

I am not a guy who cares too much about a haircut, but my fiancé can’t stand for my hair to not be cut perfectly. After trying a few different stylists (including hers) I finally reached out to a friend for a referral.
Long story short — fiancé loves my new do. Tommy listened to what I was looking for and could see where stylists in the past went wrong. He’s a cool guy, funny, and did a great job. He also took photos afterwards so I’m guessing that every time I go back I can rely on him to deliver the same great results on a consistent basis.

Tommy is great at what he does and is passionate about delivering the best haircuts. I just found him and called to make an appointment– he saw me the same day (and on time too) and delivered an awesome cut. Really impressed and will definitely be back.

I hadn’t been to a real hair stylist/​barber for over 10 years (don’t ask). So, I was quite hesitant to pick a stylist. I happened upon Tommy’s Unilocal page and decided to book an appointment. He took me the day of the call and the appointment started on time. Tommy definitely knows what he is doing with men’s hair (his specialty for something like 7 years) and makes sure to discuss what you want (and don’t want) before he begins the cut.

When I first came to LA I was a lost cause with a bowl cut and poor grooming skills until one frustrating disaster at Great Clips that I went looking for help. Interviewing stylish passersby I kept getting the same response — 2Tone Hair Mechanics — followed by some change because I looked homeless. Saving up said change I finally was able to get a life changing appointment. Tommy is like a plastic surgeon for hair. Turning that fat, homely, wall-​eyed high school reject into a beautiful prom queen (with a great fake rack). Ever since I moved away from NY (and richie the barber) 8 years ago I wandered aimlessly from barber to barber all over LA. That ended the first time Tommy gave me a haircut about a year ago, now I refuse to go to anyone else! Tommy is the best barber I’ve ever been to!
He’s incredibly thorough, has a great eye, understands and interprets what I ask for, he’s easy to talk to and literally delivers an excellent cut every single time.
He did my haircut right before my wedding (nailed it), and I’ll continue to see him as log as we both live in the same area. actually if I ever have to move, I may fly back to Venice once a month for trim!
