It took me over one year to make it to this taco truck. It is much quicker and cheaper than going to Casablanca but nowhere near as delicious or fun. If you are hungry, I’m a hurry, or looking to spend less than $ 10 bucks on dinner than it will do. You can large burritos for $ 6-$ 8. There are some Oaxacan specialties like tayulada I have not tried from the truck that you may want to explore, I intrepid let ordered a carne asada burrito The quality and preparation of meat was better than the average taco truck. I’m partisan to Oaxaca as the eponymous capital city of the state is beautiful.

REALLY wanted to like this spot. Service was pleasant, wait was reasonable(at 12:30am) I got a four-taco plate with two tacos de chicharones, one taco de carne asada, and one taco al pastor. The meat was… just a bummer on so many levels. They boast that their chicharones are«fried pork,» when in fact, it is actually fried pork SKIN only. This is not the pure bliss of pork belly in it’s entirety, instead it’s gelatinous chunks of fat and skin. Gamey. Just really not the greatest thing I’ve tried in recent memory, to be nice about it. If you like the chicharones at Guisado’s, you’ll probably like the ones at La Oaxaqueña. In all honesty, the real tragedy was that I could barely discern between the carne asada and the al pastor. The only real give away was the gristle that I found in the asada. Otherwise, with the heavy dousing of «guacamole»(which is more of an avocado salsa, in my humble opinion) and hot sauce kind of masking the flavor of the meat, I couldn’t tell the difference between the two. The textures(sans the gristle) were completely uniform — There was NO difference between the mouth feel of the pork versus the beef. My tongue said, «What the hell is going on???» No self-service salsa bar. They DO take credit cards, with certain caveats on minimum charges. They offer Mexican Medio Litros… Awesome. They are open until 2am. Don’t think I’ll be back for seconds.

VEGGIETACOSAREREALLYGOODHERE! I appreciate any good food — be it a great marinated pork or a great veggie dish. That said, a lot places don’t make great veggie food unless that’s their specialty. But this truck makes it right! Flavored(Mexican) rice, refried and whole beans, guacamole, tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, it’s all in there! It’s a really satisfying taco. Everything else is decent, typical taco truck food — nothing I ever crave, but it’s a great option for your late night cravings.

Took a little time to find the truck, but once I did, I was greeted by a cheerful truck with a variety of specials — I was looking for tacos al pastor, so ordered a combination. The fellow who took my order flashed me a shy smile, scrawled out my order and quickly handed my an ice cold diet coke. As I waited for my order, I perused the variety of Mexican soda pops and other drinks they had which brightly popped their heads out of a bank of shaved ice. Thrown in were cups of rice pudding and jello. My order took a few minutes — I noticed the truck was clean inside and out. When I got my food home finally and popped open the lid — I was impressed by the bright array of fresh fruits and vegetables garnishing the plate — a wedge of lime… Sliced tomatoes atop lettuce, and brightly colored radishes. The pork al pastor tacos were juicy and delicious — the sauce not quite as hot as King Tacos … Definitely good food. I would go there again for a taco fix.

Late night flight into LAX with my gal friend. First order of business was food. Selected La Oaxaqueña Taco Truck base on Unilocal customer feedback. HALLELUJAH!!! We enjoyed the beef and chicken tacos.

I have been in Venice since 2002. Watching inexpensive, good food go away while everyone clammers to cater to the wine buying tapas crowd has been sad to watch. But there is one constant… and invincible presence that will never be run out of town… not only because it’s on wheels! But because the food is good, the people are pure and the location is, well, a taco truck on Lincoln near Rose. Thank you for the amazing chicken tacos that I enjoy at some point every 5 – 7 days. Your smiling staff and especially how great you are with every customer from house-less people putting coins together for a meal, to drunk idiots at 1:45am, to the local neighbor I see looking to grab a ‘didn’t feel like cooking dinner tonight’ treat. It’s the best taco truck on the westside hands down my pants grabbing $ 1.50 for another chicken taco! Suggestion: you can get it to go and call in your order if you don’t want to wait in line or hang around Lincoln blvd… at some point, force yourself to eat the food there, when it is piping hot. You won’t be disappointed you did.

Amazing tacos! What a gem of a find, friendly staff with quality service, I wish they hadn’t run out of carne asada when I had gone there but the carnitas tacos were absolutely wonderful. If only they were closer, be sure that whenever I am in the area I’ll stop by again for sure.

Incomprehensible Wait time + worst pastor burrito of my life forced me into giving my first bad Unilocal review. Really, it was that bad.

This place is good but they lack big time in this salsa department i’ve been going here for a few years off and on and I have to say it’s good for a quick cheap taco stop. my husband has had problems with the cops there late one night during a sting operation due to how he looks they assumed he was involved So if you look a certain way I recommend going earlier in the day

Delicious Mexican food. I drove by many times but usually Lincolnd Blvd is packed with traffic, but this time was about 2am and stopped to grab something to eat and I don’t regret I did. Open 6pm to 3am daily, that’s great for late meals as long as you dont expect anything fancy, is a taco truck.

Didn’t get sick… My asada burrito didn’t taste like much. No reason to try again in a town of great taco trucks.

I love this taco truck! I love burritos de lengua and these are the BEST! They’re better than my mother’s! The meat is soooo tender and flavorful! The burritos are big and awesomely delicious! I love going on summer nights but even on a cold and rainy day, it’s worth walking the 3 blocks over.

I loveeee this taco truck, its sooo good and consistent in flavor everytime i come. The tacos have went up to $ 2.00 now, they used to be $ 1.50 a few weeks ago but no worries cause they are worth it. I love the carne asada. The meat is always tender, juicy and veggies are always fresh. If your in the area stop at this truck and enjoy some tacos or maybe weven the ceviche which i hear is great as well.

The food here was good. They were out of a couple things but I was in search for food late at night in the area. Which I figured out was not so easy to find. I ordered one of each of the tacos they still had. All were good, nothing great but for the price the taste was great. I would recommend this place for anyone trying to find late night eats in the area.

Incredible tacos, had the combo plate 4 tacos for 6 with al pastor, chorizo chicken and carne. Carne was the only let down and only because the rest were so good. Wait was a bit for low traffic, worth every second of it.

Good location if you’re partying on Main St or in Venice. The tacos are aight, not horrrrible but not very good either. The tacos are $ 1.50 I believe. Burritos are pretty cheap. I had two carne asada and one al pastor(they were out of bistec). The tacos come with sauces, onions, cilantro, etc. so if you are a picky eater or don’t like spicy food, beware. I usually like to do my own salsa and fixings so I would have preferred a salsa bar. The tacos and burritos were pretty spicy. The meat was ok but there are better taco trucks, even on the west side. Carne asada was burnt and both the carne and pastor were dry. A lot of flavor coming from the sauces. The burritos are pretty big. Also this taco truck has a C health inspection rating. Basically the worst rating you can have while still operating. I’m cool with a C rating if the tacos are good but that’s just not the case here.

3tacos for $ 5. Road side tacos off lincoln. Can’t compare to LA but still pretty good. Probably best after hours/party place to pass by if in Venice area. No seating, just grab your food and either eat in the car or bring it back home. Can’t complain since there’s no other taco place opened in Venice late late a night.

Spicy in spicy out… hot hot! I went for 3 types of Taco’s. The beef was rather chewy, the chicken a bit dry and pork was to my liking. The flavor was mild but the hot sauce used was so overbearing that after a few bites I was reaching for water… definitely needed less spice and more flavor. Service was friendly though.
