Just ate there with my girl today and I have to say… I was not satisfied at all. The food, bland, over priced and just not at all worth visit. I had the chicken teriyaki. It was like I was at home and I had a few scraps of food left and cooked it… that’s what my plate looked like. The location is great, patio area looked ok but it could a lot better. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t so kind and it was windy out so the inside of the place was cold, so it seemed like they would’ve shut the patio doors… Nope! The seating wasn’t comfortable either(hardwood chairs) maybe we should have sat in one of the booths. Although it was during a slow time, there were about 7 customers and my waiter(Mike) was just not inviting at all. The entire staff looked like they couldn’t wait until the day was over. I started this review off with two stars but now I’m going to remove one because I’m getting a little more frustrated about my high tab for such a poor experience. I will not recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for a spot to eat.

You know when you go to a restaurant and their menu covers a wide variety of foods? You know they just do everything really well, right(sarcasm)? Right, just don’t. The bartender was great. I’d say drink here but think twice before eating. I’ll attach a picture of their wonderful fish tacos with the one topping they have and without. Also, if the waiter is aware of the contents in the tacos you’d think he would warn you before serving you tacos like below…

Super solid and clean healthy food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I often have the body builder breakfast which has choice of protein, egg whites and pancakes or oatmeal. Healthy and filing.

We were walking by and it was cold and rainy so we decided to stop here and grab a bite. First thing is they have Mirror Pond in tap which is one of my top beers. It’s hard to find on tap outside of Oregon. I got the chicken burrito and my boyfriend got fish tacos. Both were really good. The staff was nice and quick to get what we needed(drinks and food) The only thing I didn’t like was all the hipster types but it’s near LA so they seem to have an infestation of them.

Every time I’m in the area I always make it a point to visit. It’s my favorite spot. I’ve been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have a great happy hour and the staff is amazing. I definitely recommend it to all my friends and soon it becomes their favorite spot as well. Great parking near the beach which makes it easy to walk down after a nice breakfast.

It was my birthday weekend my girlfriend drove out from Covina, my other girlfriend flew in from Texas. Our bill was over 100.00 n the service was horrible. We needed napkins, water, condiments we had the nazi waitress from hell. Everytime we wanted to asked for something we would ask each other who’s going to ask we were scared to ask lol. I won’t be going back.

I was dying to eat at this restaurant because of the name and location. Super cute restaurant! However, the food was extremely disappointing. I went for breakfast, ordered pancakes and eggs. My eggs came out on a broken plate that was glued together. My pancakes were cold and hard. The syrup that they use is not real, it was goopy like jelly. I asked the server to warm up the syrup so It could at least have a smooth consistency, he came back with a cereal bowl, with warm syrup in it. Not only was the food disappointing but the execution and the presentation was horrible. I will never eat at this restaurant ever again! Don’t waste your money. I couldn’t even stomach eating my food. Denny’s and IHOP have way better pancakes and I don’t even like Denny’s and IHOP! So sad!

Just okay. ordered BLT with some frys. It was late afternon. so only a few people in there. It was good because it was quite. Had to send the BLT back because the bacon was over cooked and we’re small chips. Waiter was good. Took it back and brought out a new sandwich pretty quick. 16 bucks. a little steep, but I imagine rent is pricy.

Meh. The place is styled very cool, but the food and service are only ok. We were a party of four and were the only people. It took a very long time and my order was incorrect. They were very polite, and I just ate what was brought because it took so long to get. The bar would be fun on a weekend, but I wouldn’t come back for food.

I’m allowing one star for the great beers on tap and other booze. Service was good from the bartender, but my particular waiter was pretty rude when he was serving me. As far as the food goes, it’s quintessential tourist-trap crap. Pretty hard to screw up buttermilk pancakes, but some how these guys managed. Nice work!

I live right by this place and I love eating breakfast. This place is disappointing every time I’ve tried it. Overpriced. No personality. Bad quality. Bacon is poor, pancakes are stale, and the service was also not friendly. Lots of egg white options, great location, even has parking! But it’s not worth supporting such poor execution of a meal. Not impressed again.

this place was just super simple, and I love that. I got a really delicious meal — burrito rancheros. Its an open face burrito, and you mix everything together: rice, beans, eggs, salsa, etc. I added sausage because it comes meatless!!! it was so good. i even said while I was eating it that it was one of the best meals ive ever had. I stand by that. it was unique and yummy and spicy and fresh. i will be looking for similar items on other menus to try to recreate this meal… wish me luck!

My friend and I were having a girls’ day and strolling the Venice boardwalk when we decided we were hungry and wanted a margarita. Honestly, we chose The Firehouse because it was close and convenient. At first we were hesitant because we saw chopsticks and soy sauce on the menu along with nachos, and thought«wtf?» but we still decided to sit down, and it was a GREAT decision. The happy hour is awesome and we were served by Luis. He was absolutely phenomenal and I will be coming back just to see him! Luis made our experience there A+, I mean, this guy knows how to make a regular! The food was also good and the nachos on happy hour are so large and totally worth the price. The Firehouse has a great happy hour and if you go please ask for Luis!

Stopped in here for happy hour and ordered the king. The drink was really tasty, not overly boozy tasting, but still packed a punch. Service was very attentive and the outside patio area wasn’t crowded, but great for people watching. I’ve also been here for breakfast a few times. Spinach pancakes are amazing as is everything else I’ve tried there. Again, great service in the morning and very reasonable prices. There is also parking available! A super plus for a Venice business.

I usually come for breakfast on the weekends. Good food, a bit expensive for breakfast though. My favorite is the Body Builder combo that comes with scrambled egg whites, and a choice of protein(I like the Italian Turkey Sausage Patty), and choice of carbs(I love getting the multi-grain pancakes with blueberries). Parking in this area can be an issue, but The Firehouse has a couple private lots of their own, including one small lot on the side of the building, and another across the street next to the dry cleaner.

Dear firehouse, I came by hoping for a lovely evening with friends and was quite disappointed. A few high points… — a really nice open floor plan that allows for comfortable indoor and free flow of outdoor seating –fire engine red theme — perfect proximity to the venice art walk/unicorn stampede. –great spot for people watching The lows and disappointments… — 6 pieces of non-organic free range chicken wings were 12.99 $ on an appetizer menu(that’s no ok!) — Somewhat confused wait staff — Inconsistencies… My brother had to pay an extra 4 $ for a side of broccoli for a veggie rice bowl that came with just sautéed peppers & onions. He ordered it because the table next to us had the exact meal with broccoli as part of the meal, not an add-on. Oh well, although it did not put a complete damper on the evening, I am not keen on coming back. I hope you guys try to tweak and improve as you grow…

I had quite an interesting experience at the Firehouse. We went there for drinks and appetizers after 9:00 pm on a Friday night and there weren’t that many people there. Our bartender, Alejandro was amazing and was quite attentive. Then we noticed that the people sitting next to us were quite friendly with the bar staff… so friendly, in fact, they went behind the bar and served customers drinks. It was quite a trip at first and then we realized they were friends with the owner. We came to learn that this is a family owned restaurant and that made me like it more that I originally had. I love family owned businesses! I didn’t end up ordering food but the drinks and the service were pretty great. If you’re looking for a truly local spot in Santa Monica/Venice beach, I suggest checking this place out.

Food is very uninspired. The hash browns were the worst I’ve ever had — it was just mush. Our waiter was very nice and polite, but he literally forgot half of the things that we ordered. I saw him write everything down while we were ordering, so it was a bit of a mystery. We came in on a humid day and it was absolutely disgusting inside — no A/C nor fans in here, so beware. This place gets by because it has a prime location, but it would be nice if it stepped up its game.

Two Words: Bodybuilder’s Choice I came here again to meet with a friend. He actually wanted to smash some weights with me at Golds, but I took a break from the lift life. DYEL? Nah, brah. Not ’bout that life anymore. I came here for the second time with no expectations. This is a pretty solid place for those looking for a post or pre workout meal. Ideal for bodybuilders who follow the classic bro diet. I guess you don’t really go here for the food, but to be seen or to check out some muscle. I wonder if Steve Cook goes here when he comes to LA… Better service this time. This is an ideal place to hangout and meet some swoldiers
