Poor service. I asked for something very simple, a brc with no rice extra beans instead, willing to pay extra and everything. When the cashier read the order back to me upon payment she said it correctly but that’s not how I received my brc. I went up to counter to explain to her the mistake that was made and all she said was, oh… ok, sorry. Didn’t try making it right or anything. I’ll go to the other locations if I’m in the mood for a brc.

Absolutely disgusting!!! **I ordered off of eat24*** They did not have any of the items I ordered but failed to call me and let me know. I show up and the guy tells me I have to pay yet I already paid online. He also says they cannot make the food I ordered. Wtf. So I ordered other items and was hoping they would be halfway decent. My «quesadilla» looked like a ran over burrito and my husbands burrito was all rice and no flavor. The only good thing was the guac. I thought a churro was impossible to mess up until today. Boy was I wrong. It tasted like it had been sitting out for three days and fried in old grease. My toddler didn’t even want to eat it lol. I messaged eat24 about this joke of an ordering system they are supposedly using over there. Hopefully they fix some stuff. After all, there were about 15 workers there. But only half were actually being productive and not chatting.

I was greeted with a friendly welcome as soon as I walked in. Nice! I like that. No waiting so I ordered right away. The employees here are very friendly and helpful. One negative is I ordered the family meal but I was not asked if I wanted the three course meal. I thought that’s what I was getting. For $ 1 more I could upgrade and get the additional items. As I waited for my order I looked around and the store was pretty clean. I moseyed over to the salsa bar. I quickly noticed the avocado salsa is actually thick and not watered down like at other locations. And after tasting it it’s actually a bit spicy too. Fast and affordable food when in a pinch for time and maybe money. I tried their side of corn for the first time and it was good. I always enjoy the grilled chicken. I also enjoy the bowls and salads here.

Good fresh chicken and sides here. The staff is very attentive and very friendly. They take extra care to make sure you get what you want. I usually go to a very good El Pollo Loco in Burbank, but it was late and I wanted to eat at an El Pollo Loco location in Ventura, and I came here, and I was not disappointed.

El Pollo Loco has some very good chicken and other Mexican dishes available. There’s also a great little salsa bar here. The best thing to do is get one of the 6 or 12 piece meals and get some of the beans rice and cheese(BRC) burritos. When you get home you can fill these with chicken and some of their great salsas. Beware of going here before closing though. The workers won’t make more chicken for you and aren’t very happy to see you. This can be annoying when everything else in the area is closed but I don’t really blame them. Everyone wants to get home.

I ordered the chicken avocado burrito and loved it. It’s newer item. There was some annoying kitchen buzzer that was very load and went off every few minutes. Not appealing if your dining inside. k

This place has really stepped its game up I think. I went in for a quesadilla I had not been there in a while and I felt so loved lol. I walk in and everyone is happy I was greater immediately and every employee greeted me when they passed by. I didn’t expect this from a fast food place but it’s probably the best and noticeable experience I have had at pollo loco ever. I hope they keep up the good work.

The poor kid behind the counter must have been a new hire. Had that glazed over look that seems so prevalent of today’s youth. I ordered a meal and he asked me 3 times if I «wanted a drink with that?» «It’s a meal, it comes with a drink,» I responded. I should not have to train these kids for you, El Pollo Loco. After payment was given I stood behind the counter waiting for my cup and the kid continued to stare at me. «Anything else you need?» «Yeah, I’d like a cup for my drink.» Be sure to order water with your chicken — you’re going to need it. 10 Piece Chicken Meal was DRYDRYDRY, and the outside tasted as if it had been under the heat lamp for some time. 2 Chicken taco combo was salty as hell. They changed the black bean recipe so it no longer comes with that delicious sauce, it’s just boring black beans. Mashed potatoes definitely taste as if they came out of a box. I really would have been better served going up the road a ways to KFC. The only positive note to this was in contacting the manager. She was courteous, apologetic, and offered to refund my money which I accepted. I know it’s fast-food, but even fast food should have some kind of standard. Will not be a repeat customer.

We used to love this chicken, but at this location it is ALWAYS overcooked and dried out. It is really unfortunate because the original product was great, but the execution here is terrible. We tried it again today with the same bad result. They really need some quality control here.

My hubby ate at an El Pollo Loco in LA… he said it was great… not so here… Chicken was marinated, dry and mummified. Cole slaw was good Grilled corn was really tasty but TOO spicy Mashed potatos tasted like they were bought at KFC two days before, then warmed up Mac N cheese was ok… tortillas were the bomb… soft and ready for filling… What is the point of El Pollo Loco?!! Go totally mex or get rid of your OMG white people sides… yucky mashed potatos and gravy? Won’t be back again… If I want baked chicken, I will cook it my self… wrapped in bacon and basted with a reduction of raspberry jam and balsamic vinegar… If I want some really good mex food, I’ll go to the nearest small Mama’s hole-in-the-wall kitchen or break out my own brick or lard…

One of the quicker and cleaner El Pollo Locos around. Never really to crowded and alway great service. The food is good. Chicken tends to be dry from time to time but usually when you order during rush hour!

For fast food, this place is healthier and fresher than most. This location is very clean and spacious. They take expired coupons without issue. The new fish tacos are pretty tasty. My ONLY complaint is that it has gotten more expensive in the past few years so you need those coupons to make a cheap meal for the family.

While enroute to yesterday’s «tax day tea party» at the Ventura County Government Center, I opted to drop in for a quick bite before joining other concerned citizens questioning the tax & spend policies of our local, state, & federal governments.[1] Considering that I’m currently unemployed, I gotta say that I was pleasantly surprised that I could get two chicken-filled tacos & a BRC burrito from their value-priced menu for a total of $ 2.89. Add to that an extensive salsa bar & a clean restroom and I’d say they won me over. Note: [1] Fortunately, no cilantro was in my teeth because I(along with others) ended up on the front page of the local newspaper, the Ventura County Star. =]

Boy was I ever excited when my wife said we had a gift card for El Pollo Loco and we’d be going there for dinner. I hadn’t been since I was a teenager. I drooled remembering the mouth-watering skin on the chicken and chunks of tender, flame-broiled chicken wrapped in warm tortillas with pico de gallo. Boy was I ever disappointed when I realized we couldn’t afford a family meal and I’d have to order off the discount menu. I ordered a leg, a taquito, a street taco and a BRC. 1. The drumstick was everything I remember. Savory skin over tender chicken. But after a few seconds, it was gone. 2. The taquito was made with a flour tortilla and the meat inside was so bland that I can’t even remember it 36 hours later. Half way through eating it, I tasted something sweet. I had heard that McDonalds puts sugar in their buns to make them more desirable to their gluttonous customers. I was just about to tell my wife that I thought EPL did it too when I noticed cinnamon sugar on the outside and some in the bag. They cross-contaminated my taquito with someone else’s churro dangit! 3. I opened up the BRC and filled it with pico de gallo which gave it a little flavor, but it the tortilla was rubbery and the beans lacked flavor. 4. Finally the street taco. Ahhhh. Street tacos are so yummy. Off the roach coach, from a cart pusher, even at the swap meet. Not here. First of all, the meet is chicken carnitas which is chicken cooked in the style of carnitas which is soaked in grease for several days. This was not greasy, not juicy, not carnitas. Still, it was better than the BRC and taquito. The place was too well lit, employees were eating at other tables and the other customers were unnattractive and made me feeling like leaving.
