I had the best service ever here from a very nice server named AMBER. She was so positive and sweet to our family. The food was very good but AMBER was the hi-light of our visit. Thank you for your hospitality and concern. Keep smiling and thanks for making our breakfast a wonderful start to our day.

Good food, great service! Sunny and clean outside patio area. And ½ off coupon in local newspaper. Best of all not far from home, for a quick and delicious meal– morning, lunch or dinner!

Totally agree with Jennifer K. Nothing very impressive. Just an FYI, my credit card disappeared for a brief moment and suddenly fraudulent charges appeared on my account! My bank has flagged this establishment due to fraudulent activity. Beware!

I rarely go to these types of restaurants. This place was alright. I was impressed by the salad bar. It was small but well maintained with all the fixings.

This café was the first place I went out to eat after moving into this area, and it was just downright amazing. I sat outside for brunch which made the food taste even better, and the servers were really cheerful and outgoing. Definitely coming back for more!

This place is like a throw back to simpler times and I enjoy that. I’ve had sandwiches for lunch, loved the club with fries. But I really enjoy the breakfasts. I usually get the waffle platter and add on the home fries which are potatoes fried with onions and peppers! When not burned(sorry to say I’ve had some overdone) they are so yummy. The waiter for us was a very nice man who couldn’t be better at his job. The décor change for every holiday is something most places could care less about but I find it a nice touch!

I’m not sure why this place has a high rating. This is the second time I’ve been here and I would rather spend my money elsewhere. I had the French dip, and it was awful. The meat was over cooked and dry, like it had been reheated. The fries and hash browns tasted like they were old and reheated too. Service was ok, but not great. Overall, not worth it, by any stretch of the imagination.

Hill Street is a standard café, décor is somewhat dated with a county slash diner feel, mugs line the wall upon entering with the names of past & present patrons. It has a loyal following and its in close proximity to the Government Center & Other nearby offices. Years ago the food here was highly talked about, nowadays I believe what people enjoy about thus café is the sense of familiarity, once your seated in a comfy well worn booth its like visiting an old friend. This is not a place to come if you want a quick meal, it’s slow paced, but pleasant service. I will add they make a mean Club Sandwich, that’s normally what I order upon dining here, as well as an ice tea with lemon. The prices are on par with most Cafes in Ventura so while it won’t break your piggy bank, it will be up to you to make the decision of what your in the mood for. At Hill street it will be comfort and a laid back homey atmosphere with an Americanized menu and a slow paced setting.

I don’t really know what to say exactly. This place is well known in ventura. It was our first time there & likely our last. I LOVE a bottomless mimosa which is why we went for brunch. First of all you have to order of the limited brunch menu for Unlimited mimosas. I wanted something of The standard breakfast menu but couldn’t order it because they would offer the mimosa deal. I got the garden quiche. It was ok. Not terrible, not the best. My boyfriend has a breakfast burrito– AWFUL. We aren’t terribly picky, but we couldn’t finish it. We also shared a waffle which was decent. Our mimosas kept flowing & we had a hilarious server, Dian. We loved her. She made our trip there memorably. The décor is hideous. I think they do it on purpose– at least I hope they do because it’s awful. It was a very interesting experience.

I don’t normally right reviews but this place. The décor is weird but it’s all about the food. The food tasted like they put a pound of salt on everything, the bread, the hollandaise sauce, the eggs, and the ham was gritty like they dredged it in salt before cooking it. I’m from the south, I know salty but this food took the cake for saltiness. I hate to write such a salty review(pun intended) but seriously, what is up with the salt? Two starts because the brunch includes mimosa’s.

Terrible… Waited in line… When we got sat the bar back asked us in broken English what we wanted to drink. Asked for a pitcher of water and we got two water cups instead… The water was horrible… Tasted like sediment just basic crap tap water… And I’m normally good with tap water… When we ordered food it was over priced and it came cold. I had the eggs Benedict and it was terrible. Not too mention the decorum was bought at the 99cent store other then the Thomas kinkade knock offs mixed in between the random tiki masks… About the only good thing about the place is you can order mimosas or whatever drink you need to forget about the money you just blew on the terrible breakfast!

This place is a hidden gem! Best bottomless champagne on Saturday in Ventura County hands down. You cannot beat the price of their brunch. Attentive service, decent selection, a salad bar, and an outdoor dining patio. Love it!

Hill Street Café has been part of my culture in Ventura for years. Today their breakfast surprised me with a great new flavor in a meal that I have never tried. Amazing friendly service and a great environment for the family. This is the place to be.

Had no idea this place was hidden close by. They are quite generous about their bottomless mimosas that are included in the price if you order from the brunch portion of the menu which runs $ 9 – 13 ish. The food was decent but I didn’t really see options id prefer like crepes and more bacon. The servers were friendly and professional.

I have been coming to Hill Street Café for years, don’t know what happened to this place but the brunch was horrible, home potatoes were burnt, sent them back and they came back the same. My grandsons omelet was swimming in cheese. I hadn’t been here in months and won’t be back anytime soon! Too bad it used to be great

I always make a point to bring all my friends to Hill street. It’s a nice traditional brunch setting, with the added benefit of BOTTOMLESS mimosas. Big ups to Miguel for always keeping the champagne flowing…

Ate here this morning for breakfast and because of where we were seated we were witness to a server(in this order) handle money, grab toast out of «the window», butter the toast, get the butter on her thumb, LICKHERTHUMB then continue spreading butter on the toast(which she was holding with her now licked hand) and then serve it to a customer. We informed the hostess who looked horrified but we weren’t sure she’d pass the message on to management as we requested. Hopefully management reads their Unilocal reviews. This was the last time we’ll ever eat here… grossed out

My top pick for local breakfast/brunch! It feels like an office meets Grandma’s house-the blue walls, carpet and curtains combined with the Coffee Mug wall in the foyer. The waiting area is small and often crowded on the weekends during brunch hours. I love the outside patio! HINT-I like to sit in the direct sunlight and right around 10:30AM, the far wall will start getting rays. ALL you can drink mimosas until 2:00PM which is included for brunch items listed on the front page of the menu but, here is another HINT-you can add the bottomless mimosas to anything on the menu for only $ 3?! What a steal, eh?! The food is satisfying, the menu large but nothing too creative. Eggs Benedict, waffles, quiche and the best thick, crispy bacon and seasoned curly fries.
