My first visit here. Quick stop in for morning coffee as I was on this side of town for an appointment. Very friendly staff. Cute clean café. Ordered a triple shot Cubano and enjoyed a yummy cranberry-orange scone. Crispy on the outside but moist on the inside. Very good. Espresso in the Cubano was pulled just right. Tasted perfect. Almost could close my eyes and be in Havana. Very busy place. I will be back. The lunch menu looks wonderful!

First time here :) I had the chicken salad and it was seriously the best, The Ladies at the register were so sweet and had a lil chat with me about the menu since I was a first timer and recommend the chicken salad, I’ll definitely be back soon.

Rating the bakery… 4.5÷5. Best in Ventura, but competition is not steep. Cookies and pastries are consistently good. Deli… 3⁄5. Salad is horrible that comes with sandwiches. Spicy, weird lettuce. Nothing special here for lunch. Staff is nice.

To be honest, I was a little sceptical of this place when I came in. There weren’t many people, so I didn’t know if it was just slow or no one liked this place. Nonetheless, I braved it and ordered the turkey club. Let me tell you, I made a great decision. This was the best turkey club I have ever tasted in my life. I generally judge a place by their turkey club and this place nailed it. Not only that, but their side salad was exquisite. That dressing was delicious, I loved the nuts and cheese curds in the salad. For dessert, I got a macaroon and a cannoli. The macaroon was the perfect balance of firm and soft. It was pleasantly sweet, but not too much. The cannoli was perfect. The shell was strong enough so that I could eat it with my hand and it didn’t crumble everywhere. It had little chocolate chips inside the filling and the nuts on the outside really put it all together. Not to mention, it was lined with chocolate. Their chai latte is literally the greatest chai latte I’ve ever had the pleasure to taste. I will definitely be coming back here. Well done, ladies.

I only bought a birthday cake here, never tried the café. But the birthday cake was not impressive. I ordered a chocolate cake with buttercream frosting. We got a chocolate cake with white frosting. I thought ordering a chocolate cake would indicate a totally chocolate cake, with chocolate buttercream, but not so. Lesson learned. I passed up the chocolate mousse on the inside, and asked for buttercream there, too, bc mousse fillings are often greasy or otherwise disappointing. The cake was around 40 bucks for modest sized cake. The frosting did not taste like a buttercream with butter. I was much more concerned with the flavor of this cake than the looks, bc our guests were/are choco-holics. It was a pretty cake, but I will not return to get a good birthday cake.

Downhill alert: they used to make the best cakes. Recently I ordered a cake for a milestone birthday for my mom and it tasted like… nothing. It was expertly baked and beautifully decorated, but I was very disappointed. No one at the table said it was good. I called and wanted to talk to the baker, not to get a refund but just to talk about what went wrong. The person on the phone said someone would call me back but no one ever did, so I guess they don’t care.

I preordered my husband’s birthday cake from Royal Bakery. Carrot cake is his favorite. I specifically asked if it had cream cheese frosting and was assured that it would. It was $ 40 for a 9″ round cake, and it came with whipped cream frosting. Ralph’s cake tastes better. I also ordered 6 cupcakes when I got to the bakery. The cupcakes were $ 16, and they only gave me four. The frosting had a weird, margarine taste. They left an oily taste in our mouths.(They were so bad that my kids didn’t want them). Needless to say, we threw the cupcakes away.

I love the quiche, salads and sandwiches. The dessert though… out of this world! They have amazing cakes and cookies. If you haven’t been there, you are missing out.

Royal Bakery is delicious! I have been coming here with my family for years! We have ordered birthday cakes from here, and it is such a treat to get lunch here! The staff is very friendly and the prices are great in my opinion! My daughter loves the ‘cow cookies’ and I love the tarts that they have. The quiche are delicious too and the salads are wonderful! We always leave here happy and full!

Best salad and quiche in the county! Customer service takes a while to warm up to you but maybe because they get so busy especially during lunch time. We kept going coz the food is great. They started recognizing us and more smiles came along. FYI, get there early if you want the quiche coz they sell out quick.

I wanted to come back on and update my review. Mt first time here I just tried things that weren’t for me. I am officially hooked on ANY of their cream based soups. They are all amazing. Today I was in a bad mood and knew a good lunch would cheer me up, I was right. Now debating if I should get a coconut macaroon…

First time here. I ordered the turkey sandwich on sun dried tomato bread. It was good! The bread was very soft and the turkey was moist. It comes with a salad which has sliced almonds and feta cheese with a light dressing. I recommend this place. =)

Chicken walnut salad is unbelievable It’s on a bed of mixed greens shredded chicken and it comes with grapes(don’t knock it until you try it) It also comes with a fresh baked roll. My favorite place to come get a salad And don’t get me started on the baked brie

Royal Bakery has been my favorite bakery in Ventura since they opened 20 years ago(longer?). Their cakes are really delicious and they skip the typical Crisco icing for actual buttercream and whipped cream. But by far my favorites are the small dessert bar goodies. Now that they have added savory lunch items I have had all the more reason to stop by!

This was our first visit in many years, and we found ourselves in the neighborhood. Got there on Saturday at 4:30 pm, and there was quite a line. The girl behind the bakery counter was clearly annoyed, I’m not sure why. She was really rude, rolling her eyes and huffing and puffing. But my daughter wanted cupcakes. When we got home, I tried the German chocolate, and was bitterly disappointed: it tasted day old. Dry, dry, dry as Yuma. Maybe an off day all round?

Delicious chicken walnut salad or chicken walnut sandwich ! You can’t go wrong with any of the two. And to finish a great lunch, any pastry is good too.

Everything is fresh and locally grown! They have a wide of selction pastries & an array of food to choose from! I had the pastrami melt. Its delicious and the freshly made to order. The staff here is friendly! Think about the quiche! Its really good as well soft, savory, moist, eggy, and a little spicy! The crust is crispy and incapsulates the filling greatly.
