Went there for dinner tonight with my husband and son. My first impression was as if we just drove into a ghost town, but a cute one. My husband had the beef and chicken chilaquiles and a barbacoa taco. Being the foodie he is, he thought it was delicious, especially the barbacoa. Since i am a vegetarian they let me know they can turn any dish into vegetarian with meat substitute. They recommended the Vegetarian Huarache with home made«soyrizo». By far, the best vegetarian dish I have ever had at a mexican restaurant in my entire life! The girls at the front were super friendly and the service was fast even though it was busy. It took us about 25 – 30 minutes from our house but definitely worth the drive! We’ll be going back! Gotta get churros for desert. delish!

This is probably the best Mexican restaurant ever!!! Everyone who works there treats us like family. They have the whole package when it comes to dining! I love Casa Jacaranda !!!

If you’re driving through Venus this a must stop. By far the best Barbacoa I’ve ever had. The food was great, the service was fantastic and the price is right! My fiancé and I had the breakfast burrito one with Barbacoa and the other with Chorizo. Amazing. As we wait for our food they provided fresh chips and two different types of salsa both are delicious. They serve Mexican coke(BIGONE) and of course we had to have them! We noticed that they also have a bakery so we ordered 2 Churros and a Tres Letche cake. I’m telling you we pigged out but all of that was a total of $ 21 bucks! The only thing that could make this better is if they had a bar! We will be regulars.

Excellent authentic Mexican food. Tortillas are absolutely to die for as are the different salsas. Super friendly staff as well. My only complaint is it’s a little pricey for the amount of food you receive. They really need to increase the amount of rice and beans they put on a plate. Just not enough to fill you up. Regardless, I give 5 stars because the food is that tasty delicious and staff beyond nice.

Just discovered this place and we love it! Everything is very fresh. Breakfast served all day, lunch menu, bakery, and fresh squeezed juices. For the starters: Chips are crispy and not too greasy Three kinds of salsa that are sooo flavorful and some with a hefty kick Tortillas are made in-house and, steamy, and hearty Mexican coffee is sweet and cinnamony in clay mugs The mains: The chicken enchiladas(pictured) are to die for. They weren’t all too spicy but very flavorful and not overly greasy or saucy. I normally don’t go for refried beans but these were excellent. Obviously fresh. The rice was fluffy and tasty as well My friend also got the eggs and they were some of the best restaurant eggs she’s had. Definitely coming here again.

Best Mexican Food I have has since I moved to Texas 5 months ago. And the hospitality is really good. Good tacos, good homemade Horchata, great spicy flavorful salsa, and great homemade pan dulce(Mexican pastries) for dessert!!! Not much in Venues but this place is worth the drive. I am actually going there today!

What a great place to eat. The food was awesome and the pastries as well. The owners/staff are welcoming and friendly. If you’re a fan of mole — it’s a must to have here. Everything was so fresh, authentic and yummy! If I lived closer, I’d be a regular. You must check it out. :-)

Let me preface this by saying I have never written a review for a restaurant on Unilocal. This little café/restaurant is the most surprising little gem in a tiny Texas town! We came for breakfast, ordered coffee, and got not just coffee, but Mexican coffee, which had hints of cinnamon and a light sweetness — absolutely fantastic. We ordered barbacoa tacos, tamales, and a soup that were all authentic and incredibly good. We ordered churros and they made them fresh for us! Service is very friendly; the owner takes the time to explain every menu item you ask about, and the server went out of her way to make you feel welcome. The café is authentic Mexican: go to the counter, order, eat, and then pay. It’s so good, so worth it, you will not be disappointed.

Usually a place with all 5 stars reviewed by Unilocalers with less than 10 reviews and no pictures can’t be trusted. You have to go find out for yourself if a place is good and sometimes you are disappointed. I guess that’s with every place though. I’ve never been to Venus before this trip. I almost started to feel like I was in the Western part of the state, expecting turbines or E.T. Casa J is family owned and in downtown Venus. Older part, not really kept up. I thought I might have made a mistake, but sometimes good eatin is in shady looking places. There hasn’t been a restaurant that I tried yet this year that made me so excited that I had to go home and write or review, or write one in the parking lot! You go in. They let you know it’s traditional Mexican. You order, seat yourself, and pay at the counter after you eat. The menu is short and sweet. Breakfast served all day. Tamales, quesadillas, fajitas, enchiladas, tostadas, nachos, chilaquiles, barbacoa tacos, and that’s pretty much it. They have mexican candies, soda, and pastries! Churros! The girl taking my order said their quesadillas, fajita plate, barbacoa tacos, and enchiladas were great. Really I didn’t want fajitas because you can go down the road anywhere to get fajitas. I wanted something different, so I went with Fajita Huarache. Fajita Huarache. A round tostada looking thing only you can’t pick it up and it wasn’t crunchy. the texture reminded me of a tamale. Beef, onions, rice, beans, crema, and cheese came on it. It was amazing. Every single bite. So flavorful. The flavors of the combination of everything was fantastic. Just because I didn’t think it would fill me up I got a Barbacoa taco. Also great. The barbacoa was delicious. The chips were perfect. They give you 3 salsas. One red and two green. So good I wanted to drink them. They have queso. I would pass on it and save my calories or stomach space for the good food.

I must say, I do not give 5 stars too often but this place is just REMARKABLE! When I first walked in, I could not help but notice the exposed brick wall. It added such a warm and cozy feeling to my visit. The waiter/waitresses were so attentive to our table, always offering refills on our drinks, not allowing our chips to run out, and constantly asking(but not in an annoying way) if everything was okay or if we needed anything. Now obviously I am here to rate the food so here it goes. I alway rate a restaurant by their chips and salsa. I feel that some restaurants focus so much on food that they don’t really care about their chips and salsa… THESEWEREDELICIOUS! They gave our table all 3 salsas, two greens, and one red which was very spicy but so freaking good. The green salsa’s were also on point and did not lack flavor at all. Horchata– I don’t usually order horchata but for some reason I wanted to try it out. It was so good, not overly sweet, and it just taste so fresh. I got a few refills that morning, for sure! My husband got the Jamaica and that too was delish! It tasted so fresh and he got a few refills on that as well! FOOD!(sorry for the half eaten food pictures, I was STARVING and could not help myself) I ordered the pozole, which was not on the menu but I just asked so make sure you always ask too! It was chicken pozole and let me tell you… it was so hearty and had very good flavors. I definitely was able to taste all the different spices, chicken flavor, the lemon, and whatever else that was in there. My mouth is watering as I am typing. I also got the chilaquiles. For those of you who don’t know what this is… It is a Mexican breakfast dish that is made up of tortillas, salsa, beans, cream, I got chicken, and a few other things. If you’ve never tried, I really recommend this dish! My husband got one but with steak and man it was so good! I actually enjoyed his more than mine but both were stellar! ASKFORANEGGONTOP! :p I also got the barbacoa tacos which was cooked to perfection! The flavors were so rich and with the lemon and onions on top, it just gave it a crunch that was so good! At the end of the breakfast, my husband got a steak quesadilla last minute and it was so worth it! The flavors all just combine perfectly. I recommend this place 100%. The menu is short and sweet but i guarantee you will love the food. It is authentic and well worth trying! Next time I visit, I definitely want to try the chile rellenos and tamales. I’m sure I will be returning soon :)

I can’t believe how awesome this place is! We just tried it today for the first time and I am blown away! We tried the barbacoa tacos, the burritos, and my favorite, the fajita huarache. Everything was absolutely stellar. And the décor is cute, too. They’ve even got authentic pastries and flan made in house for sale as well. And from the looks of the sign in the window, looks like a liquor license is on it’s way. We will be back soon!!!

I can’t believe this place is in Venus! I eat a ton of Mexican food, and this place is better than just about any other place in Dallas. What a great surprise! I will become a regular at this little gem on the Venus town square. Try all of it – you won’t be disappointed.

Oh my goodness I am so happy that this place is here. It is a traditional Mexican food restaurant and bakery. The food is perfectly seasoned, the staff is very nice, and the salsa with the avocado base is to die for. I will go back very soon.

Cute Lil family owned restaurant. Very colorful and rustic look. We walked in and were greeted right away. She asked if it was our 1st time and showed us the menu on the wall. The prices are decent and the food was good my husband had the fajita plate with HOMEMADE flour tortillas which is a ++++ I had the egg and chorizo burrito. We were both happy with our meal and will be coming back. I was looking forward to getting some pan dulce from their bakery but they didnt have much of a selection at the time. Will try back on a weekend

Authentic Mexican cuisine. A great find in little Venus! I found the Mexican pastries to be a good edition.
