Quick, cheap, and close. An amazing combo for anyone who works in Vernon where there aren’t many food choices. As a food truck, they’re killing it. You can get anything from this vendor and it’s going to be good. They’re also generous with their avocado — giving you half to whole avocados depending on what you’re ordering. Depends on what time you show up, but if it’s during off hours(read: not lunch hour), you can easily show up, order, and have food in hand under 10 minutes.

I work a few blocks over and I went out to lunch with a few coworkers. BEST. DAY. OF. MY. LIFE! As unhealthy as it is, I would come here at LEAST twice, if not three times a week. I even took some home and my family loved it! I recently started eating healthier and watching what I eat, so I haven’t been here in a few weeks. But who’s to say I don’t deserve some really bomb fried shrimp tacos? They have a variety of foods on their menu. Ranging from shrimp and fish tacos to quesadillas. Please give it a try, but don’t be discouraged if this place gets filled real quick! Yes, it is THAT good. FYI — bring CASH!

Very consistent food. Very good food. Even the truckers park in the middle of the road to get a bite to eat.

This food truckkkkk. I keep coming back for moreeeeeee. Perfect place to stuff your face with these delicious Fried Shrimp Tacos(Taco de cameron). Crunchy on the outside and perfectly soft/moist on the inside. They’re not stingy on their lime & avocado either, like some places. Put on some of that suspiciously questionable toxic neon green sauce outside. It will definitely will give you an intense kick! Made my lips burn, but oh so good. Fish tacos, ceviche tostada, and the cocktail are all okay. The shrimp tacos were the best, though. Definitely will be one of those places that I will miss when I don’t work around the area. They even wrap up all your tacos so neatly and organized when you order it to go. With a cup of salsa and half or full avocado. Best bang for your buck! There are benches around the truck for limited seating or you can eat outside by your car on a good sunny day. Which is practically everyday in LA.

So I was in Los Angeles and decided to go to one of my fav places which is the alameda swapmeet to eat but unfortunately when I arrived it was closed which was odd since it was Monday but either way that left me with no place to go eat and I didn’t know of any other spots around there. So I got on Unilocal and saw good reviews for this place and it was close by so I decided to give it a try and I glad I did because the shrimp tacos were bomb! I got 2 fried shrimp tacos & a tostada de ceviche. The tostada was good nothing amazing but the shrimp tacos on the other hand were some of the best I’ve had and with that neon green sauce that’s really spicy makes them even better! Definitely plan on going again for some more!

No name/generic/Latin food trucks are a dime a dozen in Vernon and finding a good one is like striking gold in a pile of coal and rocks. Thank goodness for Mariscos El Hermano. They consistently deliver great fish or shrimp tacos. This is one of the only food trucks I enjoy enough to frequent. Shrimp tacos are $ 2.50ea. and fish tacos are $ 2.00ea. There are other things such as ceviche or oysters. I recommend sticking to the tacos though(you’ll see most people order it). Many times when I order more than 3 tacos they would give me an unspoken discount. My last visit, I scored 3 fish tacos + 2 shrimp tacos for 9.50(which would normally cost 11.00). You’ll be able to spot the yellow truck down Santa Fe situalted in a parking lot. It is always in the same spot everyday and it’s bright yellow, usually with at the very least a small line(at all times). There are benches nearby but they can be surrounded by flies, and they aren’t very clean. My suggestion is to order and take it to go. They also have various glass bottled sodas, Jarritos, Coca-Cola, Sprite etc. Definitely worth a try if you work in Vernon and are looking for a lunch spot to try out.

Whoohoo! Awesome food truck in Vernon… that’s not a surprise… I hope you sense my sarcasm, Vernon has very limited selection in food, with mainly sandwich and salad joints through the city, so it’s nice to have the option for delicious Mexican food. This truck is right off of Santa Fe, between, Gets crowded any time after 12, so make sure to come a bit earlier before that. Most customers are workers in Vernon and when you see a huge crowd at a place, you already know it’s a great lunch spot. Shrimp fried tacos are very tasty and they live up to their name: crunchy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside. I also ordered the fish tacos, which wasn’t as good as the shrimp one, but it wasn’t bad except fish didn’t taste super fresh. Their octopus ceviche is also a great item on the menu to try. More on the exotic side, you should definitely try it if you are a seafood person. Otherwise, stick to your basics.

I came to this taco truck by accident, but it turned out be one of those situations confirming that the best things in life are unexpected. I came here for lunch yesterday under the misguided assumption that this was the famed Mariscos Jalisco taco truck. Upon parking and walking over, I inspected the signage on the truck’s exterior and was disappointed to see that it was Mariscos El Hermano. A case of mistaken identity. Still, I had been putting off a craving for tacos for the better part of a week and I decided to take the plunge. What a great idea that turned out to be. I ordered two shrimp tacos, one fish taco, and a ceviche tostada for lunch and it was pure ecstasy. I think these might be best shrimp tacos I’ve ever had. The succulent pieces of shrimp were encased in a fried tortilla shell, glazed with a red salsa and fresh avocado slices. The fish tacos were good as was the ceviche tostada, but the shrimp taco steals the show. I washed this down with a bottle of non-alcoholic sangria and marveled at the feast that I just had for around $ 10. I’ll be dreaming of Mariscos El Hermano’s shrimp tacos and I plan on coming back for seconds really soon. Like«probably next week» soon.

This place is really good! They have a really good Shrimp and Octopus Cocktail. One of the best I’ve had from a food truck. I tried the Shrimp Tacos today and they were good. They came with a spicy but flavorful salsa. I’d recommend this place if you’re by the area on a lunch break. There’s lots of parking and there’s some seats under a tree in the shade.

A bit overrated with their 100% 5-star reviews. I got my chance at some tacos dorados de camarone(shrimp fried tacos). The prices were cheap, the tacos were filled with yummy shrimp, they gave you a half of an avocado and a cup of salsa and the tacos were nicely prepared for you to dine-in or take togo. I personally thought the taco shells were a bit too oily and greasy for me(yeah I know, they’re fried), but still. After a couple of tacos, I was pretty much done. Brother’s Seafood has a nice gathering, even on a Saturday afternoon there were tons of people eating in their cars and in the parking lot of the factory. Yay for Coca Cola hecho en Mexico as well!

Agua chiles are the best!!! Super spicy. Make sure you get the habanero salsa. It looks neon green and is super strong. Much better than all the other places I’ve had. It hit the spot.

Wow! A happy find on Unilocal.Easy to find, plenty of parking because they’re in a parking lot. Service fast and friendly, Tried the shrimp tacos dorados, fish soft tacos and a whole shrimp tostada. All really good, comes with an avocado to add yourself plus a cup of special salsa. Prices a little higher than others reported, inflation? Fish taco still $ 2 but the shrimp taco is now $ 1.75. The whole shrimp tostada is $ 5.75, a bit pricier than some items on their menu. A ceviche tostada is $ 3.50 which looked really good, too. Another time, for sure. Especially like that they are open on Saturday!

I LOVETHISPLACE! The shrimp tacos with the super spicy salsa is to die for. Its very different then your typical battered shrimp stuck in a tortilla! I always get the shrimp tacos and jive ceviche. There never is parking and the neighborhood isnt fit for Tory Burch or her home girls cHanel or GuCCI, so wear shoes that u can run to your car in cuz theres no parking. People are typically nice the staff and customers. BTW I order a platter of aguachiles for the Super Bowl $ 55, well worth it. They were fresh and delicious. Enough for 10 people.

Honestly gets 5 stars just for their shrimp tacos. Most Vernon food places get a disclaimer along the lines of «good for Vernon», but this place is just legit good! I wasn’t too impressed by the fish tacos, but the shrimp tacos deserve some recognition. If you work in the Vernon area(why else would you be in Vernon honestly) and are frustrated with the lack of good options, definitely try this place out.

Really good shrimp tacos! I’ve never been here personally myself but I’ve had them before when my boyfriends brother brought some for us to try. These shrimp tacos are worth a try! Their nothing like I’ve ever had before! Their not like your traditional battered shrimp, these are fried with the tortilla, served with salsa and avocado on top! Wow, Party in your mouth! Haha I can’t talk about the location or prices because like I’ve said, I’ve never been there personally. I can’t give it a higher rating because I only have had one dish, but that one dish gives it a 4star on my review ;)

Who knew orgasms left the bedroom on wheels, eh? My bf works at BCBG, and he took me here for lunch last week. To be honest, I wasn’t exactly too stoked when he said he was going to take me out for tacos, since there were other places I was anticipating on going to instead, but he won me over. The truck itself was kind of hidden in a parking lot, and it seemed that the only way you’ll know about it, is if you worked nearby. Let’s keep it that way, eh? ;) Anyway, when I was looking at the prices, the only thing I really noticed was half a dozen raw half-shelled oysters for $ 5?! Is that even possible? The cheapest bargain you’ll probably find is $ 7.99 for half a dozen, but you’d still need to wait in an everlasting line at Boiling Crab! But we didn’t get them. At least, not this time. My bf ordered 3 fish tacos($ 2 each) &3 of the deep fried shrimp tacos($ 1.50 each). Overall, I think our total came out to $ 10.50, with no tax either… score! Our order quickly came about through the window, and we just devoured our food right there. The shrimp one looked amazing in its heavenly sauce with gigantic pieces of avocado on it, but come on. fish tacos? I HAVE to eat that one first. The fried fish itself was gigantic, and was bigger than my actual corn tortilla. It was perfectly crispy, and perfectly seasoned. It was topped with a simple cabbage slaw & salsa mixture, but the best part was their secret sauce. I don’t know what it was… but damn, that & the lime… PERFECT! $ 2 was definitely a bargain for what you get. I ate one, and was almost full already. I tried the shrimp one next, and mmm. The sauce had a perfect kick to it, a bit spicier than I had anticipated, but mmm yummy. The avocados on it was perfectly ripened, and I began to dig into my shrimp taco. An explosion of flavors fulfilled my mouth, as I chewed slowly. It seemed that the shrimp was chopped up into fairly big portions mixed with a batter and other meats. I don’t know if it was plain shrimp, but maybe some fish too? I don’t know, but for $ 1.50 yum! Those two tacos alone did it for me. Afterwards, we got a Mexican Coke and basically encountered our food coma for the next 2 hours. Breakdown: $ 2.00 Fish Tacos $ 1.50 Fried Shrimp Tacos $ 1.50 MExican Coke ^that’s what I had, and that’s what I recommend. I think $ 5 could fill any stomach. I got full off of only $ 3.50. Pros: Quick, fast, HELLACHEAP, big proportions, and big on flavor. Cons: Kinda hidden, if you asked me. Would’ve been cool if they included some sliced radishes on the side. I’ll definitely be back, mark my words. And I hope to try the oysters the next time I’m here.
