Very uncomfortable stay. Beds are very old and uncomfortable. Towels sheets are stained, ac unit has broken twice in a day, ice machines do not work. If it is not because I have to stay here for a soccer tournament I would of left. Yes, rooms are very convenient because the fields are super close by but as soon as you leave the room they turn off your AC unit in the room with the excuse that you can not put it lower then 72 degrees. Facility is clean and well maintained. Fields are great. Someone needs to upgrade the rooms and AC system asap!

Had a blast truly a park geared for the baseball fan lay out of the park very laid back. We caught the last season of the Dodgers Vs Astros. Had the dodger dogs and beer to top off the ballpark tour.

While it was interesting to stop by and see the old spring training site for the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers. By no means do I think this is a must even for avid baseball fans. The«Hall of Fame» was little more than old photographs of the history of the Dodgers organization. No memorabilia except in the Jackie Robinson room. It was interesting to be reminded of some of the historical events. The condition of Holman Field was disappointing(could use some paint). With a little investment from the Dodgers organization, memorabilia and historical markers this could be a nice baseball Mecca instead of regulated to solely various youth sport camps, occasional tournaments and collegiate spring training. Not that those things are bad but would like to see more attention on historical significance. On a positive note I want to rewatch«42» again and look to see if I recognize anything. Not that I really needed that as an excuse.

To say my husband was thrilled to be here would be an understatement. He was in heaven! We went on a Sunday while everyone else was at the airshow, the lady in the office was so kind and helpful. We wandered around for about an hour, I honestly had to drag my husband away! It’s so beautifully kept, everything looks immaculate! Those who take care of it are doing an outstanding job:)

A Dodgertown retrospective: I never really liked baseball growing up, I went to games when I was a kid with my parents, but I just never got into it. Then one day, it clicked. I loved the Dodgers. Maybe it was that fateful afternoon when Kirk Gibson belted the home run and limped around the bases. Whatever caused it, it was the day my blood turned Dodger Blue. So naturally my trip to visit Dodgertown in March of 05 was quite emotional. I knew I was excited, but as I pulled in I had no way of knowing that simply seeing the sign«Welcome to Dodgertown» would, quite literally, bring me to tears. I arrived at Spring training’s opening day several hours early. I was practically one of the first cars in the parking lot, besides the staff and players. I wanted to soak in the entire experience. As I pulled up I saw players off on the practice fields taking batting practice, little did I know I was about to get up close and personal with the players! That’s the magic of spring training. You’re allowed access inside the practice area. I watched as future Dodger Brad Penny and future trade bait Edwin Jackson worked on their fastballs. I watched batting practice with future Dodger hopefuls. The players signed autographs with the fans, conversed briefly then moved on to the next workout. I made my way across the fresh cut grass to Holman Stadium as the Florida Marlins took their batting practice. I shagged a couple former Dodger Paul Lo Duca foul balls, one of which I got him to autograph. I don’t recall if the Dodgers won or lost on that day, but it’s just Spring ball so it didn’t matter. What mattered is that a dream came true on that day and I am glad I was able to saunter down Vin Scully Way before Dodgertown was no more…

This stadium is amazing. I don’t know what Vero will become without the Dodgers. I’m glad that I got to go watch the Dodgers play here, before they moved to AZ. They played against the Red Sox this past Sunday and won 4 – 0. I believe that 10k people showed that day, the largest turnout in Holman stadium history. Wow! The Dodgerdogs are just as good as they are at the Chavez Ravine, but in a more intimate setting. I loved it. This park will be missed.
