Lord & Taylor

Lord and Taylor is definitely more of an upscale department store. I love the name brand selection and quality has never let me down. However, staff could be a little more helpful. I have purchased 2 pairs of Sam Edelman flats from the shoe department. I was never approached for a size either time. There were multiple associates on the floor available to help by the register. They wait for you to approach them and ask for a size even when they see you walking around with a shoe.

It’s really the only Lord & Taylor in the Rochester area so I haven’t had much experience with these kinds of department stores. I can surely say that they are not for those who have problems with shopping and have maxed out their many credit cards. As I tend to fall under this belt, this could only spell trouble for me.
No matter on what entrance you take, you will be greeted with racks upon racks of clothing that is tailored to be on the «high-​end» style. What I mean by that is that all most to all of the items found here in Lord & Taylor will be made of high quality that is sure to last many years. However that does not apply to ALL of the items in the store as some sale items are of those made with cheaper materials and thus don’t last as long. Minus these details, I’ll commend this store for doing a few things that are more than worthwhile a visit.
First of all, it’s incredibly neat in here… not Von Maur neat but still well organized, well stocked, and properly placed. They also have the privilege of carrying excellent designer brands and lines that you would have trouble finding at your typical lower level department store. Well, as this are designer, they come with a price. I would look for when some of these are at least some percent off unless you like paying full price for these clothes because depending on what you get, it will not be cheap. At least you will be paying for the quality, so good for Lord & Taylor to do that.
What else is great? The employees here really do love their job and aren’t the typical «snooty representatives» that you may expect at a high end store. They are respectful, courteous, and even knowledgeable on most of the items that Lord & Taylor carry. I’m only speaking on behalf of the clothing departments so jewelry might be a completely different story. Judging by the service I received, I’m pretty sure the positive feelings carry forward into there as well.
Besides clothes, Lord & Taylor does carry shoes and accessories such as watches and purses for sale that are also worth a look at if you need to invest in them. The selection of shoes is good for both men and women and ladies should enjoy their wide selection of totes and handbags… not my forte but again, not aimed for me.
If I didn’t mention it before, this is located in the Eastview Mall so you will have mostly people form the Victor area shopping here which mostly consist of those in the middle to upper class higher wealth area. Regardless of this, Lord & Taylor is excellent to visit on its own and well deserves to be here at Eastview. Perhaps another location may be in the works?

All I am happy about is that they have my Kate Spade!!! Finally easy to get to. Love that!

Great selection and loving the end of season sales.

In my view, perfume, cologne, and eau du toilette, really need to be smelled in person, they don’t make for good on line purchases, which why I appreciate L & T. Because they carry some of the harder to fine medium to higher range fragrances that one can’t easily find in other store here in Roc city.

This is a very nice Lord & Taylor!, calm & beautifully organized, STOCKED! with many fine designer lines you might find in a good version of a Neiman Marcus or Bloomingdale’s:like Theory, BCBG, DKNY, Marc Jacobs, Ike Behar, Eileen Fisher, David Meister, Badgley Mischka, Ferragamo, Tahari, Nicole Miller, Tommy Bahama, Hanro, Max Studio, Lacoste, Bobbi Brown, Allen Edmonds, Bruno Magli, Cole Haan, Max & Cleo. Miss Sixty, Free People, Ralph Lauren, Armani, Thierry Mugler, Calvin Klein,& Many More! Now here’s something interesting… a manager there told me it ACTUALLY does TWICE & sometimes even THREE times the business of any Lord & Taylor in upstate NY!!! Imagine that! It is in a great upscale mall, Eastview, with lots of new upscale stores opening all the time.
