Have gone twice for dinner and it was really good both times. Service is very professional and efficient. We will definitely be back again.

The food here was very well prepared and one of the best tasting meals I’ve had in the area. I’d really like to give 3.5 stars but the Salmon I had earned the 4th star for this place. That said, for the price(about $ 50 per person for dinner with wine), I expected a slightly better quality service with a little more attention to detail. For example, ladies should be served first, know which plate goes to which guest, don’t reach across a guest, and don’t awkwardly rearrange the center of the table each time you can’t find space for something. I recommend this place for those looking for a great meal in the area, and we’ll definitely go back ourselves. I just hope the servers get a little more training on etiquette and customer service appropriate to the class of restaurant.

We had dinner for six. Five meals were wonderful but my husband had the veal and it was tasteless. We were also disappointed in the key lime pie. We are still giving it 4 stars because all the appetizers were great, the other 5 meals were great and the other desserts were great. Service was also quick and efficient. Do go there. Just don’t get the veal or key lime pie.

Tonight was my second dinner here. My first was great, and I’m not sure why we haven’t come back sooner. Tonight’s dinner was absolutely incredible! We started off with the chipotle peanut toffee and the lamb lollipops. Both disappeared instantly they were so good. For our entrée, my wife ordered the duck with sweet potato mash, and I got the flat iron steak. They were both executed perfectly! The steak was cooked perfectly, and seasoned beautifully. The lamb was very tender and full of flavor. The star of the dish was the sweet potato mash, infused with vanilla. Incredible! Vienna has such top notch restaurants and chefs, and Bazins stands out among the best(the best? maybe) I can’t wait for my next visit!

This is an elite restaurant. Main courses are not always 10/10, but when you go here you are getting a dang fine meal.

Hmmm. I came here cuz I received a gift card from work, it was ok. they got great selection of wine but the food was nothing too special. I got the lobster bisque which was good cuz I didn’t taste too much sherry in it. Hubby had steak and I had crab cakes. I think it was too overpriced for the taste.

Cute décor and location. My husband and I decided to come here for dinner. Overall, I was not impressed with the food especially for the prices that we paid. Started off with Tuna Tartar — it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. The portion was good, but the flavor was nothing special. I got the miso chilean sea bass as that seems to be the popular suggestion from fellow Unilocalers. Again, I was not impressed. The sea bass was cooked well, but it was as if the miso was just brushed on top as the flavor didn’t go all the way through. My husband got the stuffed flounder. It was a dry and it lacked flavor. Overall this would not be my first choice for dinner.

3 stars for brunch, with room for improvement. I started off with the dirty bloody Mary, which is like a regular bloody mary, but with olive juice and blue-cheese stuffed olives. The first few sips were disgustingly salty, but once I squeezed in the lemon and let the ice melt a little, it was quite good. Sadly, it was not spicy at all, but I’d get it again if I came back. For my entrée, I had the vegetable tart and substituted potatoes for the side salad. The tart wasn’t terrible, but it was bland and disappointingly small, roughly 4″ x 4″ x less than 0.5″. I had asked the server ahead of time if it was good, and I wish he hadn’t recommended it to me. I was glad I substituted the potatoes for the salad, because if not, I would have still been hungry. The potatoes were excellent, but oddly, they referred to them as «hash browns», when they were just quartered, roasted(or were they fried?) potatoes. Definitely not hash browns. Service was fine, and I have no complaints other than the server not giving me a better recommendation. I wouldn’t go out of my way for Bazin’s again, but I’d give it another try if someone else suggested it.

My husband and I were long overdue for a date night in Northern VA and came across Bazin’s on Church through Unilocal. We had a 8pm reservation for a Friday night but got lucky and were able to snag a table at an earlier time. The restaurant itself was larger than I expected and tables are pretty close together so it’s not really an intimate setting but the lively atmosphere definitely makes it a fun date night spot(but I admit the numerous Valentine decorations was slight overkill). Wine connoisseurs will definitely be impressed with their wine list; it’s super extensive and includes tons of high-end options. We ended up getting a delicious bottle of Schug Pinot Noir. As for food, we took advantage of their Restaurant Month deal = 3 courses for $ 38 and each dish is VERY generously portioned so this is a fantastic deal, folks! STARTERS –Chicken and Prosciutto Ravioli: four plump ravioli stuffed with chicken, rosemary, parmesan and topped with crispy prosciutto. The marsala wine sauce was a great accompaniment to the pasta and not too sweet or creamy. –Short Rib Empanadas: always gotta order short ribs whenever it’s on any menu and this empanada version was soooo good and served on a giant bed of guacamole ENTREES –Butter-poached Monkfish: perfectly cooked, luscious, and the lobster bisque sauce isn’t spiked with sherry so it’s not cloyingly sweet –Star Anise rubbed Pork Loin: meat was a bit tough and could use more seasoning; the grilled green beans were actually the star of the dish. DESSERTS Salted Caramel Tart is very rich and luxurious and the Flourless Chocolate Cake was the perfect counterbalance. And for the first time in my life, we ended up taking home leftover dessert because we were so full! But hey, leftover dessert is never a bad thing, right?! Our server was fabulous and really knew the wine and food menus inside and out. Also, if you are gluten intolerant, there are tons of gluten free options on the menu so there is something for everyone at Bazin’s. This restaurant is definitely a gem in the heart of Vienna. Looking forward to return — we are already eyeing the famous miso seabass for next time!

The restaurant is tightly tucked on church street off maple. A more quiet part of town with sparing parking behind, in front and underneath the restaurant. The exterior building is nice and traditional. Walking in you are surrounded by a wood décor, facing a long bar, Christmas tree and a live high school jazz band. Most of the front dining room is filled with guests. The service is nice no real mistakes. We ordered a salad to start and it was split for us which was nice. They served raisin and nut bread toasted and a side of butter which was delicious. The main entrees we ordered were crab cake eggs benedict and filet mignon eggs benedict. This is where the experience went south slightly. The food was delivered conveniently after we finished our salad. The problem was the hollandaise sauce was barely on the plate. Not only that the dish was cold, the eggs were undercooked as the egg whites were still raw. The home fries were soggy. I guess the server rang everything up at once and let the food sit. Unfortunately, our wonderful New Year brunch came out less than expected. The price for this meal, $ 65.00. For that price I could have made breakfast everyday for a month and that’s for two people all organic ingredients. Shame we couldn’t get a better experience from this Washingtonian rated restaurant.

My wife and I are convinced this is the greatest restaurant, and best food we’ve ever had. And yes, we’ve been around the country, and other countries. We’ve been here 4 – 5 times, and had a one-off experience in which the waiter kept forgetting things, and made an error on our order. The Sea Bass is obvious, but it’s amazing. Cooked to perfection. The seafood here is all great. We also went there during a crazy storm, and the power went out, but we still were cooked a meal somehow and ate over candlelight. That’s service! While the review is five stars, I do wish portions(specifically appetizers) were a little bigger. The menu needs a shakeup too, but for any first-timers, or second-timers, or even third-timers, it’s definitely a treat! Two appetizers, two drinks, two entrees, and two deserts is usually around $ 120 — $ 130.

I went to Bazin’s on Church for lunch on 12÷8÷15 with 2 other friends. I don’t know much about Vienna, VA having never really explored the area. I picked this place based on Unilocal reviews. I am happy to report that my fellow Unilocalers did not let me down. The ambiance of this restaurant is fantastic. It is a small restaurant but I didn’t feel like I was participating in other peoples’ conversation. I also really liked holiday decorations. It was nice without being overdone. I enjoyed the food. I had the fresh bread, chowder and omelet. I was very full at the end of the meal partially because I didn’t want to stop eating their delicious food. Our waiter was very good except for one point(which I will get to shortly). He checked in on us regularly; and, really seemed to understand Bazin’s on Church menu. One of my friend’s is very specific with her meals. Our waiter was very comfortable with her requests. However, the one thing he forgot to check on is when you separate the hollandaise sauce(and place it in a ceramic dish) that ceramic dish is extremely hot. My friend touched this dish(because the sauce in it was lukewarm) and burned her hand(enough that she felt it might blister). I will give credit to our waiter. He was quick to response asking if he could bring her some ice(which he did). He also checked on her twice during our meal to make sure she was okay. In a nutshell, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to Bazin’s on Church if I was looking for a place to eat in Vienna, VA. Tip: Give yourself a little more time next time to find parking. It is somewhat scare near the restaurant.

Was visiting the Vienna area recently and was introduced to Bazin’s by the couple hosting us for the weekend. It was an all around great experience from the moment we walked in. Great service, great food, fair prices, and more. The setting is not NYC chic but appropriate for the dinner crowd the restaurant attracts and the area it’s located. My stuffed veal was absolutely delicious, tender and perfectly cooked. Around the table we had the linguine and clams, which I tasted and was also very good, the cod, fresh and tasty, and appetizers all very well done.(Admittedly, I’m forgetting what we ordered. Our host couple graciously picked up the tab.) For dessert, we chose the apple crostata… wow…really a great ending to an overall very delicious dining experience.

Like a rotten child — let’s start by talking about dessert. Get out of town with how good the salted caramel tart tastes. I asked our waiter if i could place an order for a full tart for a friend’s birthday this weekend. I can’t get over the goodness of that dessert. I might talk about it for the next few days. You get a nice crust, a filling of delicious homemade caramel, and a sea salt topping. There is some chocolate ice cream on the side and whipped cream. Your perfect bite is a smudge of all the fixins on your spoon. I ordered the cod for lunch. It was nice and flakey, cooked perfectly, atop a creamy risotto. Risotto is also one of my faves so I get excited when it’s cooked properly. If you’ve ever had underdone risotto, you really appreciate when it’s al dente. And now to end with the appetizer — the Burrata salad. It was creamy and the right portion for an app. You also get some sweet pickled red onion and cherry tomatoes. All very good. Your perfect bite here is a bite of all 3 items on an olive oil toasted crostini. But, go ahead and tell the waiter to bring you more bread. 2 crostinis is a tease. The restaurant is inviting. You’ve got good windows to see outside and the décor is clean and cool. Our waiter, Bruce, took great care of us. He’ll tell you his favorite items and lead you in the right direction. This was one of the best lunches I’ve had. Now… give me more of that tart!!!

Everybody seemed to have good things to say about Bazin’s. So I thought I was missing out on a good place, maybe a restaurant as good as Maple Avenue. The food here ranges from poor to pretty good. My buratta starter was pretty good, the cheese being the most average part of an otherwise good salad plate. When I ordered the duck the waiter recommended it medium rare. That is correct recommendation and I enthusiastically approved. When my plate came the duck was so over cooked that I thought I was being served slices of meat loaf by mistake. That would have been a good mistake. The eggplant with cheese was more like a small plate of parmigiana and the potato served with it might have come from a supplier as opposed to chef made. This is not a foodie place, maybe it’s better than a diner but that is hard to tell. I think the clientele probably find it a good wine bar and maybe they make good nibbles. They don’t mind the carpet obviously that looks fairly filthy. I think this place will fade away or just become a watering hole. I had no problems with the service, but I would much rather spend more money at Clarity for the real foodie experience or spend less money at Maple Avenue for another kind of foodie experience. Last note on bread. This is very telling in a restaurant and Clarity bakes incomparable bread which it could charge for. You have to buy an order at Maple Ave and we enjoy every time. But if a restaurant doesn’t want to do either and make it a delicious part of the meal, like at this restaurant, then that’s your signal to settle back for nothing special or just leave.

I took my parents here for Father’s Day dinner. I was VERY unimpressed. I should have taken them to Blacksalt(which is where I usually take them)… For a restaurant that has dishes near the $ 30 price point, I kind of expect the food and service to be good. The guy who took our order was fun, but he didn’t really do much other than take orders… The rest of the service was horrendous. Here’s a short list: Had to ask for water refills. Had to ask for bread. Had to correct servers delivering our plates… Servers reached over us with the plates instead of placing them on the table from the side. Had to ask for silverware when dessert was served. Busboys leaned over and across the table to grab our plates… they should move, not us. Other than my mother’s Chilean Sea Bass, the dishes were overcooked and overly salty. My pork rib tasted old and gamey with sauce poured on top. When I put my fork to it, you could see how dry and stringy it was. When I asked the waitor if I should also order the Chilean Sea Bass, he said I’d enjoy the pork rib… False. I passed it to my dad who ate it anyway. My dad’s rockfish was dry and shrunken. I’ve never seen rockfish look so thin and dry… The spinach purée under the fried oysters was nice, but the actual fried oysters were small and chewy… The key lime pie was a sugary mess. I usually finish deserts, but I didn’t finish this one. The place looks nice on the outside; but like the key lime pie, it’s a bit of a mess. Mixed, cheesy décor with tables crowded in the space. Maybe tablecloths would make it feel less like a diner… Never again. If I ever have to eat in Vienna, it’s limited to Maple Ave, Tumeric and Plaka…

A solid brunch choice. I went here for brunch on a weekend, and it was actually quite pleasant. Bazin’s is rather large but somewhat squirreled away on a back street, and parking is rather plentiful, even for the area. The building is old school but immaculate inside, and seating is well apportioned though maybe a bit cramped in areas. Very nice lighting from tons of windows. Prices are rather affordable, so I was pleased. Service is decent, albeit not the fastest. I got Huevos Rancheros, and they were rather good. The inclusion of chicken really set the meal apart, as it made them rather meaty in a way that I hadn’t had before. Unfortunately, the tortillas were a bit thown-in and hard, as if made to be crackers rather than anything else. It was still very pleasant. Given the area, this is a solid brunch choice!

Phenomenal Mother’s Day Brunch! All 3 moms in our party loved their breakfast, the coffee and especially the roses from the owner. Our 3 kids(6, 10, 13) devoured their Belgian waffles(although melon on it was thought odd by one of our boys). The only miss was drink options for our kids — no lemonade, no apple juice, no chocolate milk. They improvised to make lemonade and chocolate milk, which neither of our boys liked… yours may be different or you might want to pack a juice box. Other than that, it is fine for kids. Awesome for adults — best Banana’s Foster French Toast ever… blew away the old Copeland’s version! Took me right back to breakfast in the French Quarter… Service is responsive and they will do whatever they can to make your meal and dining experience a delight. One of my local favorites!
