Hands down Best sushi in town. It is not cheap but it is definitely high quality. Sat at the bar on a Saturday night. Bar service was not great, as there were only two workers for the entire restaurant, so service was slow and we kept having to ask for their attention. Overall, the food was fantastic though. Gonzaga roll was to die for!

The fact that I drive by a million our happy hours to go here should say enough. You can read my BFF’s Lauren W. review on how me accidentally found this place. I’ve been to HH twice, tried to go another time, but we arrived and it was closed due to a private party… on a Friday. I was not pleased, but I’ve still returned. They have wine, beer, mixed drinks on special. And their martini’s are yummy and STRONG! I’ve only ordered the HH food and at this point I’ve tried just about everything and have not been disappointed one bit. I think some of the prices are a tad high, but other than that the food is on point. I’ve had the same bartender and he’s fantastic. He’s friendly, funny, and on top of everything. He even took our picture when my girlfriend’s met there for a our holiday happy hour. I’m already trying to schedule my next happy hour there. There also have this cool outdoor area, which I have not seen in nice weather since I just started going there. But it looks like there is a bar outside and I assume they set up tables as well. The restaurant is very nice inside, so this isn’t a place you pop in after the gym or if you are like me, spend 90% of your life in yoga pants. Definitely put on something a little nice. But don’t worry it’s not pretentious.

Worst experience at Azie. Have a very serious gluten allergy(Celiac) and thought with«gfree» written everywhere on this menu that we would be able to eat great sushi here. In good sushi restaurants, you just have to avoid items with soy sauce since soy sauce is derived from wheat. You also have to accept that there is always a risk of cross contamination when you eat out in any restaurant –this is a fact of life when you have a gluten intolerance or Celiac. That said, sushi rolls come down to rice and fish so they should be safe since both ingredients are inherently gluten free. Massive disappointment at Azie. Their version of gfree sushi is to make sushi with nasty brown rice. Apparently, the rice vinegar they use to bind the white rice together in the regular sushi contains wheat. Using these lower quality rice vinegars that contain gluten is cheaper and easier for restaurants like Azie. Azie management, I applaud your effort to offer gluten free menu items so thank you for that. I also appreciate that you are up front that the regular sushi is unsafe for those with gluten issues. But put your money where your mouth is — use higher quality ingredients so everyone can eat your sushi. What you don’t understand about folks with food allergies is that they just want what everyone else is eating– they just want to eat safely. This is an EASY fix on your part but, yes, it may cost you a little extra. Then you really can say you have gluten free sushi instead of the poor substitute you currently offer.

My best friend and I stumbled upon this place accidentally. Kind of. Thinking it was a different restaurant that we had been to before, I asked her to meet me here for happy hour last week. It turned out that the reason the place sounded familiar was not because we’d been here before, but because I’d had it bookmarked for years and had never made it down. Oops! Happy accident. Azie was difficult for me to find. It’s in a shopping center of sorts, in that there are other businesses in a cluster of small buildings close to one another. There is a sign right off the road for Azie, so you know that you’re in the right area, but it still took me five minutes driving around all the buildings to find the right one. Just so you know, it’s behind the back left building, up an incline a bit. The restaurant was definitely nicer than I was expecting. It has a very classy feel to it, very quiet and calming as well. So we were super surprised at how awesome the happy hour was! From 5 – 7, they had several $ 5 glasses of wine(not just the one or two whites and reds that some places do), most beers on special, and their version of $ 5 you-call-its. They had one vodka, rum, gin, tequila, scotch and bourbon on special, and you could order any kind of drink with that alcohol for $ 5. $ 5 martinis, yes please! The happy hour food menu was super large as well. The food wasn’t priced as low as the drinks, but I noticed the regular menu was priced high as well. So the HH food specials were still a great deal based off of their regular menu. There were around a dozen sushi rolls you could get at a discount. We tried the spicy tuna($ 5 or $ 6), spicy scallop($ 8), and shrimp tempura rolls($ 5). All were delicious. Then we tried the tuna pizza, crab and cream cheese spring rolls($ 4), and mussels($ 6) in a thai curry sauce. We ordered this smorgasboard for you, Unilocalers, not just for our stomachs. Possibly. The tuna pizza was a misnomer, because they turned out to be delicious tuna nachos. Raw tuna on top of tortilla chips topped with sriracha and lots of roe. The mussels had good flavor and we loved the Thai curry sauce, but the mussels were small. Great for happy hour sharing, but I would hope that the portion on the dinner menu is a little larger. I already have plans to go for HH next week, and will update review when I go back for a real meal. Definitely two thumbs up so far though!

This place is right across the street from my house, and I definitely don’t come here enough. The décor of this place is beautiful. I would say it’s one of the nicest decorated restaurants that I’ve been to from Wayne to Ardmore. This is somewhere you could come for any occasion. I’ve had two of the cocktails from here and they were both delicious. On my most recent visit I had the Strawberry Mule. It was very refreshing and aesthetically pleasing. The food is delicious as well. A lot of the plates are made to be split. My mom and I ordered the special of the day sushi roll. It had pretty much everything you could imagine in it. We also ordered the special salad. It had Arugula, blue fin fish, olives, and blood oranges. It was a very interesting combination of ingredients but it came together very well. My favorite dish that we split was the Kobe Beef fried rice. I am a huge fan of fried rice and this might have been the best I’ve ever had. It was simple and yet extremely tasty. I’m glad that I have such an amazing restaurant right in my back yard!

Food was disappointing. Started with the Kobe beef on hot rocks which was good, but then the food went downhill. Sushi platter had wasabi under all of the fish, which is not listed on the menu. I have eaten at dozens of sushi restaurants and have never had this happen before. I don’t like wasabi and there is no scrapping it off, it’s there. For $ 28 you would think you’d get miso soup or salad but you just get the sushi. We got the carrot cake which has«10 layers» but the cake is tiny, not what you would expect when the menu talks about 10 layers, the layers are super tiny and there isn’t much icing on the side(you could see the cake through it). Over $ 100 later and I left disappointed. The restaurant is nicely designed and the food was served nicely but won’t be returning.

This is a surprisingly beautiful and large place with an elegant style and artistic décor. The food was wonderful, carefully made and presented. Service was wonderful as well. Can’t wait to go back for the famous brunch there.

Visited: Monday — September 7, 2015(Labor Day) — 5:15PM Normally, I’m home grilling mass quantities of meat however, there is always a first. My lady friend and I had no firm plans but, since dinner time was approaching, we decided to enjoy the last unofficial day of summer searching for a suitable eatery. We drove to Lancaster Ave in Ardmore where it appeared all the eateries were closed. We continued our lazy drive up Lancaster Road and found Azie on Main. There was no indication that Azie was open but, I drove to the rear of the building where Azie is located and parked. We were greeted by Azie employees that granted our request to dine outside on the inviting patio. We chose a table covered by shade but, with a prefect view of the sun-drenched patio. It wasn’t long however, when a persistent wasp forced us to dine indoors. Inside was a beautifully appointed décor. We sat at a booth where we ordered Kobe Spring rolls, crab spring rolls, seaweed salad, avocado salad, Filet Toban Yaki. We were happy with our food but special attention is reserved for the Filet Toban Yaki — it was cooked to perfection with a taste hard to surpass. The service was expertly handled by an attentive Raymond. …not a classic way to spend Labor Day but, an enjoyable alternative.

We had never been here and several weeks ago we went to check it out. We sat at the half empty bar for five minutes before being greeted. We ordered a cocktail and a Sapporo. The cocktail was passable, but a bit watery. We then ordered a salad with grilled tofu. After the second bite my fiancée found what appeared to be a hair. She informed the bartender, who promptly said, «O that’s just a bristle from one of the basting brushes. Not a big deal.» That was it. He simply brushed(pun intended) it off and walked away. Not to mention that the tofu came in undercooked slabs plopped atop the salad. Needless to say, the experience was lousy. It looks«upscale» but the look was where it ended. Never again.

Came on a Sunday for the brunch special. Very assorted menu. From fruit, salad, omelettes, and French toast to sushi, dumplings, veggies, and noodles. Unlimited for $ 23/person doesn’t break the bank. Something different for a special occasion. Good fresh food. Our servers name was Raymond and he was extremely courteous and had a great personality. All in all pleasurable experience

Went for happy hour on a weekday. Pros: Pretty good deal. Sushi was great! Filet toban yaki was pretty awesome as well. Manhattan was great. Cons: Hostess was kind of sour. Service was inattentive. Waited 10 min for hot sauce.

Came here for brunch today for Father’s Day with my family for the first time. The selection considering a buffet is less than what you imagine at regular buffet but the quality of the food was good and I enjoyed everything I tried. I normally hate the buffet but I really did enjoy this place and considering the food selection and quality of food it’s definitely worth the $ 23. They do Sunday brunch for $ 23 and it comes with a free glass of Mimosa. I will definitely be coming back to this place again. Only thing is the place is a bit hidden behind the buildings. Make sure to try to tilapia and salmon ceviche. The wings were good too.

Great brunch deal! For $ 23, you get an unlimited buffet with a complimentary mimosa. It sounds weird but part of the buffet is sushi. The sushi wasn’t outstanding but was simple and fresh. All you can eat sushi always wins in my book. A few minor details that we’ve noticed after having been for brunch a few times: –We always have to ask our server for the mimosa. They have never asked us if we wanted the complimentary drinks. –The menu is always the same. Always! It could use a little variety on a week to week basis.

I’ve been wanting to try out Azie on Main for a while. Last week, I came here for lunch with a colleague. The restaurant looks incredibly nice inside. It’s very stylish and sophisticated, and would definitely be a nice setting for a date or even a girls’ night. However, the food is just ok. I had a lunch entrée set. The meal started off with miso soup, and was followed by chicken stir fry and a california roll. I could’ve cooked the stir fry at home, and the sushi was quite mediocre. Everything was cooked properly though — chicken and vegetables were perfectly cooked. Service was nothing outstanding, but good enough. I work nearby, and usually get take out for lunch(bad, I know…). I wouldn’t be surprised if I come here again when I run out of options, but I wouldn’t come here for a nice dinner with my husband or friends.

This review is limited to the simply bodacious Sunday brunch buffet we enjoyed. Folks, this is the best value in dining… anywhere. There is a full range of breakfast options, including omlettes made to order, breakfast meats, and sliced filet, as well as a a broad range of asian fare including dumplings, sushi, and sushi rolls… all made fresh, right in front of you. I believe we paid about $ 25/person and felt that the overall quality of the food was very good. If you are in the Main Line area and looking for Sunday brunch options, this is it. You will need to call ahead for reservations as it can get booked.

Azie on Main offers a great Sunday brunch. Complete with sushi, filet, and the standard American Breakfast, Azie will hit the spot for just 24 bucks, along with a free Mimosa. Located in the back of a shopping center right off of Villanova Campus, Azie offers a nice and dark interior with plenty of space for dining. The buffet is adequate and the sushi, extremely fresh. Unlike other buffets that may offer sushi Azie is always refilling the rolls as soon as the plate expires. Filet Mignon was on point, cooked well, but served a little on the cold side. They also offer an omelet bar, and I would like to add that their pad thai like dish was great. Finally, the desserts are on point. Mini-tarts and cakes were yummy, mini cheesecakes not so much. Service was appropriate but nothing to wow you to come back the following week. A hidden gem in the Villanova neighborhood.

There are times in life when things just combine to create great experiences. For example: 1. Driving down Lancaster Ave in Villanova with Faithful Dining Companion, and she says«I wonder what the deal is with that restaurant Azie?» 2. Yanno, I just read a great review from Steven B on Unilocal talking about the fabulous Sunday brunch there. They have both the usual items and apparently also sushi and asian fare. 3. FDC: Oh, wow! Rev. Baby Back Ribs(her hubby of 18 years) loves sushi! Let’s go there for his birthday, before we head over to the Panto at People’s Light! It’s on the way! This is how we ended up with hands down enjoying the very best brunch to be had on the Main Line. The Patriarch, the Rev. Dr. Steak, Pastor Baby Back Ribs, Faithful Dining Companion, the Young ‘Uns and I headed over there for a pre-show celebration. We were originally six, however happily accommodated at 7 when the Patriarch decided to join last-minute. The space itself is beautiful, with lots of dark wood, muted lighting, very clean lines and natural elements. There’s a feeling of impeccable sophistication without being pretentious. It’s a huge space, but it doesn’t feel cavernous nor do you feel cramped in with too-many tables. We were seated graciously, and offered the buffet as it’s the only brunch option on Sundays. No problem. To an item, the food was outstanding, fresh, and never suffered from ‘steam tray syndrome’(where sitting on hot steamy water turns food to tasteless mush). La Famiglia’s personal favorites: The kobe filet mignon, the steamed dumplings, the bacon, the crab and cream cheese egg rolls, the kobe beef spicy noodles that were actually spicy, salmon, sushi, fresh fruit, french toast and the bite-sized desserts. Our wait service was quite efficient and friendly. We did not partake of any of the alcohol for a variety of no-we’re-not-presbyterian reasons. I love good champagne and mimosas. Azie on Main is now our #1 family brunch spot. Heck, the Patriarch came over yesterday(Monday) and wanted to go back then… alas, ONLY on Sundays, Dad.

Sunday brunch at Azie must be one of the best kept secrets in the area. I figure it’s still a secret because if more people knew about the quality of food you get for the price I’d expect a line out the door every weekend. Despite having lived a mile down the road from Azie for the past four years(and seeing the signs along Lancaster advertising Sunday brunch many times), I never stopped in until early last Sunday afternoon. As the hostess took us to our table, I had a slight panic attack because I hadn’t bothered to check prices at all and the buffet we walked past looked like it could command a damn high price. I was shocked(and relieved) to read a tip on Unilocal that the brunch is only $ 23(which includes a free champagne or mimosa!). The food combination is a little eclectic. More typical brunch items like sausage and bacon are scattered across Asian-influenced foods like sushi, fried rice, and dumplings. That said, everything I tried was amazing. Dumplings, crab and cream cheese spring rolls, fried rice, mango glazed salmon«cakes», slices of filet mignon– all incredible. For $ 10/drink there is also a bloody mary bar– although I have to say I was a little disappointed by this. There weren’t too many garnish options and I shied away from the house mix when the bartender said it was wasabi based(not a big wasabi fan). For ten bucks I’m not really too enthusiastic about doing the exact same thing I do at home for 1⁄5 of the price. White Dog(a couple miles down the road) offers a bloody mary(labor included) with their brunch that is orders of magnitude better than anything I could make here for around the same price. After eating way more than I should have, the check arrived and the price was indeed only $ 23/person. This has to be the best deal in the area and is almost unbelievable– I don’t understand how these guys stay in business. This brunch competes with brunches I have had elsewhere that were more than 4 times the cost of Azie. The food was so overwhelmingly good that I almost forgot to mention service and ambiance. Service was fine(friendly and attentive– empty plates were cleared quickly to make room for new ones!) and the ambiance inside is very nice. Well decorated and trendy. There appeared to be a really cool looking area on the patio outside the entrance that might serve as outdoor seating in the warmer months? Excited to give it a try in the summer if so. If you haven’t tried Azie for brunch yet cancel any plans for next Sunday and go! Unless you hate food, you will not regret it.

Perhaps the finest BUFFETBRUNCHVALUE on the mainline @ $ 23! The lovely wife and I had an excellent dinner here in May(previous review) and learned of the Sunday brunch. We returned and found it simply amazing. It was so good and such a tremendous value that this week was our fourth visit! So what would you say about omelets made to order, a free mimosa, and twenty or thirty buffet choices, and UNLIMITEDFILETMIGNON for $ 23! «What the hell» you say, «how come I’m missing this!» First, a word about the atmosphere– This is an elegant restaurant with beautiful décor. What’s great is you can still dress casually. There will be some folks dressed up but that’s the exception and definitely not the rule. Nice jeans are not a problem here. Second, another word about the customer service– I realize you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to staff a buffet but never the less our servers have always been excellent. Our plates have been cleared quickly and our drinks served promptly. Third– What is the adult libation situation? There is a solid, inventive specialty drink list and also many wines available by the glass. Expect most to set you back about $ 10. Don’t forget that your first mimosa is complementary! Finally, WHATABOUTTHEIRFOOD? I know it sounds strange but they offer both American and Japanese choices. On the American side there is an omelet station, bacon, sausage, crepes, chicken wings, veges, the all-important filet mignon and on and on. The Japanese side includes a large assortment of Sushi rolls and Nigiri. There is much much more and you can check the web site for a more detailed list. A Sunday buffet brunch can be pricey on the Mainline. These folks are so affordable that instead of making brunch a destination event you can just say«Let’s go!»
