Repost of my google review: The food by itself is always very good, service and atmosphere is notably horrid. The ladies that work the counter couldn’t care less about the customers or cleaning up. They take you’re order then its straight back to their cell phone or laptops. The place is kept minimally clean and the silverware/sauce area is questionable at best most days. I would suggest getting your food to go rather than sitting in the place. I actually mentioned to one of the girls they were out of forks one time with a to-go order, and I kid you not, she walked over, eyed the container then grabbed a plastic fork that had fallen and was sitting on the counter next to the container and offered it to me like I was supposed to put that thing in my mouth. She literally couldn’t take 1 minute to refill the silverware for a customer and offer a clean utensil.

Stopped in for lunch today. It’s been 7+ years since I’ve been so I was due back for a visit. Besides, I wanted something different. I ordered the seafood BBQ platter — katsu chicken, Hawaiian BBQ chicken, and two pieces of fried shrimp. Overall, the meal was good. I wouldn’t say stellar. I preferred the katsu chicken over the Hawaiian BBQ. There were only two pieces of shrimp but I found this to be a delicious addition. This platter was served with a small salad(meh), macaroni salad(thumbs up), and a small portion of rice(Do these folks even know who I am? A small portion?). The table that I sat at to eat was a little dirty… or at least felt dirty as if there was an invisibile layer of dried up «stuff» from meal after meal. You could sort of seat it and feel it. I was there at 11:15am so I know this had to be a cleaning issue from the previous night. A damp rag and some cleaner goes a long way.

I will stand by this restaurant and say… This is the best food I have ever had. My favorite dish to have there is the Kalbi Short ribs. Every dish comes with a scoop of rice and macaroni salad, unless you request otherwise… Though honestly I’m not all that crazy about thier fries. But that is a small minor scrape in comparison to that flavor majesty of thier menu. Granted I have been coming to this place for years. The prices have a gone up by a dollar or so every year. But thinking about that as a business POV that’s inevitable especially if you want to keep serving quality food. But don’t let that deter you. It’s worth every penny to witness the sweet tangy Kalbi sauce splayed across the tender, well seasoned ribs. I even like to put the Kalbi sauce on my rice(it’s so good). While your in the mood wash it down with some Aloha Tea, which is a mixture of sweet tea, coffee and Chai. I love that stuff. It’s a little getting used to but it grows on you fast. It’s clearly a family owned business and they do catering as well. Don’t just take my word for it. Experience it for yourself! You won’t regret it.

I love Aloha! I think it was much better before when it first opened, it used to be mad cheap back in the day. It’s still cheap, but they’ve upped their prices. It used to be our go-to spot before or after going to the beach, and they give alot of food for a cheap price. I usually get the Hawaiian BBQ Mix: BBQ Chicken, BBQ Beef & Kalbi Short Ribs + 2 sides. I think it’s like $ 8 now. It comes with rice, salad, and a side. I usually get the macaroni salad, I think the other options are fries or potato salad? I forgot. The Thai tea is also delish. I hear their Pad Thai, Mahi Mahi, Spam Moco, and Loco Moco are good too. You order the food then sit down and they bring it to you. It’s feels like a local hole in the wall spot, like you’re just at home. Just a tip, the parking lot is pretty small.

When I think of why am barbecue, the first thing that comes to mind is the sweet sweet taste of macaroni salad. While macaroni salad won’t completely fulfill any type of dinner craving, you’ll find different chicken, beef, and seafood options here to settle the remaining rumble in your belly. — Friendly service — Inexpensive prices — Small parking lot — Fast service I ordered the Chicken combo($ 8.95) that comes with breaded Katsu chicken and BBQ chicken served with your choice of side(macaroni of coarse!). The plate also comes with a small refreshing salad to get you going. I enjoyed this plate as the chicken was moist and flavorful. It definitely fulfilled my Hawaiian BBQ craving. The price point is a plus as well. You can find some sauce for the Katsu near the register in the front, which tastes like and even mixture of soy sauce and teriyaki sauce. I don’t know what’s up with the Siracha sauce but it is not as pasty as usual, and seems water down.
