Atlantic Garden Center Warehouse

I live in the neighborhood right behind Atlantic Garden Center and was very excited to go and purchase some plants for my home from a local neighborhood business. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed in the service I received. I was not greeted or offered assistance by anyone. I tried to find what I needed by myself for about 10 minutes before asking someone for help. The employee was fine, directing me to what I needed. My problem is with the owner’s wife who was operating the check-​out. I was not greeted by her in any way as I began to set my plants up on the register. Not even so much as a smile. I am trying to pick up several large plants as I also keep an eye on my 2 young children who were being very well-​behaved, just walking around close by looking at the cats. The lady offers me no help, she only says «You really need to watch her» referring to my 2 year old daughter who is close by, not disturbing anything. What a rude comment to make to a mother trying to purchase plants from your business! She then offers me no assistance as I clearly struggle to get my large cart out of the store while carrying my 2 year old and keeping my 4 year old nearby. Finally, her kind husband sees me while outside and helps me push and unload my cart. He was very kind and I really appreciated his help. It is very unfortunate that his wife was so rude. I will not be back to give this store any more of my business after the way I was treated by that woman. She really needs a lesson in customer service.

I went to check out this location to see if they had any seed packets out this early because no one else does and spent awhile just browsing and looking around at what they had. I was of course one of the only people (customers) there (mainly because we start our seedlings now & I’m a garden nut, lol). But, it was very nice inside and they still had a really good selection of plants for indoor use and had a lot of outdoor plants as well. I believe the person working there was one of the owners (an older gentleman) and he also had his grandson helping out (he was around 6 and totally adorable!). He was very helpful with his knowledge of the specific plants that I was asking about and the one he wasn’t sure about, he went and looked up for me. I have a ton of respect for people that say they don’t know something and go look it up rather than guessing and telling me something completely wrong. He was incredibly nice and helpful!!! I would go back here just to be able to deal with him! Their prices were around average to a bit lower for a garden center. What I really liked was that they had very small plants available for cheap (around $ 1 – 2) so you don’t have to fork over the big bucks for an adult plant. They also will re-​plant a plant that your buying from them if the roots are needing a bigger pot, for free! (Basically just another plastic container size up). It’s hard to find anyone doing anything for free now a days.
On a side note, they have a greenhouse cat that is totally a love bug and very cute! The cat came running up to me from across the outdoor greenhouse just to get some love!
This trip completely made my day! I left there with the biggest smile on my face because of the good deals I got, the actually had good quality seed packets already, knowledge I gained, the love of a cat, the help and courtesy of the owner and the incredible cuteness & help of the grandson who also rang up my items. I definitely recommend this garden center above all others!
