Fish tacos are amazing, staff are friendly and informative. The wait is not long at all, and very central to other convenient places.

As a franchise, I think that things should always be consistent. I’ve never had any complains about this place, until I came through last week for a birthday. We came on a Saturday night and it was super busy. Thankfully we had a reservation saved for seven, and were seated right away. Our waitress seemed real rushed, though she was very nice. I always get the firecracker shrimp for my appetizer, and the shrimp creole rice bowl for dinner! Can you tell, I love shrimp! :) Unfortunately, when I got my meal, the rice was super under cooked! Rice shouldn’t crunch at all when you bite into it! Our waitress was barely around, and when she was, I never had the chance to let her know about the food. Nor did I want to wait another 25 minutes for my meal. I took a couple bites and took it home. A little water in a sauce pan over medium heat the next day = perfect rice! Their cocktails are good, as well! Just be warned that any of their frozen cocktails are super weak. I’m barely over 100 lbs, so I think that’s saying something, lol! It never stops me from ordering a frozen Bahamarita or that drink in the pineapple though! Yummmm.

Stopped in on a Thursday night around 5, we were NOT impressed. We ordered Firecracker Shrimp which we NEVER received and the Chicken Quesadillas which were ice cold in the middle. I ordered their Chicken Tortilla Soup which I found pretty good! My husband ordered the BBQ and bacon burger; he got a bacon and cheddar burger. The waitress didn’t ask him how he even wanted it cooked, it was one of the driest burgers I’ve ever tasted and was almost grey in the middle. I ordered the Jerk Chicken Pasta as my entrée and found it bland bland bland! I normally take leftovers home — not this time. The service wasn’t much better than the food, our waitress was nice, however she came back once 10 minutes after we got our food. She came back one more time after we were long done eating and we’re both making it painfully obvious that we were looking for our waitress. We will not be back after missing, incorrect, and bland food; along with subpar service.

I was visiting from out of town and my mother was telling me I had to try this spot called Bahama Breeze so we went and the atmosphere almost makes you forget your in Virginia! Palm trees, reggae music etc. For drinks, I ordered a Zombie which was tasty and my mom ordered a coconut mojito which was amazing! P. s when you come here you have to try the black bean soup

They had really fast service and the food was great. The drinks were worth the price. We got two for happy hour and they were huge frozen margaritas. My mom and I did a paint nite there and they were very accommodating.

I’ve been coming to Bahama Breeze for a long time. The appetizers are always so great especially the chicken tostones! It’s a must have. The drinks are pretty crazy sometimes. I need to experiment more with the drinks though. The crazy concoctions sometimes don’t agree with my palate. The entrée I got this time was the Jerk Chicken Pasta and it was really great! I like that they didn’t drown the food in the jerk pesto sauce. It was very well portioned into the meal and I was stuffed! My waiter was Jordan and he gave extremely great service. I always had my beverage full and he was very attentive with his service. I had a very nice night and always enjoy being here! 4 stars for food, but 5 stars for service!

Bahama Breeze has always been great to me. Especially the happy hour, since apps are then half priced. Perfect time to do some sampling of the apps around that time as well as adult beverages. I’m one for sitting outside and enjoying your food and the outside deck is good for that, especially those warm summer nights. My go-to’s are the Lobster-Shrimp Quesadilla, Coconut Shrimp(I’m not a coconut fan and I love this), and the Chicken Adobo Street tacos. Diamond who works there is the sweetest, she deserves to be a manager in my opinion. I have been there many times and she has always taken care of me and my guests.

Shrimp and grits… there’s alot of shrimp… which im not used to seeing its a good thing. The vegetables taste fresh and the food is good quality. However i wouldn’t compare this or put it in the catagory of caribeen food. As my husband got the jerk chicken and it didnt have a sauce or gravy, it was good but dry. Seriously can’t eat all this shrimp…30 min later update we paid our bill and still waiting on getting it back in addition ill not we didnt recieve silverware until we asked for it after our app came out. And it toom long to get our drinks after we place the order for the water and sweet tea. So while the food was good it took long for everything, very slow moving night for a monday half empty

Bahama Breeze recently updated their menu and replaced some of the popular items, like the yuca, with«fancier» versions. So, the yuca now comes out as «cheese balls» or yuca stuffed with cheese and coated with breading. While it wasn’t bad, I don’t understand why the restaurant would mess with something so delicious and pure as yuca. The tostones were served to us so crispy I may as well have been eating plantain chips from a bag. The drinks are incredibly cheap, averaging around $ 7 for a cocktail. I’m from D.C. and the same drinks would have been double the price. The service was good and Scott(our waiter) made sure to give us honest recommendations regarding the food selection. The vegetarian selection is sparse, but they do serve a veggie burger and some sides/appetizers. Overall, a good spot for groups and happy hours.

Chain or not, I dig it. Nice people. Good food. Chill music. Tasty drinks. I’m a fan of the beef empanadas. That dish alone will usually fill me up. Okay, maybe not alone. Maybe with 2 – 3 Painkillers(cocktails, not drugs). The yuca fries are really good, too. I’ve tried most of the non-shellfish entrees & I have no complaints. Those empanadas, though… Mmmmmm… I haven’t had a bad drink from there, either. I’ve had weak ones at this location, though. If you want them strong, I recommend sitting right at the bar. Yes, 2 – 3 Painkillers. You don’t know my tolerance! lol After three, the party really begins. :)

Food has a lot of flavor. I tried something with«jerk» sauce. Yeah right. Tasted more like barbecue sauce with a slight punch. Real tasty but a far, FAR cry from authentic jerk. Conch fritters are similar to deep-frying scallops, which is something I just can’t approve. But that’s a personal preference. Pan-seared all the way, please. I enjoyed the pulled pork and some other appetizers I can’t recall. Oh, and of course the rum cake. Every freakin time. Also, the staff offers a lot more than what you’d expect from a super busy and popular chain restaurant on the weekends. For that, Bahama Breeze is OK with me.

Firecracker shrimp is my favorite. Overall great experience, been there more than twice & no disappointments. The only thing that bothers me is the lighting, eyes hurt after being in there longer than an hour, maybe it’s just me. Tasty food. Good drinks for happy hour. Great service.

Interesting place. I love how you can sit outside. It has a view of the parking lot, but it’s still outside. The shrimp appetizer was very good. The shrimp fritters were also tasty. They had entertainment that night. The band was interesting as was the fortune teller and fire person. Our first bartender was not my favorite but then another one took off. I was glad.

Been here quite a few times and have always enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. My last visit here I ordered their loaded nachos and was surprised to find curry beef in it, i was expecting the typical run-of-the-mill nachos But oh no! These were loaded with island flavor!

I had received a response from management and which was greatly appreciated and we decided to go ahead and re-try this place for dinner. Started with the coconut shrimp and they were very good. I really do all the small plates and the apps from here. Dinner we went for the same things as last time. Steak Oscar, one ordered medium rare and one medium well. Both came out as medium, better then last time but still not correct. As far from service goes. It was better. Still a lot of waiters/waitress/hostess/busser all standing around the entrance but no one vacumming as we eat or asking the same question 3x. It was a more enjoyable dinning experience this time

Came here with Isaac around dinner time on a busy Friday night, the wait wasn’t long at all either. We were told 45 minutes; however, we waited 25 minutes tops. After we were seated, we did have to wait a little bit before our waiter arrived to the table, but there was wall to wall people, so I understand and it wasn’t a big deal. As soon as the our waiter came the service was excellent. He was in it down to the fact that I wanted two cups of ranch, and that Isaac wanted no tomatoes and extra seasoning. Now onto the delicious food and cocktails, to start we got beef empanadas, chips and salsa, I got an ultimate piña colada, and Isaac got a bahamarita. For the main courses I got fish tacos and Isaac got pasta. Everything was delicious on my end, I also appreciate that their fish tacos aren’t fried. Growing up in the Norfolk /Virginia beach, one can’t help but have seafood as the staple of one’s diet. Crabs, shrimp, scallops, lobster, and most importantly fish. One of my favorite seafood dishes … No dishes period are fish tacos. Even though Bahama breeze carries the stigma of being a «chain restaurant» it still tussels with the best of them when it comes to their fish tacos. The service at this location is excellent as well.

This place is a great one for: –people that love Caribbean, Latin, seafood dishes –like beach-sweet-girly drinks(e.i piña colada) –have a date lined up, don’t have much $$ but can still make an impression spot. I loved the seasoning, the sweet drinks, and the Caribbean feel, deff recommend to sit at the bar-inside or out for the full experience!

Great service! I left the bar(too much air blowing in my face) and moved to the patio. I ordered spinach dip and Tortilla chips, onion rings, portobello sandwich, and asparagus. Everything was great except my sandwich. It wasn’t flavorful at all. I wish they had more vegetarian options. Laid back atmosphere. Very clean.

I’ve only been here a couple of times, and although it’s never blown me away I’ve never had any real issues with it. But my most recent experience was unsettling enough for me to go ahead and leave a review. For me, when it comes to service my biggest qualm is being ignored. I don’t like it when me or anyone in my party has to constantly raise our hands like we’re in grade school to get our server’s attention. It implies a lack of respect towards the customer and it’s subtle reminder that the server doesn’t care much for the job or its requirements. Those ideas were displayed one evening when a friend and I visited their bar before hitting up a movie. I arrived first and was quickly greeted by a friendly bartender-server. She took my drink order and gave me a menu since I said I was going to have dinner. But that was the last time I had any interaction with her since I was presumably«handed off» to a male bartender-server working with her. By that time my friend arrived and we spent time catching up. Neal wanted a beer and that’s when the hand-raising began. The female came over after a minute, took his drink order and quickly disappeared to pre-close. The guy server was within earshot sweeping up and pre-closing, too. Neal and I continued to chat but I wanted dinner. We had time so I waited. We discussed the menu because we noticed a chicken adobo taco and wondered how it might taste(both Neal and I are Filipino-Americans which means we have to compare it to our moms’ cooking). This is where the male server interjected, stating that, of course, it wouldn’t be as good as home but that it would embody the overall taste and idea of chicken adobo. Not a bad observation, but that is the only time he or any of the other servers actually paid any attention to us. So after raising MY hand to flag down a server, I opted against the chicken adobo tacos and got fish tacos. Since the fish tacos were an entrée(and not an appetizer, like the chicken adobo tacos) they came with a side — fries. After that Neal and I continued chatting and watched some of the NCAA Men’s basketball tournament on TV. It had been a good 20 – 30 minutes and no sign of my tacos, so I had to raise my hand AGAIN just to get a server’s attention to ask about my food. The guy server who commented on the chicken adobo apologized and went back to check. He came back with the tacos but not the fries, upon which he told me that he would come back with the fries when they were ready, and reasoned that he at least wanted to get me my entrée. Good lookin’ out from that perspective, but I realized afterwards I wasn’t given any silverware. There was a side of guacamole which came with the tacos and I wanted to put some in my food. I don’t want to use my fingers and I wanted at least the napkin to wipe my face with, so I walked over to the hostess stand to get it. I’m nearly done with my tacos and my fries still haven’t been delivered. Since the dish clearly stated it comes with a side, and since the server stated he would come right back with them I felt it a necessity those fries be given to me. Of course, I had to raise my hand, again, to get someone’s attention. And again, the guy had to walk back to the kitchen to get my side. He came over, gave me my fries and apologized for the wait. It’s around this time I noticed that a third bartender was chatting it up with a patron… who was sitting right next to me! She went the entire duration of my visit ignoring Neal and I for this other customer(whom I figured was a regular, based on how much they were chatting it up) and she wasn’t doing any pre-closing like the other two bartenders whom I interacted with. This had me pretty upset. Neal decided he wanted to get a dessert, but because of the long wait for my tacos he opted against ordering. We felt by the time he got the dessert we’d miss the movie. Good call from that perspective. We had to flag down a bartender for our checks and when we paid the guy who helped us apologized again for the wait. In my opinion it was not enough since he seemingly chose convenient times to actually pay attention to us. Somehow he can find the time to interject in to our conversation when he’s a good 3 feet away but I can’t get his attention when I actually need his help. Then he’s working with two other people — one who’s too busy with pre-closing to come back and serve me after getting me my first drink; another too busy talking to a customer to even look in our direction. At the least, these three have no concept of teamwork and at that moment valued pre-closing and talking to regulars over actually serving customers who could potentially become regulars. Instead, Bahama Breeze will be lucky to see me back. But to stress, this is only one bad incident, and in past visits I haven’t had any issues. But it was slow and we weren’t overly demanding. JV
