I’m not gonna lie. we weren’t all that eager walking in this past Monday on Memorial Day. Our go-to spot, Tida Thai, was closed for the holiday when we were craving some Thai. This was the next closest place and they happened to be open. and busy! It was a few minutes before we were seated. The staff seemed to have their hands full on this Monday afternoon! After we were seated, it was another few minutes before we were greeted, so we had time to decide what we wanted. We ordered all at once. The timing was a little off on the drinks as we had to wait about 10 minutes before they arrived at the same time as our salad and spring rolls. I can’t speak to the spring rolls, but the salad was fresh and had just the right amount of dressing. For our entrees, we chose Pad Thai with beef and I had Pad Kao Ped with chicken. Both were delicious and offered plenty for a 2nd meal! We also had the fresh spring rolls with chicken. The sauce served with these was warm, something I’m not used to, and the chicken in the rolls was very dry, so I’d skip this appetizer next time. Overall, food and service was good and I would certainly return. The only other downside was that it seemed that they don’t have a lunch menu(or didn’t serve one on the holiday) and prices were steep for lunch, but I did appreciate the portion sizes for the higher price.

I ate here last night with my boyfriend’s family for dinner. We got there around 7PM with a group of 6. No one was at the front so we weren’t seated yet and when a waitress finally asks us how many people there were in our group, she tells us we must sit and wait. Finally we are seated and our drinks and appetizers are served after about 10 – 15 minutes. We ordered the fish cakes, calamari, & fried tofu. The appetizers were all very tasty and the fish cake was unexpectedly sweet when it looks like it wouldn’t be. Our food didn’t arrive until an hour later. The waitress didn’t check up on us often and it may be because we were seated in the corner, pretty much hidden. There was a birthday party in the same room about twice as many people as our group and there were only like 2 – 3 servers I’ve seen in the restaurant. I ordered the Vegetarian Pad Thai Jay. It was very good and very hot. Portion is perfect and it had a decent price. I might come back again with a smaller group next time.

Delicious lunch with great prices. I’ve been here twice now at different times of the day and haven’t been dissapointed. The beef pad see ew is the only thing I get because I don’t like spicy food and it’s delicious. The beef isn’t tough or chewy and the noodles are cooked well, almost pillowy soft. I was unsure of why they put a lime on the plate, I didn’t think lime juice went over top of a dish like that, but when I did, it brought a tang and another level of flavor to the dish. Only when dining in do you also get a side salad, thr egg roll comes carry out and/or eat in. The egg roll is good but the vegetables on the salad are always cut too thick and even after cutting it, it’s still hard to eat. I will definitely come again.

Absolutely the best Thai in Hampton roads hands down. Any of the pad thias are a winner. The masman curry is wonderful. Spring rolls amazing, coconut soup will make you slap your momma. Great tasting food all around. Freaking fantastic service every single time. Love love love the place.

I’m in here about once a week. Usually I order the masman curry, steamed veggie spring rolls and the veggie soup! I’m never disappointed! Service is awesome, food is awesome and it’s very clean. It’s close to town center but far enough away that you’ll never have to deal with lack of parking, waiting for a table and crowds. Bring an appetite and a friend because portions are generous!

Good portions and good prices. This is one of our preferred haunts when it comes to Thai cuisine. The currys are particularly flavorful and can be adjusted to taste with respect to heat. One of the favorites has turned out to be the pumpkin curry, a dish we recommend. Really we have not had a bad dish yet so be adventurous and try something new. I don’t think you will be disappointed. One caution; the little house salad they provide with the ginger dressing is not what you would expect if you are imagining the house salads of American cuisine restaurants. For kids, there are child portions of some dishes such as Pad Thai, a dish even the milder taste buds of a kid will likely enjoy.

The service was great. We got seated as soon as we got in. The atmosphere was very laid back and the décor was great. Our coconut shrimp soup was delicious, it was creamy and a little spicy. Their pad thai unfortunately was not as flavorful. Other than that, we had a great time.

One of my favorite Thai places in Hampton Roads. I always get their Pad Thai or Drunken noodles. Their green curry is good too. They are usually pretty quick service wise, and the Thai tea you get one free refill! The restaurant is also big enough to accommodate big group, and the décor is beautiful. Love this place! :)

I love going here. I always get the pad Thai here but every once in a while I’ll get the panang curry. The Thai tea here is great! You also get one free refill. Which I like very much. If you’re craving Thai food the I recommend going here.

Even when it is snowing out and 2:30pm, they are still busy! That is how good this place is. I wasn’t sure what I wanted so I came in and ordered. I was happy to learn that their lunch menu hours go till 4pm. I ordered the shrimp and tofu pad thai for myself and shrimp fried rice for my husband. For both, it came out to just under $ 19, can’t beat that! I really like to add the chili powder so I asked for some to go, a little goes a long way! I was shocked at how large the portions were. I expected smaller portions because the lunch prices are a good $ 5 cheaper than dinner portions, but I’d say they are the same size. It also came with a spring roll.

I mean… this is my spot! I love going in with a few colleagues to get some thai grub! While I usually get(13 star spicy with my Pad Thai). I decided to give myself a break and drop down to 5 stars today as I ordered green curry. The servers there are always pleasant. Although I started my new years diet(we’ll see how long that last), I will tell you to order the Thai tea(yes with a free refill) if the servers really like you there’s word you’ll get a to-go cup with more! :) The green curry comes with peppers, peas, a side of rice and your choice of meat. I usually go with chicken for most of the dishes I get and there is never a time I’ve regreted it. If you go the Pad Thai route(good for starters in Thai food), the Pad-Thai Jay is great also(vegetables instead of meat). Before getting your meal, you get some pretty good salad with a ginger-ish dressing and a great vegetable roll to dip into the side of sweet and sour sauce. Do yourself a favor and go! Feel free to invite me.

Best part is they have Very spicy food! They went full on thai spicy which was great. Their tom yum goong was good although i wish it had less tomatoes in it. spicy! The lunch curry dish was disappointing. I could only taste coconut milk and spicy. Couldn’t find the curry flavor there and despite the amount of spices in it, the flavors were pretty flat. Not enough meat in the curry too. Lots of ginger bell peppers and stuff u don’t really eat. It was a veggie curry with some meat. Quite disappointed– had high hopes for this place. Giving it 3 stars because of the great service.

I visited for the first time Oct. 29th, and was surprised. I ordered the Kang Panang with shrimp, it was delish and priced right. There was a small lunch crowd present, which suited me fine, because I didn’t have to wait for my food. The waitress was extremely pleasant and patient as it took me some time to combed over the menu. I will certainly return to try another dish, because there is plenty to choose. Thank you Bangkok Garden!

We’re new to Thai food and we love this place! My favorite items are the Kao Pad and the coconut soups. The atmosphere is very nice, quiet and peaceful. We also like their sweet mango rice, cheesecake and Thai teas! Servers are also very nice and patient. I love that they always offer to pack your drink refill to go. When we visit, we usually get 1 appetizer(or two soups), 2 dinners and 2 desserts. This usually runs us about $ 50. You can see their menu online and, they’re currently working on their online ordering feature! Definitely worth visiting especially if you can’t get seated at the surrounding restaurants.

In my 30 years of living in Hampton Roads I still feel like this is the best Thai food place around(particularly this location). I’ve read some poor reviews on here about the service and food issues and they are probably rightly justified, but my experiences there have always been fantastic. I’m thinking it has to do with the fact that my group comes here pretty frequently so we’ve gotten to know the waitresses. We always have our toddlers with us and they are always so good with them and have watched them grow up since they were little babies. I’m not well versed in Thai cuisine and always order the same Pad See Iw but it’s been consistently good for me. My friends who do like to explore the menu always enjoy their food and have had no issues. I will say that if we do get a waitress that isn’t our normal one, the service isn’t as great so I can see where the other reviews might be coming from. We also always get free Thai tea refills and to-go cups, but again, it might be because we know our waitress so well. Go here knowing that it might be hit or miss. For me and my group it’s always a hit, but for others, it’s not so great. I definitely think it’s worth a try because other Thai restaurants I’ve tried just haven’t haven’t hit the mark like Bangkok Garden has.

My new favorite dish is the crab fried rice! This particular location isn’t the best, I think Ghent location is the best one but when I’m in this area, this will do. Crab fried rice with real crab meat is DELICIOUS! Add spices from the spice tray and you are good to go. Also, the Pad Thai was equally good. They use thinner noodles from other pad Thai dishes I’ve had. But flavor was still good
