Coastal Breeze Cafe

Enjoyed a couple of hot dogs and some fries — both were excellent. Fries were fresh cut and the hot dogs were Boars Head brand — quality ingredients. The server was very good and attentive. The place was very clean! We will be back.

I’ve visited this place today and was greeted when I walked in the door. I was ordering my food to go, the two young ladies took my order though it seemed that maybe one or maybe both of them were new. I ordered the Philly steak wrap and a hot dog combo plain. They asked if I wanted mayo on the wrap, I declined because I don’t like Mayo but I asked if I could have ranch instead. The lady told me that it will be extra to add ranch to my sandwich. So I asked if they charge to add mayo she said no then the cook, probably the owner? Stated that there would be no charge for the ranch instead of Mayo. That was cool. Now to the food, when we ordered they bragged on the french fries being fresh-​cut daily and that they were really good, I found they were fresh Cut but they weren’t really that good. If I were to visit them again I would definitely not order The fries. The hotdog was for my daughter and she said that it was good and the Philly cheesesteak wrap was pretty good. However it disturbed me very much to see that they prepare everything with no gloves. No gloves! They touch the food with their hands! I prayed over it and ate it but I tell you that thing bothers me because they also work the register, clean off the tables and do everything else. Also I asked about a military discount they stated that this only applies to an active-​duty personnel so since my husband wasn’t with me I didn’t qualify. I let them know how felt about that. All in all it was OK, almost $ 13 for a wrap, a hotdog and a small order of fries. I could’ve gone somewhere else but at least I can say I tried it.

This place we great very small details away from a 5 start there burgers were amazing I think it was just a little over cooked where it was starting to lose the moisture. the burgers were enough to fill you up which was nice to see instead of small McDonald’s or Steak ‘n Shake burgers where I have to eat 2 or 3 to get full my wife and son loved it !! We will be back !! The price was perfect and one of the most generous military % off !! Can’t wait to try more !

I’ve been looking for a good dog place close to my crib, ever since Pappy’s closed and I’m happy to say I’ve discovered a great little diner right down the road! Awesome Boar’s Head dog with descent chili, homemade fries and plenty of other tasty choices! I’ve eaten here several times and I’m sold!

We were visiting from out of town and had just taken a dolphin kayak tour close by. We were going to head to subway when we saw the the owner of coastal breeze café putting out a sign outside. They were not opening for another 10 minutes but he warmly welcomed us in! Upon getting in, he immediately came over to ask us where we were from and told us about the menu. One of us was a vegetarian and he gave us a great explanation of the veggie never! The service was prompt. The food was delicious. It felt like a home cooked meal. We will be back!

Great little find near Dam Neck/​Oceana. Had the hot dog and fries, very very good. The hot dog was delicious, enough flavor that I added nothing to it. The skin nice and grilled with a little «snap» when you bite into it, delicious.
Lets talk fries: WEST COAST people, do you miss In N Out fries? If so, do not fret, Coastal breeze has the same fresh cut fries… score!
Military discounts offered, fresh cut fries, friendly staff, flavorful food, we will be going back for sure.
The portions are a bit on the smaller side, but priced accordingly to the smaller portion. If they offered more combos (such as 2 hot dogs and fries, etc) and boosted the portion of fries I’d give it 5 stars. All in all it was a great place with good food, friendly service, and the In N Out fries I missed so dearly.

I wanted this place to be a better experience. I came in expecting your typical hot dog joint. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. First, they did not have a hot dog and burger combo. Perhaps there’s a problem with my own expectations here. I ordered the ultra burger with fries. It was only average and tasted like ground up «steak-​umms». My 9 year old son had the chili dog and fries, again only average (in fact, he said the hot dog was mushy). The fries were hand cut with some skin left on, which I did like. The cook, apparently also the owner, was very friendly and accommodating. The rest of the waitstaff was helpful, however I never did see a smile. They also had an employee dressed up like a hotdog, and if I had seen him prior to going into the restaurant I would not of been a customer. He was obnoxious and frankly a deterrent. I’d like to try this place again in the future, as I prefer to support local businesses. I hope this review was helpful and will be a benefit to the restaurant prompting them to make improvements.

We use to eat down the street but to our surprise they didn’t pay the bills so they were closed down. We are not from this area so we started at the new Harris Teeter and drove thur all the strip malls looking for a real Hot Dog (tuff skin) We were happy to see the closed Uncle All’s was reopened as Coastal Breeze Café. We walked in and found it be a clean place. We scanned over the menu, I got the plain and simple with fries selection, onions, mustard and chilly (.75 extra) and my wife got a hot dog with mustard and onions. They have chicken salad an I like chicken salad so I asked if I could try jus a taste. Well we sat waiting for 20 min for our order. Others were asking about their order and why it was taking so long. Our order showed up and the fries were fresh cut but not cooked property, they were under cooked and soft, like mash potatoes. Our hot dogs were boars head and cooked just right, but no mustard and a very very small amount of onions. The chili that I paid .75 extra for each dog looked and tasted like the one you get in the grocery store and was about a table spoon. The bun was a fancy bun, a good old steamed hot dog bun would have been nice. The little girl that waited I’m us was nice as she could be. The chicken salad was good and would be a good choice. Restaurants have good days and bad days, so we will go back for a second chance.

New restaurant in the strip mall. pretty standard menu with some homemade goodies. I decided to try the chicken salad wrap for 5 dollars. what I was presented with I would consider half of a sandwich. no sides no chips just a small wrap. The chicken salad itself was tasty. They were cutting hand cutting fries which looked pretty good as they were presented to the patron down from me. I may try them again to see if other items are served in bigger portions.

Great hot dogs, and excellent, friendly service. My girlfriend and I both had hot dogs with fries, mine with chili. It hit the spot! We enjoyed that they even gave us to go cups for our iced tea, and offered a military discount. We will definitely come back when we are next in the area!

Best hot dogs and burgers! The owner is also the cook! Great price and close to base. Would highly recommend!
