Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control Store

I usually rotate a few of my favorite ABC stores around my house. This one is not only convenient to my home, but is in an area that I frequent any way. However, the best thing about this store is the staff that comes across helpful and friendly on every visit.
The location is in the Haygood Shopping Center off of Independence. You will find Farm Fresh and Marshall as major anchors along with other desirable retail stores. The management company does a great job with the lot and store fronts. Parking is directly in front of the business which is good and bad. Be careful backing out, there will always be traffic behind you. I usually park just a shorter distance away during the a busy mid day so no backing is required.
This store is probably on the average size and typical ABC with cool displays. I have always found the place to be spic and span, even the merchandise. With this much inventory of bottles that is not an easy task to keep them dust free. Floors are kept clean at the entrance and it never fails that you get a hello at the door.
If your looking for something specific and in a hurry just ask the staff. They will quickly direct you and move you on your way. Remember that beer is not sold at VA ABC stores, these state stores only carry the hard stuff. If your looking for beer too, than head to Farm Fresh which has a fantastic beer selection in their large cooler.
Finally, let’s talk about the staff. They are knowledgeable, professional, dress appropriately (no saggy shorts), friendly and eager to help not only regulars, but all customers. Give them a try if in the area and you will agree that this is a cut above others.

I don’t always buy booze in Virginia… but when I do, it is always at the ABC store. Boy these stores have come along way since I was a kid, don’t ask. The store is clean and bright and well stocked and they have a decent representation of different kinds of booze at all price points. They have a ton of those little bottles like you get on an airplane, so if you don’t know what you want or want to try something different, this is your isle. Speaking of tying something different, they do free tastings, check their website for what and when. They also have a bunch of different gift sets, infused simple syrups and mixers. The only negative thing I can say is the staff is has no knowledge of the products, rather lame.

Sometimes places have a captive crowd the is a true captive crowd kinda place! If ya wanna but booze in Virginia you have to go to and ABC store. This sore is fairly new/​remodeled and relocated. It’s very clean host numerous tastings and the staff at this as most ABC store is very friendly!
