No one wants anyone they care about to die, even if it’s expected due to illness or old age. This is where HD Oliver Funeral Apartments came into our lives. My aunt had been sick for a while and my dad and I tried to come out to say goodbye. Halfway on our way there, she passed on(Friday evening). We had a very limited amount of time to stay in Virginia Beach before we had to head back home. The director, Mr. Fanshaw, and his staff rushed to get my aunt prepared for us. They called on Sunday around noon, letting us know that she was ready for viewing. We came around 4, and we stayed until about 5:30. They set out water with cups and after the initial hello from the staff, we were left alone. My dad and I really appreciated that they made our family a priority due to our circumstances. It meant a lot to us to be able to see our loved one and get closure since we didn’t get to see her that one last time before she passed.
