Hair It Is

I recently relocated to VA from CA and I was skeptical about finding a new hair stylist. I looked online and found Hair It Is with a perfect 5 star review. I scheduled my appointment and was placed with Sharon. Let me say I am more than impressed. She worked wonders on my hair (last time I had it done was Nov, before we packed up and moved). The other stylists were so friendly, and I loved their comments about my hair when Sharon was done.
The coffee, water and coat closet that is offered when you first walk in is a pleasant surprise. Nothing but an absolutely relaxing time in this salon. I highly recommend to any and everyone.

After suffering with a few terrible hair cuts I decided to try Hair It Is. Sharon took her time carefully listening to me and didn’t blindly chop away like so many do. I love my hair again! Thanks Sharon! I’ll ve coming back!

Good, clean salon, everyone was friendly which was nice and they were so accommodating. A stylist called in sick so I had to get my appointment hanged and the receptionist Connie I believe her name was, gave me 20% off which was very nice. Even without the discount, the haircut was very affordable and well done. However this is more of a mature women’s salon so if you are looking for a younger hip vibe, this might not be the place for you. Jean-​Marie gave me a wonderful experience and offered beverages too, they even had a shepherd dog there, he was so cute but shy lol

I actually made this appointment at the end of my last appointment. I was iffy on whether this was a good idea, never been any place where the hair stylist actually recommend a time frame for proper care of your hair.
Once again I had Jean Marie. I can not sing this woman’s praises enough. Her face lit up when I walked in, greeted me with a huge smile and even offered to add me into the food run they were getting ready to make! She settled me into my chair, offered me coffee or water, and just chatted with me for a couple minutes.
Vice immediately assuming that I wanted the same thing Jean Marie asked if I was happy. Did I actually like the color from last time? Did the cut with the layers work? She discussed my continuing concerns with frizz and how I normally styled my hair.
What really made this visit stand out is that she talked about a new treatment for frizzy hair. It is expensive and Jean Marie told me that she is going to do it herself in a couple weeks and would let me know what she thought.
What more can you ask for? Stop in and meet the great stylists here!

I just had my hair cut, colored, and blown-​dry at Hair It Is and it was a great experience. I usually color my hair myself but decided that I needed to have professional coloring done as an important date is coming up. Jean Marie did my service and was a real pro. I had just had my hair cut but wasn’t totally thrilled with the job so first Jean Marie colored my hair. After a thoughtful consultation with me we picked a color and off she went. While it was setting I was offered magazines to read, and they have a «pick your flavor» coffee maker and cookies there as well. It’s so nice to be pampered, and frankly, don’t we all deserve that once in a while!!! After the color was washed off Jean Marie gave me a great shampoo with a little head massage and a hot towel on my face. Heaven! Afterwards a little trim to fix my previous cut and a blow out that literally changed my perception of my curly hair. I felt beautiful! It was well worth the reasonable price they charge and I will be back again!

I had such a great experience here! I went last Friday for my birthday/​valentines day to get my hair done. I was a little nervous since I am so picky when it comes to my hair. I walked in and was pleasantly greeted. I was then asked if I wanted any water or coffee. I had two cups of coffee while I was there! For free! Sharon (the owner) then sat me down and asked what I wanted done. I explained I’ve been growing my hair out and wanted just a layered cut and the ombré effect on my ends. I showed her pictures and she nailed it! I gave her a hug before I left because I was so pleased. All the girls seemed very nice and I could socialize comfortably with them even though they weren’t the ones doing my hair. They really care about giving you a great result! I was handed a goodie bag on my way out with shampoo, conditioner, serum, and a conditioning treatment. I also got 10% off for my bday! I paid 115 for my hair to get wash cut and blow dried and the ombré dye job. Sharon said she charges 46 $ for a trim since it’s a wash cut and blow dry and the other girls typically charge cheaper. Overall good experience and I will definitely be back.

I have been going to Hair It Is for at least 25 years and have had the same stylist who is also the owner, all of those years. Its so important to women to find the a stylist that you can totally trust and depend on. The salon is known for their expertise in hair color. The owner makes sure all stylist stay current with with the newest hair cutting techniques. The salon is very attractive and also offers manicures, pedicures and waxing. This salon is also a teaching salon. Many of their stylist started out as apprendices and continued on after they graduated. I must get asked at least twice a week, every week, who does my hair. I am constantly complimented on my style and color. That in itself tells you how fabulous my stylist is. I want to thank her and Hair It Is for all that you have done for me over the years.

As a new resident of Virginia Beach, I had to go through many Google-​ings to find a salon to ‘trust’ with color. I chose Hair It Is as they seemed to have a great Internet presence without seeming like their staff wrote the props for this salon. I was placed with Ashley and I will tell you… I had fantastic service. She was thoughtful and meticulous in coloring my hair. I highly recommend the salon and the services of Ashley. It’s a warm, comfortable place with moderate pricing. Go see! You’ll go back!

I went to this place for a style and haircut today. I had read about it here on Unilocal.A gal named Tiffany cut my hair. I showed her a few pictures to base my cut off of. She did a fabulous job. My hair is 100 times healthier. She blow dryed it and gave me tips to care for it better. Not only that but she massaged my head. Great environment, kind people work there. Im deffinately going back soon! The price was $ 35 and it was totally worth it! Thank you Unilocal
