WAYOVERPRICED! Yes, they have state-of-the-art tanning beds but, let’s be honest… I’m tanning I’m not getting a massage. Not only are they extremely over priced but they LITERALLY pressure you into upgrading your bed, or buying more lotions every time you walk in. I’m not in a department store I am in a tanning salon and if I bring my own lotion I absolutely do not want to be questioned about where I bought it(which yes, did happen). On the positive side, they are very clean and I did enjoy the blueberry tanning bed but I will never be go back, unless I have money(and time) to blow.

Sunday’s is great for tanning. They have a wide selection of beds that get the job done. With that being said, I’ve almost been brought to the point where I don’t want to go there anymore because of how pushy the front desk workers are. It’s like being bombarded by a kiosk worker at the mall. No, I don’t want to buy your $ 70 lotion EVENIF it is on sale for the 32nd time this month. To try to sell the lotions, they’ll also state random facts that are obviously not scientifically supported(«you loose 7 minutes of tanning time if you don’t use lotion.») Which is completely impossible to prove, given the variations of people’s skin tones and even the variations in tanning lotions. And of course, even going to the lengths of talking about all the wrinkles you’re going to get(along with a disgusted looking smirk) if you don’t THEIR lotion. It’s to the point where I have to rudely cut off the employees, which I hate doing.

So, Sunday’s and I have this«issue». This weird, little«issue». I struggle with patronizing Sunday’s for a few reasons: they’re the conglomerate of tanning in Hampton Roads, their lotions are dramatically overpriced, and their employees are annoyingly pushy. I get it. These are the reasons why they are so successful. And, sadly, the reasons why I continue to angrily patronize them. My daily attendance makes me feel hypocritical and I’ve never been a fan of their employees; young, judgmental, etc. So, why do I patronize Sunday’s? Easy, they’re good, clean, and everywhere. The 7 – 11 of tanning. I’ll put aside my feelings toward the company for the sake of this review. I have been to this location two times now. Typically, I go to the one on Great Neck. Which is, in my opinion, the best one. The employees are knowledgable, friendly, and are not pushy. Especially Brittany, she’s my favorite. Today, at this Sunday’s location, I had a good experience with Emmy. She gave me a packet of Trinity XS tingle lotion and told me exactly how to apply and offered good bed suggestions. I’d rate her five stars. However, my first experience here was bothersome –worthy of one star. For the life of me, I cannot remember the girl’s name. She was cleaning beds and working the front at the same time. She was short and not helpful to me. I had my lotions and wash stolen from my car and needed help replenishing. The girls at Great Neck said that I could replace at the same price anytime, but sadly this location did not offer that to me and said that it was against company policy. Thus, I bought two lotions without getting the included moisturizer, wash, or goggles. Then, the bed I was there to use was not cleaned properly and I had to wait for it to be cleaned again. The second round didn’t even get it all the way either. It was disappointing. Just all around disappointing. The manager, Jordan, offered to give me the set at the accurate price once I spoke of the issue to the Great Neck store. This was sweet of her, but it can be out of my way to head there sometimes. We’ll see. I’ll update this review as their service is redeemed in my eyes.
