Well, it is hard to write a full review for this place. We only use the pool during swim team season. But, the pool is nice and the facilities we use with swim team are nice. I do like the coaches and the swim team a lot. My daughter really loves swimming for the Tarpons.

VBTCC as it is most commonly referred to is a tennis mecca for Virginia. For that matter the East Coast. Major events are held in their multi million dollar newer indoor courts. There is no golf. My review will focus solely on their outdoor pool. The club can easily be accessed off of Great Neck Road and a turn on Bishop beside John B. Dey Elementary. The pool sets behind the school. This is the second year that I have assisted specifically at the club pool in the Summer. There is nothing overly glamorous here, but they do have a larger well maintained pool even though it’s a small complex. The larger pool and fact it’s in yards has pumped my review up one star. Parking is beside the pool, but not a lot of it on event and swim meets days. Street parking is present in the very nice residential area surrounding the club. There are two buildings at the pool, one for restrooms and storage and the other larger structure is for kitchen and concessions. Both building are well maintained and freshly painted for the season The pool is rectangular with no bump outs. There is no diving boards, or slide which is disappointing for children I’m sure. The deck is tiny and I mean tiny. This is not an issue to members on a non event day., It does become a problem with events and swim meets. Water depth to the shallow end is approximately 3.75 and deep side 8 ft. Virginia Beach Tennis & Country Club swim in the Virginia Beach Swim League in the Summer. They are in the Dolphin Division and go by the name«Tarpons» This is a 25 yard six lane pool and is one of the few in the area that utilizes yard not meter. This a good thing as USA Swimmers are use to their times in yards for Short Course. Another reason I elevated my review are the great team reps and volunteer officials staff, The Meet Referee Dan Demers is top notch and has headed the officials crew for years. The entire staff are friendly and great to work with at hosted meets. I have heard rumor in the past that they would like to build a new pool complex, but I do not know a time table. With the millions spent on the new tennis center this could be delayed. A new pool and larger deck with nicer amenities would be a HUGE improvement and would boost club membership. They have the room to do a somewhat larger expansion without compromising the integrity of the present day club. For those that love tennis this is your place. For those that also want a pool they offer a well maintained clean facility that the whole family can enjoy in the Summer months.
