I don’t know what’s going on lately, but the past couple of times I’ve been to this location they’ve given me hard corn tortillas with my pollo bowl. I find out a little too late when I’m already back at work.

Super great experience at drive thru. Nice guy at window. Handed my kids stickers — just because. With people like that, I’ll be back again and again. Thank you!

Being a fast food place i’m actually really impressed. I ordered the Crunchy chicken taco (new item), and chicken avocado burrito and let me just say wow! The toppings added to the taco, and burrito are fresh. Avocados are nice and green, not brown like some restaurants. Prices are pretty expensive for what you order.

Even though you order your food correctly, they never make it correctly. The chicken was hard and rubbery. I would not recommend this location.

Almost $ 16 for 8 pieces of chicken, when I get home and check the order, not the mixed chicken I paid for, just legs and thighs!!! No tortillas, and leaking salsa all over the bag. The wait was ridiculous also, and not a busy time of the day. Never again, I’ll drive to the San Marcos location from now on, totally disappointed.

I wish I could give this place ZERO stars. Spent about $ 40 on food and was told to park upfront so they could give me my order. Not only did they forget my salad, they gave me a whole bunch of chicken in my burrito when I had specifically told them NO MEAT. Had to drive back again and this time around there was NO dressing on my salad or on the side. HORRIBLE!!!

Fast drive thru service since it was dinner time. The only reason it is not 5 stars is because we had such a hard time understanding everyone over the drive thru speaker. I commend the fast service but it would be great if they could refrain from overfilling containers so the chicken won’t end up in the bag by the time you get back home.

Siempre barato y fresco! Buena opción, no muy limpio como otros puntos de pollo loco, pero la comida es siempre buena, por el precio que pagas!

If you want a place that will get your order wrong every time this is the place this was my last time giving them a chance and they still managed to mess up my order and this was the last straw I have never had a good experience at this location so I will now drive out of my way to another location even though this one is down the street at least I know they will get it right

One of THE cleanest el pollo loco’s I’ve ever been to! They have two nice round patio tables with umbrellas outside, the service is nice, fast, and friendly, and they’ve helped and given me anything I’ve asked for. Thanks! I’ve ordered to go, and eaten here with some family regularly and it’s great everytime!

It must be an acquired taste!
Had the 10.00 special (whole chick w/​tortillas and salsa). Just can’t get used to the taste of the chicken. Second try, that’s enough.

The chicken here is usually dry. On our last visit we ordered dark meat hoping for something not as dry as the chicken breast. The pieces were more like jerky.
They are very stingy with the condiments.

Good food. Great prices. The tables need to be cleaned more often, and the salsa bar needs to be bigger to allow more space for customers. The staff are always very friendly. If there is ever a problem with an order they fix it with a smile. This is one of my favorite fast food places.

Greedy location!
Compared to other El Pollo Locos, the prices of every item on the menu here is about 15−25% more! Kids meals are 4.99 instead of 3.99, chicken tortilla rolls are 2.99 instead of 1.99, $ 8+ burritos!
On top of this location CHOOSING to be more expensive, they also cheaped out on the little things like not providing jalapeños at the condiment bar or napkin dispensers on each table.
Don’t support this kind of greed.
The only good thing here was the customer service.

This El Pollo Loco was very clean and had a nice setting from other locations that I’ve dined at! First things first: Favorite thing to order is #1 with the leg and thigh because I’m all about that DARK MEAT! Yumm! haha
Anyway, the place is nice, quality of food and the chicken is SO delicious! The staff were way nicer than the average fast food employee. I ordered two sides (two mashed potatoes) but changed my mind and asked if I could switch one of them with french fries, and the worker was nice enough to just give me fries without switching. Yay for free fries!

I love their 12 piece chicken for $ 12 deal. And I also love their sweet corn masa! I have never been inside, but I can say their drive-​thru is always busy. It’s a pain sometimes because it cuts into the drive area of a parking lot.
Window service is good, very friendly… although sometimes it is a slow line. I guess making fresh chicken!

I had a coupon for $ 20 for a family meal. The cashier tried to tell me that the tax was $ 7. Turns out he didn’t really ring up the coupon. Don’t know if he was trying to do it on purpose or just couldn’t realize that the tax rate is not 35%. Also I have written this review in the 30 plus minutes I have been waiting for my order.

I really love the chicken from this franchise but this location is just not cutting it. I am a regular of El Pollo Loco and they have a great recipe for their mainstay meals. The issue with this location is the management.
I have been here and have pointed out the issues with the service to the managers enough times that the ambiance when I walk in is not unlike the ambiance when your boss walks into the office and suddenly EVERYONE is buzzing around in a frenzy of busy work! I get personal attention and my order comes out incredibly fast. But that just is not right. Its appreciated… just not right.
I hit the drive thru last and you wouldn’t believe what the young lady tells me… take a moment to guess… no really. She tells me that I could not have what I asked for because they had, and I am not making this up, run out of CHICKEN!!! How on earth does a manager at a chicken place let the store run out of CHICKEN?
Saving grace is that this is a fast food place. You don’t have to go to this one. This one is poorly led, poorly managed and poorly maintained. The open kitchen concept is supposed be reassuring to customers. It should show you the procedures and cleanliness of the restaurant. This kitchen is hot mess. The lobby is a carbon copy of the kitchen and a clear indication of the bad leadership.
Save yourself the trouble and go to another location.

El Pollo Loco is a fantastic Mexican fast food chain which specializes in grilled chicken on the bone and in bowls with their blend of Mexican seasoning. One of the first things I noticed upon entering the restaurant is how wonderful the chicken on the grill smelled. I ordered the Pollo bowl which includes a drink and two corn or flour tortillas for only $ 5.41 and that includes tax. It is an excellent value considering the bowl is very substantial and includes generous chunks of their grilled and seasoned chicken with pinto beans, rice, cilantro, and diced onions. I believe there may have been cheese as well though with it all mixed I couldn’t be certain.
They also have a quality salsa bar which is regularly refreshed and includes jalapeño peppers whole and diced, diced onions, cilantro, the house salsa, the special spicy avocado salsa, and pico de gallo. I generally douse the bowl in every available salsa (I especially liked the spicy avocado salsa) and add extra diced onions, cilantro, and sliced jalapenos.
For those who like salsas everything is super fresh and the bowl alone will surely be enough for one person. I typically make a couple soft tacos using the corn tortillas with extra cilantro which I love and pico de gallo. It was a hearty lunch and the service was quick and efficient. The staff was friendly enough and the restaurant interior was clean.
I consider this a somewhat less expensive and perhaps more authentic alternative to Chipotle. Definitely worth a try if you’ve never been I can recommend the bowls for sure but the chicken wings which also include tortillas are excellent as well. Muy bueno!

The food quality is great. The chicken is as good as El Pollo Loco gets. Fresh and juicy. The sides of coleslaw, sweet potato fries, and a salad were very good and fresh.
it was 8:30 pm at night and the place was relatively empty, but the seats & tables were not very clean — which is always a turn off.
The staff was nice and friendly.
