The former owner, Michelle, still uses the Fat Quarters web site to receive emails. I contacted her to make two memory quilts out of my mother's clothes. Michelle readily agreed to use the pattern I emailed to her. She also agreed to add a photo of my mother within the quilt. The result was a pattern that was somewhat similar to what we had previously agreed to and a photo pic that was not sewn correctly - it was not tight and flat and wrinkled up when washed. Michelle became completely inflexible when I asked to have the photo quilt piece redone. Her response was that I just shouldn't wash the quilt that much. I then requested to have a small reimbursement on the price of the quilts so that I could hire another quilter to fix the issue, but Michelle refused. Most upsetting was that Michelle did not return the majority of my mother's left over fabric. There should have been quite a bit form what was actually used in the quilt. When I asked for it, she quipped that she had saved just a few pieces; what I got back was just very little. It is heart breaking because I could have made so many things with those scraps.

Did the Sock Hop and so glad I did. This shop was wonderful. For those who love primitive and Civil war fabrics this place is the bomb!!! It’s adorable cottage house you walk into antiques with splashes of complete quilts. They also have Moda fabrics in bright and happy colors. You just have to go if your a serious quilter!

I love this shop — -it is by far the best one I’ve ever been to and I’ve been quilting for 25 years. You just can’t beat their customer service! I’ve even bought things over the phone with them because I live an hour’s drive away — hard to get there when working full-time. When I do have time to go there in person, there is ALWAYS lots of new stuff to see — it’s full to the brim with fresh, new ideas and samples. My friend and I have even left work a little early on occasion to take a night class at Fat Quarters and it’s always such good fun! This is a very special place in the quilting world!

There are bunches of quilt shops in San Diego County however, none of them are quite as good as Fat Quarters for fabric selection. Of course, I’m a more traditional quilter, so what they carry is perfect for me.(if you’re looking for funky fabrics Rosy’s is the way to go). The staff here is fantastic. They are always incredibly helpful, they play with my daughter while I shop for fabric, and will guide me in the right direction when I bring a project in that I am stuck on. One day I went in with a project that someone had just happened to have made; I was so excited that I got to see it in person! I hope to own my own quilt shop one day. Fat Quarters will definitely be an inspiration in the type of shop I hope to create.

I don’t normally take the time to review things, but I got to say they are amazing! I love the selection of fabric and all the friendly staff. One day I came here confused and frustrated with a quilt I aw working on. That’s when I met Kerri! She spent about two hours helping and chatting with me. So kind and helpful. Also I left with a new sense of courage ready to take on my task. I would recommend this place to everyone. There is something for everyone!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a business given all 5 stars by it’s patrons but Fat Quarters definitely deserves them. The store is like a museum full of room after enchanting rooms full to the ceiling with charming and unusual fabrics from flannels, wool, chenille and of course adorable and elegant calico. Everything a quilter or sewer needs and things they didn’t know they needed or had to have for that matter. Since I only went in the store for the first time yesterday I don’t know the sales ladies name but she was so, so very helpful. She gathered fabric that she thought might suit my needs and even helped me figure out what to do with an old quilt top I wanted to bring to it’s finial destiny. I can’t remember in resent times being so charmed by a store, and so kindly, happily and willingly taken care of by the lovely lady that runs the store. I will tell every artist and crafter I know to go to Fat Quarters, quilter, sewer or not. You must go to this store, I promise you will love it!

I love this place! Just recently heard about it and had to go check it out on a recent fabric hunt. It’s in a cute old farmhouse(total character right off the bat!) and is filled to the brim(seriously, check out the attic) with bolts and bolts of fabric. Some really beautiful, original pieces. And be sure to check out all the amazing finished products lining the shelves and walls. The ladies who work here are so very helpful and nice, too. And knowledgeable! They had a couple classroom areas as well. I’ll definitely be checking out the class schedule.

Came here on day 2 of my Quilt Run for this years Cruisin Quilters. This shop is in an adorable 2 story cottage. Most of their fabrics are just that, cottage style. They have rooms and rooms of fabric! They had a whole little room full of wool felt for any felting project, a bookcase full of wool fabric squares, and an upstairs almost entirely 1930’s reproduction fabrics. I love the way the decorate everything with the little spools of colored threads in tiny drawers and all their notions in antique drawers. Even though I dont live close by I will sure make the effort to drive here every so often!

I took my first beginning quilting class at Fat Quarters and now I’m hooked. I love the fact that when I try to put together fabrics, Michele always finds just the right piece among all the fabrics. Great selection of patterns and samples for both small and large projects. I like being able to do a variety of quilts,(kids, traditional and holiday quilts) and runners. Always something new to look at and get excited about. …Lynn

I love Fat Quarters! It is the cutest little gray house just crammed with fabric and patterns and everything you would need for your quilting projects. I love reproductions and traditional patterns and this is the place to find what you need. They are very helpful with figuring out patterns and how to do various sewing techniques. They also have classes that are very fun.
