I’m a seasoned thrift shopper who knows the best finds are usually buried deep in the most unlikely places… I was kind of taken back when I walked into this place for the first time. There were rows of bins containing junk piled on too of more junk with people lining each side of each bin. Apparently, they had just brought out new stuff because there was a lot of pushing and shoving going on. I pulled my Michael Kors a little closer to me & found an opening at one of the bins next to an elderly gentleman who kept screaming about the government & the toaster he just found. Anyway, after catching a few elbows I made a friend who have me the run down of how everything worked. Most of the items are sold by the pound($ 1.69 per pound) linens included. Glasswares are 7/$ 1.99 …ANY7 items!!! Electronics & furniture have set prices that depend of the type of item. My first time there I purchased an oversize microfiber chair in excellent condition for only $ 4.99 and a space heater for $ 2.99. The employees there have also been helpful by helping me learn about their pricing and they are very patient with me at checkout(I like to weigh things separately to make sure I’m getting a good deal). This is now my favorite thrift store… I’ve gotten so many steals and try to go daily if at all possible. :)

This is the Waco, TX Goodwill outlet. This store is not as radtastic as the same version in Austin, but still it is always. I mean, always worth the trip into town! You’ll walk in and be a little taken aback by the appearance of it all. It is also not in the safest place in town. Just take a deep breath(preferably outside), then head in the dimly lit stuffy dust magnet & start digging. If you get there early you’ll have an amazing shoe selection! I found 5 different pairs of Dillards boots here about 2 months ago. 4 in VERY good condition, one in desperate need of re-soling(SP?). They don’t offer the obligatory champagne here when you hit the mother load of kick @ss items, but they do offer a smile and will not judge you if you get so giddy at check out that you appear to have taken massive amounts of uppers before entering… You get so much good stuff, you end up looking around and hunching your shoulders sneaking peeks at the workers in your peripheral vision because you feel like you could possibly be stealing… Nike, Steve Madden, B. Mackowski, Toms, Gap, Abercrombie … You name it, its here, They generally don’t have very good purses, same goes for shoes in the later parts of the day. They have quite a few bedding items, and they have a pretty good vintage selection… Although it smells about as old as you can assume it is, its still pretty rad! Definitely worth a check out!
