Not too many options, I feel that it is overpriced unless you specifically are going to eat at the«grill» they have. I go occasionally, but it’s an average Chinese buffet.

Better than any of the other buffets in town by far. Both for price and quality. We will go back.

I keep coming here because I have a lot of guy friends who love unlimited food. The price is right at about $ 11/person. However, the food just isn’t satisfying and quite possibly could make you sick if you pick the wrong thing. I tend to stick with the buffet staples like the meat on a stick and spring rolls. They have sushi here, but the presentation and taste is definitely disappointing. Their Mongolian grill has no structure to it. After walking down the line and picking out what you want in your noodles, you just place an arbitrary number next to your platter and place it on the counter amongst the other platters. There’s really not any order to this and don’t call your number either, so you just have to keep checking back at the station to see if your order has been completed or not.

Today I ate a late lunch with a friend and It was our first time to dine here. I din’t know what to expect after reading the mixed reviews, but we were not disappointed, it was great. The place is spacious, well appointed, friendly and clean. The service could not have been better and the food was very good. We started with a trip to the Mongolian grill. The grill selections were fresh and plentiful. We both really enjoyed our well prepared selection from the grill. We also tried several other varied selections including soup, appetizers, various«hot» dishes and a small amount of desert. It was all very good and I am looking forward to going back and will spread the word that this is a great place to do business with.

I’ve been very pleasantly surprised every time I have gone. For the price you pay, you have tremendous choices, and the Mongolian grill is well-stocked with plenty of fresh items from which to choose. I’m not sure what the people who gave the low ratings were expecting out of a buffet, but I’ve never had a hot dish that wasn’t not, nor a cold dish that wasn’t cold. It is by far the best of all the buffets in my area, and the waitstaff is always friendly and on the ball. In fact, we’re going again tonight. :)

Ok after driving in a torrential rainstorm to Waco, Texas for Baylor’s Homecoming events Friday afternoon, after settling in our hotel in Hillsboro, Texas… a small town about 30 minutes north of Waco we were all famished after not getting a chance to stop for lunch… Having eaten at this place before after being introduced to it by friends in previous visits, after picking up my daughter and her roommate, we made a beeline for this well stocked buffet in Waco! I’m typically not a buffet kind of guy but for what you get here this place is not bad. Come with an appetite! As mentioned in previous reviews, they do have a Hibachi grill which I didn’t try but generally the food looked fresh! Since we hit the place early, most of what was in the serving stations looked pretty fresh! With everything from salads to fried foods to your standard buffet soups etc., you can literally gorge yourself which I unfortunately did! Henceforth why I typically don’t hit buffets! Most of my fellow diners(family and friends) exercised a great deal of restraint though which was good! Lol! Nothing special to report here as the buffet was decent. The staff was friendly and attentive and the location good. They have a big parking lot! And a wide open dining area! But my only beef would be the typical sticky floors which seem to be the norm in most Chinese buffets… yuck! But overall, this place is generally clean and good! If you’re in the mood for a wide variety of general buffet fair, this place does fit the bill! I walked out of there stuffed but definitely satisfied!

Vegas Buffet is one of the cheapest, all you can eat dining options in Waco. It’s a buffet with a «mini» sushi bar, hibachi station, and then your standard chinese fare. People come into this buffet expecting way too much, which is probably why they give such low reviews. Suprisingly, Vegas buffet even somewhat exceeded my expectations a little as the hibachi station’s choices were better than what I was used to. Besides chicken, beef, and pork for your meats, you also had squid and shrimp. Normally at other hibachi buffets, it’s unheard of because seafood usually does cost more. The hibachi station is divided in half so most of the protein is on one side while the carb sources are on the other side. They even have fresh eggs out as one of your grilling choices. You chose your own amount of sauce which you will put in a sauce cup. Which I think is extremely helpful because if your food does end up being too salty or too bland, it’ll be your own fault. I chose not to touch the sushi bar because the fish did not look fresh. But it’s a chinese buffet, you can’t expect high quality, fresh out of the ocean fish. The rest of the buffet is pretty standard. You see your egg drop soup, General Tso Chicken, Sesame Chicken(except with no sesame seen on top), fried chicken wings, etc etc. The food all tasted pretty good for you get. I stuck more to the hibachi because why not?! The only thing I’m docking a star down for is the fact that I saw a fly buzzing around the swiss roll cakes, which is EXTREMELYDISGUSTING. I ended up just staying away from that whole area. And our waitress was a little slow with cleaning up our plates, but we had a huge table to cover our plates with so we weren’t as affected. The bill came out to be around $ 11 per person, which is quite a steal. For one plate that I made on the hibachi any other restaurant in Waco(*cough fuji*), it would probably have cost way more than that and have less amount of food. I even made two plates on the hibachi grill, so i definitely had my money’s worth. I definitely would not mind coming back next time. Lunch prices are roughly $ 9(tax included), so I would not mind coming back.

There literally wasn’t a single dish I would recommend to anybody the only reason I give two stars is because what can you expect from a buffet but this place really is terrible.

This place was great. It really deserves more stars on Unilocal! We almost didn’t go because of some negative reviews on here. not sure what those are all about. I’ve been to a lot of Chinese buffets and this one was one of the better ones. It had sushi that was actually really fresh and delicious. The grill had a lot of items that you can choose from and there were so many dishes to choose from also that were pre-cooked. It all tasted delicious to me. I would definitely come back again if I’m ever in town.

Pretty good, I have to say. It’s a Chinese, Mongolian, seafood, sushi buffet. They have mashed potatoes, pizza, rolls, fruit, chicken fingers, desserts for picky kiddos in tow. I liked the skewered chicken things. We wished the Mongolian bowls had more options: spices, sauce, ham, pepperoni. A sugar free dessert option would be nice. The service was wonderful. Overall the whole place was very clean and nice(except the carpets need to be replaced-stains). All of the food was hot and fresh. Lots of parking. I don’t understand the Vegas name and signs because it’s all oriental inside. Overall Satisfied. Priced well — under $ 40 for 2 adults and 2 children at dinner.

Poor customer service, rarely ever a wait but staff cannot seem to keep drinks filled or plates cleared. Food is hot, flavorful and FULL of MSG. My group of 7 complained about stomach pains and hunger within a few hours of eating it. The owners put a lot of money into the building, it looks beautiful buuut it’s just another Chinese buffet. Nothing about this is Las Vegas quality, quantity or service oriented(as someone who once called Las Vegas home)

15.13 with drink a bit high but since Chinese buffets have been putting hibachi in they tack on a few Xtra bux. Anyways, the hibachi was good they even have a what to do sign for those not used to it. The selections was good including the meat veggies and sauces. The buffet was a bit more American than I’d like but whatever the food was typical Chinese buffet food not even a «hero»(a dish I get multiple times). They have a bunch of sushi even a deep fried one :/ Bunch of deserts and an ice cream machine. The wait staff was friendly and prompt to my needs(I don’t like sitting with an empty drink :)). The restaurant was clean and the bathrooms were very nice which is sometimes away to tell if the place is any good lol. Hope this helps.

I read all the negative reviews and made a point of waiting until they had a chance go work out the wrinkles. Like every new restaurant I’ve ever visited, they had to try and fire cooks, servers, bus staff. Dishes had to be tried, improved or dropped, and the time needed to be worked out. I’m glad I waited. I am very picky and have eaten at $ 1,800 for two in Las Vegas and New York and at 2 for a dollar tacos drive through. I evaluate a restaurant based on what category they are in. Vegas Buffet certainly fixed their opening hiccups. I tried a bite of just about everything, including their signature desserts. Didn’t try the children’s stuff. Even tried the Mongolian BBQ section. I found their quality to be very good for the price and placing. No, I would not pay $ 80 a plate, but I found that I definately enjoyed it more than the competiting bufett across the street. For the price, they beat out even the local Chinese restaurant for both quality and service. Were there things I wasn’t impressed with? Of course. Then I won’t put beets on my salad or have the liver and onions at even the best restaurant. But there is plenty to keep me happy and never bored. If you haven’t tried it lately, you haven’t tried it.

Don’t understand all the bad reviews! Is a buffet! So you have to lower your expectations… sushi is good, not excellent but is good, fresh and unlimited. And for the really limited sushi options here in Waco is a good choice. You can select your protein and vegies and the cook will have it ready for you in 5 – 10 mins. The buffet food is good too, fresh and looked good. I obviously didn’t try everything but I think you won’t be disappointed for 10 $(lunch).

They had no seafood four times out of five times of my visit. A lot of times they won’t make more food even when they run out. One times the dinner rolls were all hard, there was no seafood, no habachi, no sesame chicken, no lo mein, no crab legs, etc. I requested them for dinner rolls and lo mein. I had to ask for them twice for the lo mein dish and it came out when we were about to leave finally. I wonder how much money they save by not serving seafoods but still charge everyone for the foods not even available. Is this even legal? Wouldn’t this be false advertising? I wonder if they really don’t use MSG now. I’m totally questioning their integrity.

Vegas Buffet has only been open for a few months, and after only two visits, I’m done. It has everything I’m looking for in a Chinese Buffet(almost). When you walk in the door you’re greeted by a hostess that takes you to your table. You’re immediately impressed with the size of the space and beautiful décor. They have a Mongolian grill, Sushi, and a lot to choose from at the buffet. But that’s not enough. The food has got to be good too, and that’s the deal breaker for me(us). While getting a bowl of Egg Drop soup, they replenished the fried Calamari. Yum-O I thought… So I took some back to the table to share with my wife. Have you ever eaten chicken gizzards? Pretty chewy eh? Gizzards got nuttin’ on this Calamari. And coming fresh out of the kitchen, I expected some fresh fried crunchiness. No, no crunch either. My guess is this was prepared at lunch, then reheated in the microwave for dinner. Soggy, chewy and disgusting. The Ceviche looked fabulous, but smelled and tasted spoiled(rancid). Even the Egg Rolls tasted funky. C’mon…Egg Rolls are easy. There were some tasty bits on the buffet(fried shrimp, sesame chicken, General Tso’s chicken, fried zucchini, beef & broccoli, the Korean pork was good too) And some of the Sushi was really good, but there was some that didn’t qualify as Sushi, just stuff posing a Sushi. I’d be ok with Vegas Buffet if the Calamari, Egg Rolls, Ceviche(and others) were just lackluster, but they were more than that, they were bad. Never again.
