Nice atmosphere — over priced
I received a warm welcome upon arrival. I had made an appt for a manicure. The signature manicure was $ 15 more than the standard. The price list identified the difference between standard and signature was the addition of a foots oak and relaxing massage. There was no additional foot soak. (Perhaps that was only for the signature pedicure?) the massage was less than 5 minutes and no more than I have had at nail places all over the country. I did. It distinguish anything in the manicure that made the service «signature».

Twice this week I was here. Monday to get my nails done and brows waxed, and today for massage and facial. Both times I couldn’t be happier with my device. Everyone was very personable and helpful. The quality of the work and time they took to explain everything are top notch. Karina did my nails. She looked back several times to make sure my cuticles looked perfect and the polish was clean. Desiree did my massage and facial. She made sure I was very comfortable and discussed what products she was going to use and what their purpose is. They use Eminence, an organic line from Hungary. My face felt smooth and refreshed. Best facial I’ve had in a while. And what a relaxing massage. I loved that I didn’t have to switch my therapist and esthetician. Even better that I didn’t have to switch rooms, so there was no interruption in my 2 hours of relaxation.

My visit to Hearts and Stars on my wedding day started with a lilikoi Mimosa, which was fantastic. Mary gave me a beautiful mani/​pedi. Bobbie came in on her day off to do my hair and makeup. If you need a fantastic up do, don’t hesitate to ask for Bobbie since those are her specialty! Everything turned out super awesome.

Mimosas with your Peddie? Yes please! Didn’t have time for a pedi before my vacation to the big island. Hearts & Stars was recommended to me by the concierge and close to my condo. Service was excellent — by Bobbie and the owner Jason was friendly enough to come around to chat. A great find in an unexpected little strip mall in Waikaloa. keep up the good work there hearts and stars.

I got my haircut on my birthday and Faith was awesome. I was so happy that I didn’t have to wait. Best haircut in a really long time. I highly recommend her. She is a good listener too. I love my haircut.

Super cute little day spa. I loved the cleanliness and décor. I walked in and was able to get an appointment for a pedicure same day. The technician did a thorough and professional job. The massage with the deluxe pedicure was phenomenal. Only suggestion is that she did not introduce herself so I don’t know her name.
The front desk gal offered me a mimosa which was nice but I declined as I needed to work on getting hydrated so she gave me water. When she saw my cup was empty she even refilled it.
I’ve had services at the Kohala Spa and although that spa has more amenities, this place is a much better value!

On vacation from California, and wanted to refresh my gel manicure and get a regular pedicure. I was surprised by the charge to remove gel which at my home salon is included in a $ 48 gel manicure that lasts minimum 2 full wks or longer. My total cost here was $ 135.42. Super nice manicurist and nice gel color… even tho though a little pricy, thought I’d return in 2 wks
Yesterday, 8 days later, my gel nails are lifting and 3 have chipped so I’m filing to keep from snagging and I haven’t done any activity other than site seeing in a car and plane. Not so happy.
Update: great customer service, they refunded my money within 24 hours. Thank you !

Elle mag made no mistake in naming Hearts & Stars the best salon in Hawai’i. From the service to the ambiance, the whole experience was enjoyable. I had been putting off getting my hair done somewhere closer to where I live (about 8 months, yikes!) so that I could find the time to make an appointment here. I finally had the pleasure of visiting today! Upon meeting my stylist Faith, I knew immediately I’d be in good hands. She was super sweet & personable, & knew exactly what I wanted — long layers, dead ends trimmed, while keeping the length. Kind of a tall order considering my neglected strands were in dire need of some TLC. But she worked her magic & turned my locks into long, flowing soft waves of silkiness. Take that, VS Angels. Hehe.
This beautiful salon is bright, super clean & modern. Such great energy. I appreciated the kama’aina discount as well. I’ll definitely make the effort to return as soon as I can!

Warm and welcoming place and people. When you arrive you are greeted with a friendly smile. Comp mimosa??? Yes of course! So far I got hair cut/​style (Dawn) and pedicure (Bobbi). Great experience.
The owner is always there and has developed a line of great products too. I highly recommend when you are on the big island of Hawai’i.

World class bridal service and excellent everything! I wish I could give them 6 stars. My wedding party and I spent the day of my wedding here and I could not be more pleased. From my adorable flower girls’ hair to my maid of honor’s stunning beachy boho waves, everything was absolutely perfect!
Jason and his staff are talented, kind and really know how to put a bride at ease. They even fit my sister in for hair and nails at the last minute. They definitely go the extra mile. Jason even went to the store to get lemons for my water! I felt so relaxed and my hair, nails and makeup were gorgeous beyond what I had imagined.
Thank you so much hearts and stars salon, my wedding day was so much more beautiful because of you all

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Hearts and Stars Salon & Day Spa!
They take the time to make sure you are happy and comfortable! My stylist Bobbie did an amazing job with my long, thick hair. I also love that they have their own line of beauty products. The Lilikoi set smells absolutely divine!
This is a great place for locals and tourists alike. You get high-​end service at reasonable prices — definitely worth a trip to Waikoloa!

I know, I know, I shouldn’t complain about the prices… this place is in a shopping center that is right near expensive resorts and hotels, so of course all of the surrounding shops/​restaurants/​etc are going to be ridiculously expensive and over-​priced. But I am, a little bit, going to complain about the price. I came in for a haircut and to get my hair flat-​ironed so it would look nice during the end of my week vacation. I had Dawn as my stylist. She was really nice and listened to what I wanted. My hair turned out great. I’m just annoyed that it cost so much haha. She did also give me a good recommendation for where to eat for dinner when I told her I was going out with my fiancé, his brother, and his brother’s wife. Her recommendation turned out to be solid, we ended up loving our food and having a great time thanks to her advice (thank you Dawn).

Ummm… what can I say? After reading the other reviews and some personal referrals I expected a fantastic experience. What I got was so much better! Owner, Jason (The Mane Man) was a joy to chit chat with and Karina hooked my nails and toesies up! Totally executed a cute design I brought a pic of in for my mani, and wasn’t bothered at all when I zoned out on my iPhone for a while (we mommies have to cherish our alone time, right?!). I love supporting local businesses, and it’s an added bonus when it’s the place I would give my business to anyway! I’m a lifer for sure xoxo

My wife and I were referred here by a dear friend and we are glad we came. Mani and pedis were very good with my wife’s french gel mani (by Corina) being one of the best she has ever had. Later my haircut was good but not great (little lacking in detail which is surprising for a short haircut). My wife however had Faith as her hairstylist and she did a fabulous job. Conveniently located and great service!

The old salon in this location was off the charts, price-​wise. This sweet new salon is up and coming, and the staff seem ready to handle most anything. The place was packed when I had my first haircut there a couple of weeks ago.
I had a fabulous cut by Dawn that gave me a nice new look I’ve not had before, which I love. I spoke a bit with Jason as well, and they are earnest and should do well in this location. Give them a try!

My husband surprised me with a massage for Valentine’s Day at Hearts & Stars Salon. I had an hour long massage with Elena and it was absolutely amazing. The attention to detail and service was top notch. We were welcomed with mimosas, they provided comfy headphones with relaxing music, the room temperature was set to my exact request, and the massage was fabulous. I will definitely be back!

A cute, clean, modern salon the service was great, people were welcoming and warm. I received an overall color which was perfectly done. Hope took great care to make sure the color matched and the grey was covered. The blow out was fantastic!
I highly recommend this salon and am so glad to have found them. I will be back!

I guess Elle Magazine makes no mistakes. When they say this is one of the Top 100 Salons in the country, it’s true– and you must look no further.
Since the first time I picked up the phone inquiring about their services, I knew this would be a place where I’d receive great service. From their waxing to their nail services, everything is relaxing and beyond professional.
Complimentary mimosa– you got it! Top-​notch service from the owner himself– you got it! The décor and ambience– flawless!
Wanting to get haircut soon, and I wouldn’t go anywhere else in the island. Hearts & Stars is as good as it gets!
