Defensive Edge Martial Arts Academy

I started attending the Fight Fit classes about a month ago… I already have new muscles showing and I’ve lost 4 lbs! Their programs are tough (in an awesome way) and Rick the owner and sensei is super nice and extremely knowledgeable. If you are looking for an amazing personal challenge, I highly recommend coming here. I am absolutely canceling my membership to the other gym I go to!

Rick has put together a great training facility with some of the best instructors in the martial arts community.

I’ve practiced martial arts for years — I’ve done it all — but to find somewhere where not only are the instructors knowledgeable and beyond helpful — it feels like family here. The fight fit class is one of if not the hardest workout I have ever had and I love every minute of it.
Everyone here is caring and full of life and joy — you walk in and feel at home. I can’t recommend this place enough for whether you want to get in shape or you want to learn some serous take down moves — this place will change your body and your life.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Sensei Rick and all of the instructors. They all are extremely dedicated to their students and truly care about their well being and learning. My son started when he was 6 years old and in a short amount of time I have seen his confidence grow by leaps and bounds. He was even able advocate for himself at 8 years old when he felt he needed to be challenged more! He is genuinely excited when he gets promoted and looks forward to the belt ceremonies. Rick and his team go above and beyond to make the kids feel special and to help them take pride in their accomplishments. If you are looking for a place to help your son or daughter gain confidence or just to get healthy, Defensive Edge is the place to go.

Defensive Edge is more than just a self– defense school. It’s a family. And that is how the students are treated by every instructor and every student. You can tell just how much Sensei Rick cares about his students, and how much he cares about his studies in a single conversation with him. You cannot go wrong with choosing to train there. You will push yourself harder than you ever thought you could, and come back wanting more.

My son has been attending classes at this school for 5 years, and just earned his jr. black belt at the age of 10. Sensei Rick is wonderful with children, his easygoing personality helps the more shy & reserved kids get comfortable in class, and his authoritive manner helps in keeping the more «energetic» kids in line. All of the Sensei’s are knowledgeable and friendly. This school has the close-​knit feel of family, we are very happy here and hope to continue here for years to come.

I started with the Muay Thai boxing class that is taught by Ciano DeLucia on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 — 9:30 in the evening and also on Saturdays from 11:30am — 1:00pm which for me is very convenient due to my schedule. First let me say the instructor is awsome i mean he gets you in shape and is very much in detail on the art of Muay Thai… you actually learn the art. The classmates are awsome i feel like im at home when i go and cant even wait for my classes every week. I have been to other schools were i felt like i was throwing my money away. The whole school is awsome! they have other arts that i want to try as well… The owner Rick is the nicest guy, when i told him what i wanted to do he directed me to the Thai instructor Ciano and i am glad he did… The classes are cheap and you get way more than you pay for. Im so excited about this school that i wanted to tell everyone at Unilocal.Go check them out you will be glad you did. For you ufc fans out there they have fighters they train, and teach mma its awsome… go see for yourself
