Took a few trips up the Oregon Coast. This has the best fish and chips I’ve found. Price is reasonable and big portions. Super nice guy working, sat and talked story with him for a while, he’s a former military man. Shocked to see reviews saying he’s discriminant against minorities. That didn’t happen while I was there, with 4 friends of mine that were minorities. In fact the owner actually gave them extra food for free.

Took my family crabbing and made the mistake of going to Lazy Dayz Café for lunch. To make things short, the owner told us we cannot sit inside and eat. There was another family and two guys sitting in the diner. There was plenty of room for us. I asked him why, his response was that we are irritating him. I asked why, and he said we all should have come together and order at the same time. Along with my wife and my two twin girls, there was a total of 15 people at his diner giving him business. Each of us ate at a different time, nevertheless giving him business. I had my twins(15 month old) with me and he would not let us inside to eat, even though it was windy and cold outside. I asked him why we can’t eat in like the other customers. He just said we irritated him coming in and out. I told him I felt discriminated because we were the only Asians there and were not allowed to stay inside. Racial discrimination is a crime, and serves no good purpose other than to breed hatred. A person who discriminate often times may not have the intent or knowledge that they are doing so, and lack the cognition to be aware of diversity and human dignity. A person running a business serving the public and representing the community in which they are located needs to be aware of such things as discrimination and racial prejudice. This experience left me with a bitter taste of Waldport OR. And also left me with the thought of why this café still in business? I left without ordering. There are good reviews on the food, however good food does not justify discrimination.

Rudest guy ever. Brought my family here on vacation from California and we decided to stop by to get some fries and clam chowder. The owner told us we weren’t welcome and told us if we are ordering then we must order fast and get it to go and leave immediately(and the place was empty). I have never pulled the race cards before and don’t ever wish to because we live in the USA. However since I am Asian I felt I was being discriminated against. I considered myself an American and never expected to be treated this way in America.

Solid little place… Found off Unilocal!Very small plave like eating at home. Brad the owner is clearly passionate about his little place. He is the only employee. My kids loved the fish and chips. Chowder was great too… If you want good food, clean little place, and a unique personality you can’t go wrong :) Would clearly come back !!!

Our meal at lazy dayz was solid. Mind you, this place in nothing fancy, but it sits right on the water and serves a good pile of fish and chips. My partner had the clam chowder, which was thick and creamy style. The best part was probably the surly cook working the kitchen and ringing folks up. I would probably go back next time in Waldport.

Never been to a less welcoming place. Walked in and was rudely welcomed to not stay. The guy literally told us we weren’t welcomed to stay and drink coffee because he had to «turn the tables» quickly. The place was empty except for the 2 locals in the front window.

Absolutely delicious. I got the beer battered cod and my husband the ½ rack of ribs. Ordered our food, sat down and a few minutes later(after the order before us was filled) we both recieved plates piled high with our dinners. Hot crispy fries, fabulous fish, the ribs were great too. We both gobbled up the slaw, not too goopy or sweet. Fresh, crisp and home made. If you love mom and pop spots with diner charm and really good food this is your spot. Beautiful scenery too!

Worth the drive to find this little gem. Best fish and chips of the week… by far. Go there! Small place, locals in and out… Right by the docks, so a nice view as well.

The food was great, it pleased the entire family! We all really enjoyed our dishes, my son said his fish and chips were great and he loved the tartar sauce, said it was some of the best he’d had. I had the coconut fried shrimp and it was delicious. I really liked the slaw as well. We topped it off with insanely huge«1 scoop» ice creams! We will definitely visit again!

This is the best kept secret eating place in Waldport. On the Alsea Bay, port side. Brad has the most PHENOMENAL hot dogs. AND he toasts the bun and tops it with chili or his homemade coleslaw. The slaw is to die for! This place is open until 7pm most evenings! Other friends like the beef brisket dinners. He also bakes his own apple pies and serves Glacier ice cream, which rivals Tillamook and Umpqua. I’ve had the BEEFBRISKET dinner twice now and it is another home-cooked delight!(He BBQs in this giant BBQ grill outside.) Very filling — enough for two meals. Brad puts about 4 – 5 layers of meat on this great bun and gives you a side of cole slaw and of baked beans. You just can’t stop eating this slow-cooked food! And I am getting Cascade Glacier choc chip mint ice cream in a cup with a lid to take home because after his great food, you never have room for ice cream so best to take it home. Cascade Glacier is better than Umpqua or Tillamook(very hard to say this because I love them all). It’s a Eugene creamery, Brad told me. 4÷15÷16 — I’ve been back for beef brisket several more times and it is yummy!!! Turned on three neighbors to Lazy Dayz and they are now regulars. The brisket sandwich is enough for two meals. I still want to try the fish & chips and also the chicken fried steak with real mashed potatoes. You can get either white gravy or brown gravy, I hear. There are so few slow-cooked restaurants anymore that it is a pleasure to find this café. It’s well worth the trip. You dream of his hot dogs and brisket until the cravings make you visit :)

Excellent BBQ from a very nice gentleman. There’s not a whole lot I can say because I order the same thing always — the ribs. An the plate of ribs is always so satisfying. I even eat the beans which I generally don’t eat in other places. The meat is always a star of the show, tender and delicious. When I come with friends I see what they order and occasionally grab a bite of their meals. So that’s how I know that a BBQ sandwich looks and tastes great too and is very large and satisfying.

Oh man. We looked forward to this place every time we come here and go multiple times. It is the ice cream. It is glacier ice cream. Way better then tillamook. The portions are huge and delicious. This time we actually ordered some food too. Beef brisket. And hubby loved it. Slow and low and some of the best bbq we have had! We love the owner. Super uptight and kind of rude but full of the experience. Once you get him talking he warms right up. Part of the fun

We were having a wonderful day out crabbing until we came into this café for lunch. I have never experienced such rudeness in a restaurant. The owner is an absolute jerk and extremely rude. For that we will never be going back.

The owner/chef/food server, Brad, is part of the Lazy Dayz experience. His BBQ items are good and his fresh baked pie(a la mode, definitely) is excellent … even superb! Not to be missed. This is a tiny place near the dock in Waldport. Once we saw a bus group pull up and 20 people popped in for ice cream cones. While Brad dished up the ice cream he asked that each person just set their payment next to the cash register in the other room … it’s that kind of place. The afternoon/evening specials offer generous portions at a reasonable price. BBQ pork roll is pretty good as are the ribs. After more than a dozen visits Crispy Chicken is my favorite so far. Meatloaf, ummmm, probably would not order again. Because patronizing small, local spots is one of my passions we try to stop in once per week. If you’re looking for fine dining, go elsewhere. But if you crave a true local, home style experience, I would definitely give this place a try(and remember to get the pie)!

This little roadside. Bbq joint is so small it’s like being seved in someone’s living room with a view of the marina across the street. The bbq is really delicious if a little too saucy for our taste. The clam chowder was spot on, creamy and delicious. The owner, cook and bottle washer was friendly and quick to set us up along with the other 5 tables in the place. If you have time rent crab pots at the marina and they’ll shell and boil them for you on the spot!

Lazy Dayz is nothing short of a staple for this part of the coast. Owned and operated by one guy who bakes pies from scratch, smokes and BBQs locally procured meats and makes a mean milkshake. The ribs and brisket are juicy and tender, the fries crispy and taste like fresh potatoes and even the coleslaw is crunchy and delicious. The fish and chips are really good too with the traditional batter, like a thin pancake. If it’s busy, you have to be patient because it’s just him but it’s worth the wait. Everything is delicious and homemade. The dining room is small but clean and charming. You can watch old movies or TV shows on mute(thankfully) while waiting. The prices are incredibly reasonable, especially the giant piece of pie heaped with ice cream for like $ 5. This place has saved me many a night cooking.

This place may be small and hard to find but it truly is a treasure of a place to eat at!!! The BBQ of all things is some of the best I have ever had! The ribs pull away from the bone without any effort and this is without sauce! The brisket you cannot pick up without it almost falling apart! The owner has a great personality and definitely has a small town southern man attitude. In my opinion, he does not charge enough for the food he serves. He does his work out of love for the customer.
