This is my favorite winery for a number of reasons. The WINE: I am a very picky wine drinker, and the red wines here are the smoothest I can find. Their Cab Sauvs age beautifully. I found a 10-year-old bottle of Cab Sauv, Seven Hills Vineyard, in my «cellar» and thought, «How did I miss drinking this?» What a wonderful wine. Truly wonderful Malbec, too. As for the whites, I’m not a white wine drinker at all, but I bought a couple of their Late Harvest Riesling because I adored the bottle, but then I fell in love. If it’s a hot day, even if you’re like me and don’t favor a white, this is incredible, a very tasty wine. Someone mentioned pouring a little over vanilla ice cream for dessert when company comes over, but I haven’t tried that yet. Probably because the bottle is empty before I remember to pull out the ice cream for my guests. The WINEMAKER: Casey McClellan, the winemaker, is not a new kid on the block when it comes to wines. He was one of the original winemakers in this valley. He knows his wine, and he is also a truly nice guy. The FACILITIES: Downtown and within walking distance from the Marcus Whitman Hotel in the historic Whitehouse Crawford building, the tasting room is a large open room with a view to the barrel room. During release weekends, they hold special tastings in the barrel room, and it is totally worth it to walk into that room and be surrounded by oak barrels and the smell, OH, the smell! With so many wineries in the Walla Walla area, it is hard to make a decision who to visit, but this winery will always be on my short list and should be on yours, too.

My wife and I arrived at Seven Hills at 4:45, and were told that they normally close at that time by a rather rude blond woman. The other lady, Jackie said she would be happy to serve us, and she was just wonderful. We ended up spending $ 250!

I love everything Seven Hills. If you are lucky to get your hands on their rosé get extra! Wines are superb, people are friendly. Tasting room is simply and tastefully done. Gorgeous Malbec and Merlot. Really can’t go wrong with any wines here. Downtown facility, so within walking distance to your hotel. Classic, timeless wines.

Yes! This place was fabulous! Great Wines, Friendly Service, and lots of history/stories about this winery! Loved it! I wanted to buy one of everything here, but my budget nor my suitcase would allow that, but next year when I come back to Walla Walla I will keep this place in mind! Great Location too!

The Seven Hill Winery is conveniently located only a couple of blocks from the center of downtown and only one block from the Marcus Whitman Hotel and Conference Center. The wine tasting fee is $ 5 but this fee can be used to offset the cost of any wine that you buy. This winery has an excellent selection of whites and reds. Its Cabernet Sauvignon is always very flavorful and it produces a variety of different wines. Its whites always score well and complement many dishes. My favorites are the Carmenere and Petit Verdot at this time although the Ciel du Cheval is really smooth. I tried the Seven Hills Rosé at a local restaurant yesterday and it also tasted great with the mussels that I ordered. This winery is definitely a must visit when in downtown Walla Walla.

Large facility with visibility to many of the winery’s operations, the winery/tasting room is near downtown in a renovated old warehouse. Pleasant servers and solid wines helped make our tasting experience good. We purchased their red blend Ciel du Cheval. A good visit just not outstanding like some of the others in the area.

Seven Hills Winery was our absolute favorite of the day! Jackson was so helpful and the wines, every red we tasted was a favorite! Seven Hills deserves a 5 star rating for the wine, the knowledge and friendliness of the staff and the quaint setting! A must stop for your visit to Walla Walla!

We had a really great experience with this winery. The lady was really nice, and super helpful. She even sold us a shipping box for our other wine to check in at the airport. We were in a bit of a hurry and didn’t get to fully enjoy our tasting but it was definitely worth checking out. If you’re just passing by and want to catch a winery without having to make an appointment, this is the place for you.

Dawn was so very nice in helping to educate me on the different wines and how they are made. Riesling was great and all the reds just hit the right notes. Great space — highly recommend!

I would really love to have tastes the wines. But I went here today and was completely ignored. I’m in town for business so a single male who loves wine tasting I thought I would go for an afternoon and try a couple places. Since this one had such high reviews I was really looking forward to comparing it to my local napa wineries I spend a lot of time at. I walked in and there was one woman behind the counter, 4 women being served tastings. I stood at the counter and waited to be greeted. The person working continues to chat with and pour the women two more tastings. Not even once acknowledging I was there. I left. What rude customer service. She could have at least smiled at me and said«I’ll be right with you or something».

They had the best reds that we tasted in Walla Walla. We both loved the Ciel du Cheval, and we got a bottle even though it had a hefty $ 45 price tag. The Cab Sauv was also delicious. The staff was friendly and willing to give advice on where we should head next, which was appreciated. Like other reviewers mentioned, the building is beautiful. If you are in Walla Walla for tasting, I would highly recommend putting Seven Hills at the beginning of the day rather than the end. You do not want your palette to be tired when you head into Seven Hills.

We visited this tasting room based on very good reviews. We were a little disappointed when we arrived and the people there seemed unhappy to have tasters come in. That said the wine was good but we felt a little rushed through the tasting. He did take a few minutes to point out other areas on the map that we should visit, but seemed relieved when we left.

I’m very much a wine drinker and will seek out opportunities to try new and different wines whenever possible. I was in Walla Walla on business and received a recommendation from a friend to try Seven Hills. The winery was conveniently located in downtown Walla Walla down the block from our hotel, so we stopped for a quick tasting on our way to the airport. Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the architecture and clean design of the building, a historic site that updated yet still retained its simple charm. We were greeted by Julie who took us through five of their wines available for tasting. Most of my wine collection focuses on northern California wines, so I was interested to see how these wines would compare. I was impressed with the high quality of the wines as well as the reasonable price points. Julie was extremely pleasant and knowledgable, and was able to answer every question we threw at her. We were also lucky enough to catch Casey, the founder and winemaker, who took us on a quick tour of the facility and provided further history on the building and the winery. Definitely a standout winery with some very high quality wines which I am anxiously awaiting to add to our cellar.

Fantastic Walla Walla winery in a beautiful location. They are very strong up and down, and their prices are quite competitive for the quality. Many of their wines would go for $ 50-$ 75 if sold by a Napa producer. They were also very friendly in the tasting room. We aren’t members(yet), but they gladly let us try a number of wines not on the official tasting list.

Seven Hills is located in a gorgeous old building, just off the main drag, and has some really wonderful and affordable wines. All the wine processing occurs onsite so they really are quite connected to the wines they make. This was one of our first stops after arriving in Walla Walla for the Autumn Release Weekend. Our pourer, Todd, was friendly and, once we figured out we had similar tastes in wine, he offered some excellent suggestions for other tasting rooms we might like. As it turned out, each place he recommended was great and we ended up being able to thank him after running into him at one of the other places he suggested.

We love this winery. They consistently make wonderful wines. The tasting room is open and relaxed and very conveniently located in downtown Walla Walla. The staff are friendly and nice. Every time we are in the neighborhood we drop by and have some good wine and conversation at Seven Hills.

This is one of the loveliest tasting rooms in Walla Walla, partly because it is in the historic old mill building. The wines here are great and I am a big fan of their whites in particular. The prices are very good for the valley, and we often stop here for a couple of bottles to take back to our hotel or house rental to enjoy over the weekend w/out breaking the bank. We have tasted here a few times, and the staff has been ok, but not overly friendly either time. We usually get a cool reception, though I have noticed folks my parents age are treated much more warmly. It’s worth a stop though, just to check out the bldg(and the excellent restaurant Whitehouse Crawford right next door).

I’m not a big Merlot person, but the Merlot at Seven Hills has a place in my heart and belly. At just under thirty dollars a bottle, it stands up to any bottle twice the price. If you’re looking for a bargain, the off-dry(not too sweet) Riesling is the bomb at $ 12! Educated, friendly staff. Nice selection. Comfortable and spacious tasting room. No tacky touristy crap here. Just good wine.
