Blink Optometric

Dr. Tang is very smart, has the latest equipment and an excellent «chair side» manner. He found some issues not mentioned at a major optometry chain store exam and referred me to a retina specialist. Since age 11, I’ve had glasses, contacts and now trifocals. Dr Tang is absolutely the best with a careful, detailed approach — explaining everything as he goes.

My spouse found this based on Unilocal reviews and he had a great experience so I also brought my daughter. She received an cursory eye exam through her school. They discovered that she may have a slight astigmatism and suggested I have an official eye exam.
She saw Dr. Tang, who was absolutely delightful and educational. Since it was her first eye exam he explained all aspects of the entire process to her. Extremely friendly and unsurpassed customer experience!

Was referred by 2 co-​workers. Dr. Tang was very professional, knowledgable, with a great bed side manner. I had to bring my infant daughter with me and he she started to get fussy. He was very understanding as well as kind and patient about it. They even offered diapers and wipes when I asked to use the restroom to change my daughter’s diaper. Excellent service and I will recommend Kelvin Tang to anyone whom asks for a eye care.

Love Love Love Dr Tang! I had my first appt with him a week ago and I have to say he is one of the best eye doc’s I have been to. He has the best bedside manner and explains everything he’s doing during the exam. He is very professional, courteous and super funny. He spent at least 45 minutes with me evaluating everything. I have been to doctors who literally rush through the exam and I’m out in 15 mins. His office is very clean and tidy. His staff is also very nice! I definitely will continue to come here and already have referred my family here.

I saw Dr. Hua and she was wonderful! Very thorough and extremely knowledgeable. She seems like she genuinely enjoys her job. She was meticulous, is a good way, to make sure my RX was exactly the right fit. We checked contacts and glasses and my eyes feel and see so much better… my prescription wasn’t old, my previous doctor just wasn’t as good.
The front desk girl was very sweet and helpful!
A plus, they have your contacts delivered to your home instead of making you come back in to pick them up.
They have a great selection of frames… not Lenscrafters or anything but enough to satisfy most styles. I’m a little disappointed that I didn’t come to Blink sooner and had to spend money on frames that I don’t love as much.
Anyway, wonderful place — definitely worth the switch!

Modern, updated optometry office with attentive staff in an old skool medical complex in Walnut Creek!
Dr. Tang, as promised, was attentive, professional, friendly, and knowledgable. He spent a good amount of time examining my eyes and even asked if I wanted a photo of each eye ball on my camera phone (Now I show that eyeball pic to my family to amuse them :)
The receptionist, Katie, was welcoming, responsive, and pleasant — and even had her own business card. It really felt like she was an active part of the practice. When I needed a duplicate copy of my receipt, she immediately e-​mailed it to me directly after our phone conversation.
They have an excellent selection of eye wear and are prompt with providing eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions. The billing process was also simple and easy.
Plus, I appreciated the free samples of lens solution in the goodie bag that I received at the end of my visit, and which I put to good use afterward.
Big thumbs up! Would definitely recommend.

I am happy to have made the switch to Blink Optometric from my regular eye doctor. Dr. Hua was very attentive, energetic, and took time to explain what she was doing and why she was doing it. I didn’t even have to ask for a written prescription — she just gave handed it to me at the end of the appointment. At my previous doctor I would practically have to beg to get the paper prescription.
The location is convenient and they have clean and modern facilities. The option for appointments on Saturday is a big help for my schedule.
I will be going back and recommend them.

Service started the moment I called on the phone to inquire about their pricing. I wasn’t exactly sure which insurance plan I had and the receptionist helped me find it. Fortunately they accepted my plan. I had called two other places and the receptionists didn’t even ask if I’d like to schedule an appointment. If I were training receptionists I’d want them to always inquire like the ones at Blink. Not pushy just helpful!
Came in and had my exam with Dr. Hua. The exam only took about 20 minutes. She was professional, friendly and informative. We found our family eye doctor. A quick tip. Wear your sunglasses people. Everyone will get cataracts if you live long enough, but those shades will push it back.
Making sure that my wife gets her exam here as well. Glass frames were a bit limited according to my tastes, but there was a decent enough selection. I just have an odd shaped head and need particular specs.
PS…can someone change the photo cover for this business? That dilated eye is a little unnerving :)

Having just moved here, I relied solely on fellow Unilocalers to find an optometrist. Thank you Unilocalers! The leader sets the tone for an office, company or organization. In this case, Dr. Tang’s courteous nature, professional manner and just authentic kindness spills over to the rest of his staff. I have worn contacts for more than 30 years and so I’ve had my share of experiences with optometrists. He’s top-​notch!
The office is a bit hard to find so park near Building 1 (even though it says Suite 206). The office is in Building 1 on the second floor.

Super helpful staff! I felt well taken care of when I was getting my contacts and eye glasses. :] I do not remember the names of the staff members who helped me but everyone was awesome.
It is kind of a pain to find but other than that, I had no issues. Highly recommend!

Their is a reason why this practice is 5 stars! I would definitely give 10 if I could. Dr. Tang is awesome! From the moment I walked in the door to the moment I left i felt the hospitality. Dr Tang is very knowledgable and listens to every question I had. He even took a super cool up close photo of my eyes! Would definitely recommend him to anyone interested in getting an exam. Wait time took about 5 minutes and exam about another 20. They accepted my insurance and didn’t pressure me into buying their glasses. Only downfall is I couldn’t find the practice at first but neighbors are very friendly and showed me the way to his office! Thank you Dr Tang !! :-)

I’ts been 2 years in a row where I have gotten my eyes checked with Dr. Tang. He is always very kind and professional when I visit and constantly gives me great advice on where I can improve my eye health and care. I know there are other places closer to me where I could get my eyes checked every year but enjoy the hospitality that comes with Blink Optometric.

I was looking for a new optometrist in the East Bay, and found this one on Unilocal.The reviews matched my experience! Kelvin was patient and caring, informative and friendly.
Then I stopped in to get my glasses that I ordered online readjusted and they fit great! They also put Rx lenses in my sunglasses and they were done in just a few days!

My experience here was one of the best i have ever had at any optometry office here in the bay area. The staff here (Jessica and Fikreta) are very professional and made me feel very welcomed as well as Dr Tang hes one of the best in the business and the rest of the staff. My examination went smoothly, i received my glasses in less then 7days and they are the best looking and most comfortable pair of glasses ive ever owned. I recommend if your in the market for a new pair of glasses or contacts come here you will walk out a very happy customer… Great prices as welll

Dr. Tang is by far the most personable and knowledgable optometrist I’ve ever seen. I’ve had about 3 different eye doctors within the past few years. Each one of those doctors either 1) didn’t provide the proper prescription or 2) were unable to articulate why my eyes were in the condition they are in.
Dr. Tang took the time to explain each process and the condition my eyes are in. He also provided me with 4 different prescriptions along with trial pairs to truly make sure I’m satisfied. If I could give 10 stars I would.

I called Blink Optometric a few days ago to double check if they accept my insurance which they said they did. Therefore, I scheduled an appointment for this morning. When I arrived, they gave me all the forms to complete and then I got called by the doctor. Few minutes later, a girl from reception came in to tell me that they don’t accept my insurance and that I’d have to pay $ 150 for the eye exam. So I left because my insurance covers eye exams 100%.
I am very disappointed because I don’t have a lot of full days off and this was a total waste of my morning.
