Love this place! My hubby is a local who remembers coming here in HS. I love the family salad and the pizza is yummy and crispy. The staff is really nice and friendly. My son loves the cheese bread!

Cool spot, good atmosphere, pizza is OK. Coming from managing a high(er)end pizza restaurant, I really can’t find pizza that is as enjoyable as that place was. This place does have great service but lacks character when it comes to the ingredients used. I go back because of the service and location. A smile and a nod is all I need sometimes to keep me a happy customer. This is a family style, nostalgic eating grounds. Go and try it out!

Hands down the BEST pizza in Walnut Creek, or CoCo County for that matter! If you’re looking to splurge on some premium toppings pizza, this is the place. The Bud Jones and Madonna are my faves however I haven’t actually had one pizza there that I did not develop a crush on. The tater tots are pretty good also, totally random that they sell those but they do and we eat them! haha They deliver beer also, which is famazing although slightly overpriced(it was about $ 4 per regular sized bottles of Stella, yikes!). But this review is about the pizza, and the pizza is amazing. Thanks for adding to my waistline, Pinky’s!

I went to Pinkies last week for pizza and salad. It was not as good as I expected. The dough was kind of dry/flaky and the sauce was definitely missing something. The salad was like iceberg lettuce and it was definitely not fresh. The lettuce was warped and discolored. Not sure if I went on an off day, but it was not what I expected.

I love Pinkys! Erika at the bar is the best! So sweet and attentive. Even when I’ve ordered out, everyone at the register has been helpful. And I like the décor on my pizza box. And the pizza is good. And they have a frequent buyer card.

I cut my teeth at the old location and have more happy memories eating and playing Pole Position there than Unilocal wants or cares to hear about. I always hoped they’d reopen and I eagerly watched the hints and progress unfold on Facebook… finally after much painful teasing it was back!!! Then I moved out of state, ugh! I managed to get one pizza before I moved, and a t-shirt to cling to. Now I eat here every time I am back in town. Last time I got four pizzas to go I missed it so much. And I taunt other Walnut Creek transplants in Washington state every time I do. Seriously, it’s super mean, the pizza there tastes like hot pocket filling on soda bread. It’s… super weird. And not good. Growing up I always ate the combo my parents ordered and longed to pick the toppings. Now? I order the same damn thing and even though my family is gone now it tastes like a family dinner. Something about the salad in the wooden bowl and crushed ice holds a special place in my heart. And the pizza tastes like it should. I was a little shocked to see reviews from people who didn’t like the pizza. I noticed one even said they’d been meaning to eat there since they moved to Walnut Creek, so I’m just assuming those reviews are from transplants to the area and they just don’t have the history with Pinky’s to know how welcome they are to be back in town. Maybe they’re from Washington state?

Sandwich was small and messy, not very well made. Potato salad was alright, left hungry not wanting to order more. There are better restaurants for similar prices in almost the immediate vicinity, I would go to those.

Pinky’s Pizza gets my vote for«Best pizza in Walnut Creek», hands down. The crust on their pies has a certain crispiness to them that is just perfect. It’s solid enough so that you can hold a piece without it folding in half on you, even with all the toppings they pile on, and they really do pile them on. Another note about the toppings: They are kind of loose on top instead of baked into it. In a way it makes it taste fresher. Two pies were tried, and enjoyed: The King Ruben has a lot of great toppings on it: Two meats(linguica and sausage), onion, bell pepper, and diced tomato. It looks, and tastes like a traditional Combination style pizza, with one extra kicker: Jalapenos in the crust. Each bite is accompanied by an extra bit of heat from a source that can’t be viewed, and I love it! The Kyle is one that strays from traditional just a little. It has green onion, pepperoncini’s, garlic, bell pepper, and a tomato-pesto sauce. Instead of being heavy and rich like a normal pizza is, it’s incredibly light and fresh. The cheese is another element where you can really taste the quality. They don’t use a lot of it, but what there is just incredible. The happy hour is pretty awesome, and since Pinky’s is only feet away from my job, I get to take full advantage of it. They have $ 2.00 beers, and if the wasn’t enough to bring me back, the happy hour would. The people who work here are pretty awesome. I’ve been here only twice, and one of the employees already recognized me. Everyone is nice, friendly, and they all just make you feel welcome. I highly recommend this place, especially to the pizza fans out there.

I love Pinky’s! I’m so glad they reopened in Walnut Creek. Nice location with parking. Good service. The wings and crazy tater tots they make are great!

Great variety of toppings. The pizza is loaded. Reminds me of an old school pizza parlor. We got the plan cheese pizza for the kiddos and the cheese stretched for miles. Bud Jones wasn’t my thing but my guy really enjoyed it. And Lily Special is smoking hot! If you like spicy pizza that’s the one to get. My family and I will definitely be back! Great staff too!

My first pizza ordered since I moved to Walnut Creek and it was delicious. All of the ingredients were fresh and the pizza was hot when delivered. I ordered the Madonna which was perfect as well as the garlic cheese bread. Let’s say Pinky’s is going to be my new go to spot.

Nearly 2 months after our first visit to Pinky’s we decided to keep our word and give them another chance but this time order Pizza. After all, they are Pinky’s Pizza and not Pinky’s Sandwiches(read first review to get the relevance of this statement). Friday night and no parking in the lot. I am picking up to go, no designated spots and I am forced to pay at the meter. I enter and not to my surprise they act as if my order was never called in. After some back and forth they found my ticket and asked me to give them some time to complete the wings. This visit we order a medium thin crust pizza with pepperoni, sausage and salami plus an order of Buffalo wings. A short time had passed and I was content watching the Warriors in double overtime with the Celtics, the matriarch of the kitchen says«order is done». I pay $ 33.07 and hike back to my metered car so that I can enjoy this Friday night dinner with my wife while watching 3 episodes of SAMCRO. Opening the pizza box we found a somewhat small $ 22.00 medium pizza and a colorless baked version of Buffalo wings(8 count @ $ 9.00). After positioning ourselves in front of our Costco TV(check review on Costco) we began our second taste of Pinky’s. I started with the pizza and then tried a wing. I was somewhat in shock and therefore decided to take a few more bites before I questioned my taste buds ability to judge food. First thing to come to mind was«Damn, they have one hell of a magic oven» Again, the oven baked the flavor right out of the food. How do you bake a pizza with spicy meats and get no flavor? The wings texture was flimzy, baked without a detection of sauce and left with the trouble of applying sauce from one little container included with the wings. The pizza contained structure but was small and lacked considerable flavor. For the price we paid there are many other options that deliver a better product. I so much wanted this place to succeed on this visit because I love to support family style establishments. I suppose I will continue to spend my money at Rocco’s where the pizza has flavor and one feels like they get something for their money. I again gave Pinky’s 3 stars although the food only deserves 2 because they are a family business and the people who work their seem to be very nice. I do not see myself giving Pinky’s a third try. For some reason and perhaps it is me, their food lacks flavor…

Great pizza made of fresh cheese and good size. Great ambience always crowded when you go in the evenings. They have good selection of beers on the tap and bottle. The pizza Doug is also fresh and toppings are good. They have specials too. This is not a chain like pizza guys or dominoes etc. therefore the ingredients are not bulk made in factories for the pizza to be under $ 10. This is a mom and pop type of place. If you are looking for fresh, good size, great ambience and local business this is the place go for it.

Pizza was incredible and mini Monday means a great price. Love the atrium more than the inside. It was quiet when we arrived but that’s only because we were there midday on a short week

We decided to give Pinky’s a try for lunch. We aren’t usually pizza eaters for lunch, so we ordered sandwiches. For $ 11.95 we got the combo, which consisted of a sandwich, chips or potato salad, and a drink. I ordered a turkey on sourdough. Got the chips and soda from the bar, and we sat until our sandwiches arrived. My sandwich was so so… not a lot of turkey and not very flavorful. It had provolone, mayo, lettuce, pickles and a few jalapeños. The sourdough roll was toasted and pretty darn good compared to my husbands whose French roll was a wee bit over toasted. We will give Pinky’s another try perhaps for pizza and wings. It is a large establishment that resembles a sports bar. The staff is very friendly. Apparently is has been around since ’63, so this family owned restaurant must be doing something right

I have been eating at Pinky’s Pizza in Walnut Creek since I was a kid. I was so sad when the original California Blvd location closed years back and ABSOLUTELYECSTATIC when they reopened to their new location on N. Broadway by the main post office. While I sort of miss the«old» 70“s style digs, I like the new atmosphere. It’s clean, larger and updated & more importantly, the owners stuck to the awesome recipes that made this a mainstay of every walnut creek resident for decades! They actually use a pizza oven! No pizza should ever be cooked in a conveyor-belt-style oven. A pizza needs a pizza oven that’s been cooking food for years & years, like an awesome cast-iron skillet that is seasoned & cooks food to perfection! I hate to harp on this but it’s a pet peeve of mine. In my opinion, I really dislike the chain pizza joints, as the cardboard pizza’s they generate with their flavorless ingredients really shouldn’t be called pizza. But not Pinky’s, they stick to fresh food and absolutely fresh flavors. I have never been disappointed with a meal whether dining in or at home. SIDENOTE: I have also taken a lot of my hard-to-please-East-Coast friends and extended family here & let me say, not one complained about anything they ate, EXCEPT they wanted more! :-) WOW! So check out their pizza, salads, sandwiches etc… you will get great food, great service and have a great dining experience. It’s also a great place for big-screen sports watching and is safe for families & has room for groups. They have a really nice bar too which offers soda, beer etc. So go in and have some real pizza! & have fun! :-)

My awesome review is long overdue. I started coming to Pinky’s after seeing the sign for $ 2 beers which is every Thursday. The owner Dan is awesome and the entire staff is always nice and welcoming. Ruben at the bar is wicked awesome as well! The pizza is always great and the selection of beers is great too! Whether you’re in the mood for a beer or food, Go To Pinky’s Pizza!

1st time here came here to meet some friends for pizza. Built my own pizza which tasted pretty good It’s a small nice little pizza shop with some old school videos games and claw machines in the corner. Thats pretty awesome if you bring any kids or want to play some old school games they give you the option here. Not a lot of pizza places still do that like the old good times. There are few Tvs here too which makes it very nice to catch any sport game is going on. they also have a bar section too which is nice if you wanna grab a beer and watch the game you can pull out a stool and watch it close up. It is a little pricey for a pizza and drinks. But they also have nice friendly workers here to which makes it very nice, the host up front was very helpful.

This pizza place is great, they have some funky and funny names for their pizzas. I was happy I was able to order a personal madonna pizza and I was full by ½ way. Will come again for a quick lunch treat. I HIGHLY recommend the white garlic sauce on your pizza!

Went here with some friends to watch the Warriors game a couple weeks ago. I was pleasantly surprised. It’s just your nice traditional pizza parlor. The kind where you can take your ball team after a game or meet some friends to watch on. Drinks and food are priced fairly and the staff is friendly. It can get a little hectic with the place packed with kids and softball players but hey that’s the ambiance you want at a place like this. I’d probably not come here with a date to get to know them. Plenty of TV’s at every angle to watch whatever sporting event you’re looking for. As far as the pizza goes it’s good not great. Gets the job done. Plenty of beer and wine to wash it all down. It’s nice to see establishments like this surviving the hipsterness of the restaurant world these days.
