Rexx and Robbie finished up a rather difficult (to me) exterior trim, exterior doors, garage doors and shed trim/​door paint project to this tired old house. In need of a complete paint job, not just the particulars as listed, it was not easy soliciting bids from contractors who were either fully booked all summer (my hunt started June 1, so I was behind the 8 ball to start) or who flat out told me that my job was either too small, or too difficult to take on. I kind of knew this project would end up being a PITA type, so I wasn’t hopeful for the 6 weeks it took me to find Steady Hand. Which, I did, right here on Unilocal!First time for everything I guess… I was not disappointed in the pricing, which was the lowest of my 6 bids, and in the quality of paint, workmanship and how the job progressed. Rexx even offered to put my project ahead of the next in line to accommodate a family emergency that came up a few weeks before our anticipated start date. I appreciated that.
I am very happy with Steady Hand Paint Professionals finished work, and would happily have them paint the next house we end up in!

Rexx and crew did an amazing job on our Tice Valley home and we are very happy to recommend him! We have a cedar shingle home that he cleaned and stained, he painted the trim and doors, refinished our teak decks and stairs, painted our deck rails and iron railings. Steady Hand just finished painting the exterior of our old house in Tice Valley. There was a LOT of prep work to be done beforehand. Rexx and his buddy did a great job. They were efficient and conscientious (and quiet!). We heartily recommend them for any painting project you have.

I have a old house in Saranap and Rexx and his crew took the extra time and effort to prep the entire house and do everything right. One of the rare people who cares about the work they do. He even came back after he was paid and done to add a coat of paint to the trim so you couldn’t see the old wood raising through the new paint.

I don’t usually post reviews but I just had to here. The owner Rexx and his partner just painted our house. They did a great job, and at a fair price. Hands down, one of the more reputable and honest companies I have seen, which is so rare these days. Our 17 year old house now looks brand new. Rexx and his partner paid great attention to detail in both their prep work and the actual painting. I think they went over each wall about six times to make sure they caught everything. They really were good. Very professional and at a reasonable price. Unlike some painters, they also always cleaned up after each day’s work. I wish more companies were like Steady Hand.

Rexx painted the exterior of our Antioch two story home with lots of detailed trim. The job was done in about five days, on time and at a price 30% lower than a competitor’s estimate. We had no concerns and they left no traces except the crisp new paint and caulk. Rexx is very friendly and polite and professional. He even spared our lemon tree with its sharp branches abutting the house so we could harvest the developing lemons. I’m not sure how he worked around it.

Our brown shingle home in Piedmont hasn’t had any work done on its exterior for more than 35 years. Rexx and his partner power-​washed and then stained our home and it looks great! My neighbors have been complimenting me daily!

Rexx Creelman provided the best professional painting services for my company in Hawaii, and he is definitely missed. I have not been able to find another licensed painter at his caliber for any price since he moved to California a few years ago.
I’m seeing in the reviews that his prices are low in comparison to other painting companies and I understand that it takes a few years to get started in a new area, so I would highly suggest hiring him now before his rates go up. Honestly, he was always organized, efficient, focused on detail and very knowledgeable on everything he did for our customers. We primarily worked with property managers, Realtors and homeowners who had high-​end properties with heavy salt-​exposure damage and mold issues. Rexx would always find the solution and the properties would go from old and a bit rundown, to new looking again. No marketing was needed — word of mouth was sufficient. Rexx would do amazing things with exterior wood too!
I’m no longer offering painting services here in Hawaii as our clients’ high expectations have been let down with the various «replacements». If you’re looking for a professional painter in the Bay area, Rexx Creelman and Steady Hand Painting Professionals are your answer!

Rexx Creelman and Steady Hand Painting just completed painting my 2 story home in Martinez California and I could not be happier. The work was done in a timely and professional manner and the house looks spectacular. Rexx and his partner addressed all the details from prep to clean up without a hitch. They work so efficiently and quietly (no pounding boom box or yelling from a over manned crew) that you almost forget they are there. I took bids from several painting contractors and Steady Hand came in significantly lower but I can say without reservation that I don’t think anyone could have done a better job. I really don’t like giving 5 star reviews as perfection should be unattainable but I just can’t come up with any complaints. Give Steady Hand a call for any painting needs. You won’t be disappointed.

I hired Rexx last summer to wash and stain my cedar shingle house and deck and paint a room. The shingles, which were more than 20 years old, went from being almost black to looking almost new. Their work was really professional and the shingles and deck have survived the winter without peeling and still look great. Their estimate also came in below two other companies. He and his partner do the work themselves without hiring day workers or trying to sell you vinyl siding. I’m very happy with the way the house looks and will use them for any future work.
