I wavered when trying to decide on a hotel for my half marathon weekend in Amish Country. On one hand, I was intrigued by the bed and breakfasts all over the place, but on the other hand, I wanted guaranteed comfort and luxury after beating my body up during the race. I landed on the Wallhouse and am SOGLAD this is where we ended up. I paid a little extra for a view and it was amazing. The shower was large and luxurious and the pool area was just what I wanted for a quick swim the night before the race. The room was clean and amenities were aplenty. The staff was also incredible here. Super nice, always smiling, and ready to help when needed. I’d recommend the Wallhouse for anyone looking to stay in a more modern/luxurious space while visiting the area.

This place ROCKS! My big, comfy, modern room featured a king-size bed, a beautiful tiled walk-in shower, and a balcony with a beautiful view of the Amish country side Free breakfast was a welcome treat. Free wi-fi also, a workout room, pool, patio with a fire pit, and some of the nicest staff I’ve ever encountered. Everyone was friendly and aimed to please. The hotel is very clean and well-appointed, and the rates are quite reasonable. The hotel is close to everything Amish country has to offer. I wouldn’t hesitate to book another room at the Wallhouse.

Why didn’t I think of it? A place where we want to stay in Amish country that feels modern, not more of the same. Stayed a night in Fall with wife and 3 young kids. Loved the pool, fire pit, and, well, everything. The staff is very approachable and willing to help. Right across the street from Colblentz chocolate factory, a la Lucille Ball conveyor belt scene in the back. Rebecca’s café is across the highway too… fresh, city eats with even Amish and Mennonites lined up. We drove around and«got lost on purpose» one afternoon and saw so many unique sights. The Farm at Walnut Creek was a hit with the kids and took up a morning, too. Great job, Wall House. Breakfast: loved the steel cut oats. Questioned the powdered eggs… there has to be a way of doing real eggs with just a warming kitchen — portable electric griddle? And non fresh baked goods in the middle of Amish country? You are serving guests who know the difference. Anyway, aye a 4.9/5.0…we will be back!

What a great place in the middle of Amish Country. This is not some little cute inn run by a Bob Newhouse. This is a sleek modern hotel with everything ANDMORE you could ask for in lodging. The rooms are great the staff is even better. Don’t look for Amish quilts on the bed they’re not there. But look for a New York style hotel ran by the locals. The Hotel Director Leon Troyer is guest’s dream. Friendly and will do almost anything to make your style happy. This place is a gem and I would stay here again and again!

Wow! This facility is all about clean lines, sleek décor, cool colors, modern décor — all the while being warm and welcoming. I don’t know how they did it, but they did! The staff is efficient, friendly, spectacular and always anxious to help. I never saw anyone here without a smile and pleasant demeanor. The room are well laid out and spacious. There is not a spec of dirt to be found anywhere. I am blown away! If you’re looking for a weekend of leaf peeping or a week of fresh air away from the city, you must stay here.

«Toto, I don’t think we’re in Holmes County any more!» I’ve been coming to Amish Country Ohio for 20 years, and have never seen a hotel here like the Wallhouse. The hotel is utterly modern. No flower prints, lace or Amish quilts anywhere. You could be in Boston or Chicago or New York. But definitely not in Walnut Creek. It’s like some locals decided to open a hotel, but said«I’m SO sick of Amish decorating!!!» Very, very friendly staff. Nice, albeit minimalist decorated rooms. Very comfortable beds. Brand new and impeccably clean. Great indoor pool and hot tub. Really nice outdoor patio with 2 gas firepits. If you want local, Amish ambiance, this is NOT for you. But if you’re tired of flower prints and lace, and want a more modern hotel experience, The Wallhouse Hotel is great. WHATTHEYCOULDDOBETTER -(meant constructively) — 1) powdered scrambled eggs on the buffet?!? In the heart of Amish country?!? Are you serious?!? Shame on you!!! I don’t care if you’re trying for a New York hotel experience — the breakfast buffet could use a little higher budget. Tell the owners not to be so cheap. You’re charging full price for the rooms. Give a quality breakfast. 2) the water pressure in our bathroom was too low. I don’t know if they’re using flow restrictors, or just have low water pressure, but the water pressure in the sink and shower was not strong enough for our liking.
