Mawash color corrected my cousin’s hair and she didn’t use bleach to do it which is amazing! She took her time and was very, very patient. My cousin said she was the best colorist she has ever been to in California! I will definitely go to her if I ever want highlights!

I’ve been going to Mawash for over a year now and my hair always looks great.
Mawash is a very talented and creative stylist. She’s a hard worker and always makes sure she gives her best. She is full of positive energy and very friendly.
What I like most about Mawash is that she’s open to listening to any and every suggestion I have for a hair style and always works with me to make sure I love the end result. My husband has been coming here for over 3 years. She’s our regular :).

I’ve been going to Mawash for almost two years now for my highlights and cuts. I am naturally a dark blonde/​light brown and really wanted a more natural blonde look. She does an excellent job of this. I’ve tried going to other places, but have ended up with platinum barbie blonde look and an orangey look neither of which I wanted! Ugh! I really trust her and always feel comfortable leaving her salon with my cut/​color. More recently Mawash styled my moms, sisters, and my hair for my sisters wedding. She even made our clip in extensions for us. Mawash pays much attention to detail and is a perfectionist with her work which is just what we needed for the wedding. She is very talented and can also do great work it in a timely matter. She has a strong personality, but for good reason as she knows what shes doing– so expect to get recommendations from her! I highly recommend her for highlights and weddings. Thanks Mawash! :)

Mahwash does such a nice style and cut! She is so nice and friendly and willing to do the best job possible. I will definitely be back!

Mahwash, is terrible. I will never ever go back to her for a color or a cut or refer anyone because she doesn’t listen. She did not color my hair correctly so I asked her to fix it. She wanted to charge me an additional $ 80 on top of the $ 140 I already paid. Don’t go to this salon, its a waste of money because she will not listen to you to get the look you want. I only gave her one star because I had to give one in order to leave a review. Unilocal change it so that we could give negative stars. If there was a way to give negative stars I would give her several. I still don’t understand why she was listed as #1 colorist in bay area, that is a LIE!

Mahwash is awesome — always satisfied! She takes great care, never rushes, ad is sweet personality. I highly recommend her.

I am naturally a darker blonde, and I usually just stick with platinum highlights a couple times a year to lighten my face. Deciding I «needed» something new, I got a wild hair, and went straight for a cheap box of bleach at CVS. Needless to say, after very restless night, I wound up in this nice salon. I tried several other places in Walnut Creek, but they all told me I was out of luck, and that I’d have to deal until their next opening. I could NOT settle for later. The 12 hours I spent looking like a clown put a crick in my neck; I even shamefully threw on my husbands ball cap. Anyway, enough ranting.
Almost in tears, I called Turquoise, and the owner confidently told me she would see me at 1pm. Her last words before she hung up, «Ah, that’s my specialty!» Talk about instant relief! I called at 10am and she had me in by 1pm., not because she wasn’t busy, but because she had a special event to go to that night. She STAYED AFTER to fix my mop!!! I arrived embarrassed, and still shamefully wearing my husbands ball cap. I was almost in tears once again just trying to explain myself. I told her «Just make it all brown, just do it.» She could tell I was passionate about my blonde, so she swayed my opinion to a brown base with subtle blonde highlights. She did it this way to avoid any more damage, and so I could keep some blonde. I thought I was in over my head…
An hour and a half later she finished! After she dries my hair I can’t contain myself!!! I leave with my ball cap in my purse, and a smile on my face! I have never been so thankful in my entire life. This salon a hidden jewel in Downtown Walnut Creek!!!

Erika is great with my hair. She is also such a sweetie and fun to see. She listens and takes suggestions, and also does some new things with my hair that I love.
I’ve referred many friends and all are happy!

I have had my hair styled and colored by Mahwash at least 60 times (every six weeks for eight years) and have always been totally happy with both the result and the experience.
I’ve always found Mahwash to listen closely and give me her full attention and be very professional.
Most importantly, I usually get a compliment from someone in the next day or so that my haircut looks nice, or better yet, that I look younger. :-)

Horrible three haircuts from Mahwash. I tried. Now done. She has a super strong personality and has her own way of doing things. She burnt my scalp from leaving color and processor on too long. And gave a bad cut. Went back to have her fix it and now it is two different haircuts. There is no middle to this cut. Looks awful and I’m having a hard time wearing it.
