I can’t believe that this placed closed and they turned it into some Mediterranean/Persian restaurant. I was there when they were still renovating the place and I ask them if Ranch House was going to come back, they said yes but apparently they lied

Why did this place close? This was the best deal in town! I was trying to see if there were any affiliated restaurants or any kinds of franchises. The prime rib and chicken combo was great! Please respond with your new location! I’ll be there.

This is an awesome place to eat if you’re hungry and broke. They have a huge prime rib dinner plate for only $ 8.99! You’d think that an $ 8.99 dinner would taste like shit right? Nope, it’s fucking delicious! They offer breakfast dishes here too. I’ve had the omelettes here and they’re way better than Denny’s or IHOP omelettes. I can’t really say anything bad about Ranch House. Don’t expect Lawry’s quality here. Take it for what it is, a nice tasty meal that won’t break the bank. Give it a try. Oh they serve beer here too!

Prime rib and steak in Diamond Bar! I was a bit confused when I entered the restaurant, but turns out, upon entrance, order on your left side first! They have several different meat options, a soup and salad bar, and burgers. I have not been here for breakfast, but I know this is a popular brunch place. Was here on a Saturday night. Ordered the New York Strip, with steak fries and broccoli flowers — all for under $ 10! Nice. To be honest, I was not expecting much, given the price, but I was overwhelmed with all the food I got. My NY Strip was cooked rare, and it turned out pretty well! It was nicely seasoned with pepper too, so I didn’t add much to it. My fries were pretty big, I actually had to eat my broccoli first. Yeah, I struggled with finishing this meal, but I did, and I would say it was pretty well worth the price and visit. The service here was good. Well, the cashier was really nice. After ordering, you sit at your table and the food comes to you, unless you’re doing the buffet, then that’s self-serve. Casual atmosphere, too. Would like to come back for brunch though!

The snobby hipsters expecting gluten free pancakes with fair trade coffee, or the faux foodies who thought a $ 9.99 prime rib dinner was supposed to be Lawrys are probably skewing the ratings. We came for breakfast and got the $ 3.99 and $ 4.99 breakfast combos. You get a thick 49er pancake(think corn bread), two eggs, bacon or sausage, and potatoes. Everything came out fresh and tasted great. It tastes better than iHop and Denny’s that’s for sure, not to mention it was alot cheaper. Don’t let the misguide ratings fool you, everyone thinks they’re a walking zagat because they ate at a few nice restaurants and took nice macro photos. A breakfast at McDonald’s is more expensive and that meat isn’t even real.

This place is located right next to the busy outdoor Farmer’s Market that my parents go to ALL the freaking time! We came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning and it is so cheap! $ 3.99 for the good morning combo as Anna C. mentioned earlier — 2 strips of bacon or sausage, 2 eggs, and one large pancake. They also have other entrees and a la carte here for lunch or dinner. I’d consider this an IHOP/Denny’s equivalent but maybe even a little cheaper. Service is pretty average — you order up front, sit down, and they bring the food to the table. The waitresses/waiters are a little lackluster but you shouldn’t expect spectacular service anyways. This place is affordable and is you typical American joint and although probably not the healthiest option in the world, is a good spot if you want a change from Denny’s.

Sunday morning… Looking for a quick, «sit down» breakfast place and happened upon The Ranch House. You walk in, place your order at the counter and are given a number to place on your table for the waitress. Dining room was about half-full at 8:30 and the food came out quickly. We were pleasantly surprised when the cashier said they still had their $ 3.99 specials on the weekend(unlike some other chain restaurants). Ended up ordering two of the $ 4.99 specials with 2 eggs, 2 bacon or sausage, pancake, and potatoes and 2 drinks totaling less than $ 16. Everything tasted great, especially the pancake — Light, airy, and fluffy but not too sweet. It was more than enough food, ended up bringing most of the pancakes home. Will definitely be coming back soon!

Great price for what you’re getting. $ 3.99 for a goodmorning combo; 2 strips of bacon or sausage, 2 eggs, one large fluffy pancake. They have unlimited salad bar for 5.99. Or 3.99 additional to an entrée. I would recommend coming here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner :)

3.69 stars, Average, down to earth, well-price, Americana diner, comfy, food good but not fancy or top chef. –Service was amazing –Waitresses were awesome –Atmosphere was homey –Seats were relaxing My final birthday dinner of 2014 and it was awesome! Thank you Niki S for a cool time and a new dining experience. Seats, especially the soft booths were very comfortable. Very homely and relaxed atmosphere The chicken fried steak was better than the prime rib. I like eating pink but not on a steak. Entrees and sides are not something to write home to the cows too, especially since cows can’t read. I found the onion straws delightful, but if you are not into old fashioned Americana salty greasy, you will not like it. I enjoyed the juices, you have the choice of apple, orange or cranberry. Coffee was satisfactory Salad bar seemed limited but I enjoyed the chicken & veggie soup, though it may be salty for some taste. Service was polite, helpful, knowledgable and respectful. One toilet per gender. Parking was ample. Freeways were nearby. I wish they had ice cream as Niki wanted some. So… I decided to take my Unilocal friend Vince V to this«Ranch» house for his birthday… Service is 5 stars. even it is self serve drink bar and salad bar, the waitress still came often to check on us and take away dirty plates. You place order at the register and they will bring out the food to you. I had prime rib dinner(8 oz) $ 8.99 add $ 3 for unlimited soup and salad. $ 1.99 for unlimited drink. I would suggest skip the salad bar because it’s kind boring, just typical salad stuff that you can buy at supermarket at eat at home. fruit choices were limited only grape and cantaloupe. There were 3 choices of soup, cream broccoli, chicken rice and I forgot the last one. My cream broccoli soup was heavily creamed and tasted average. Now to the prime rib, I ordered medium rare and it came out pink. looked very promising? right? WRONG!!! HOWEVER, it did not taste medium rare at all. It’s dry, see photo of the side. I almost though they just dye the meat to make it look pink.(or maybe the lighting???) My personal chef Garfield said it’s just really bad quality meat. I think it depends on your luck. Frank S did get nice prime rib here while Phil Y agreed with me as his last visit experience. And damn Frank did not tell me to ask for horseradish sauce until later that day. I guess you have to ask for it. The two sides, asparagus and onion ring were all average at best. Not bad. My friend’s country fried steak($ 6.99) did taste good but I think Denny’s has same thing made exact this way I had once very long ago. I do like their drink bar that offer pure apple juice(cranberry, orange juice and one other juice) besides soda. They also have coffee(regular and decaf) so I can make my own iced coffee. If you need coffee mug you have to ask for it.(if you drink it hot). Overall a pleasant dining experience with very comfortable booth seating and not crowded because the restaurant is spacious and service was super friendly. If you like Norm, Denny’s Sizzler type of food this place maybe be better but that is about it. btw, happy birthday Vince:)

We tried Ranch House on the recommendation of another Unilocaler(thanks, Theo) and were glad we did. Ranch house is a place like nothing else I have seen for a while. You walk up and view the menu and order(the prices are wonderfully low and there is a great selection of comfort foods, including breakfast served all day). We ordered a French dip, Country Fried Steak with two sides, a mushroom swiss burger, 3 soup & salad bars and 3 beverage bars and our total was $ 38.08. They also do not allow for tipping here so that was our total out the door. After ordering, they give you a number and you look for a place to sit. There is quite a bit of seating but on this night, a LOT of tables needed bussing so we didn’t have may choices of where to sit, but it was fine. We enjoyed the salad bar(totally decent for the prices) and refilled our own drinks from many choices(so we never had to wait) and then our food came out. Everything was good, no surprises. We enjoyed this café and will come back when in the area again. We also look forward to checking our the big Farmer’s Market next door!

Bf’s parents wanted something different to eat, so we looked on Unilocal and found awesome reviews for Ranch House. Unfortunately, the directions were incorrect or the map was showing Ranch House at a different location(it was showing it in the same center as Big Boy’s), but it’s actually next to the Mobil gas station. Walked into the building and turned left to get to the cashier. Put in our order and then walked to get our drinks and, for those who had the salad bar, got plates for the salad. Found a table. Placed our number on the side of the table and waited. Service was really good. The cashier was very patient, and helped us with our choices. The servers were bussing tables whenever they could, and the place was pretty clean. When we got our food, We had no real problems other than the mistake that the bf’s mom’s steak was put on the bf’s plate, and his steak was put on hers(they had different sides). That being said, we made a quick steak switcheraroo and munched on our items. For the price, the steak was very worth it(under $ 10, I think?), and was cooked pretty well. Not the best steak out there but, for the price, not bad at all. The bf’s dad had the trout, which he was okay with. Bf’s mom and dad had the loaded potato, which they looked very happy about. I had the Ranch House burger, which was pretty good. Juicy and yet it had a nice charbroiled crisp on the actual meat patty and the bun. Niiiiiice. I really like their specials. Breakfast served all day, and some of the meals starting at $ 3.99. Clientele is all mixed from all sorts of backgrounds with one goal: to eat good food. So, had no real issues with any other customers. May be back. I think the turn-off that people might have is that although the place is very clean, there are parts of it that look pretty dated, like 1980’s or so. We had no problem with it, but I didn’t see very many young people in the restaurant. Service is great, prices are very reasonable, and food is tasty.

Throughout all these years in Diamond Bar, I can’t believe I never tried this place until recently. The service here was great! I definitely like the enthusiasm and positivity in this restaurant. They remind me of Mama D’s Italian Kitchen at Newport Beach for their«at-home» atmosphere. The line was not bad for a Friday night. We ordered the unlimited soup and salad bar for $ 3 more with burger or entrée, guacamole burger, and prime rib entrée. There were about three soups, but I only drank the vegetable soup and it wasn’t salty! I was surprised myself… even Olive Garden’s minestrone is salty. I drank about 4 bowls of these as it was that good! The salad could have been better as there were some browning because of the cold temperature. Some of the items looked dry and some looks very fresh. What I didn’t like was the salad dressings because customers kind of mixed them when they were trying not to spill in the other salad dressings… but that isn’t the restaurant’s fault. However, I was satisfied still… it’s unlimited! The guacamole burger was delicious for $ 5.99! I love how the brioche bread was grilled to give it some flavor and crisp! The meat was cooked very well with juices still dripping from every bite. The guacamole had a lot of flavor and they were so sweet to give me extra guacamole on the side. I took out the straw onion rings as I am not a fan, and the fries were a bit cold and limpy. The prime rib was cooked to perfection, I am actually quite surprised especially for the price of $ 8.99! It’s like Las Vegas after hours for steak and eggs! Nice and juicy that it just melted in your mouth. The two sides we chose was chili and loaded mashed potatoes. I really wanted to like the chili, but it was again a bit cold… and the loaded mashed potatoes as well… Sigh. Overall, for the price and the service, I definitely would recommend coming here if you are ever in town or on a budget. P. S. If the items were hot and steamy when it came out, it would have easily gotten five stars!

Crazy good deal for pretty decent prime rib! The prime rib dinner here is only $ 8.99 and comes with two sides. They’re known for their chili so I’d pick it as one of the sides. I am not sure if I would venture outside of the prime rib however. As long as you don’t have unrealistic expectations, you will definitely be happy with their prime rib dinner. There were couple things they could work on though that prevents me from giving them 5 stars. Their utensils were dirty and greasy which was quite disgusting. Also, the chili should’ve been served hot but was barely lukewarm. Other than that, everything else was more than satisfactory, including the service.

$ 8.99 prime rib dinner with two sides? That deserves 4 stars. The place looks very diner like and old looking. We went on a week night and it was very empty. The prime rib dinner itself was okay. I ordered the asparagus and mashed potatoes. I got like 4 strings of asparagus and was very disappointed with that. The mashed potatoes had cheese and bacon which made it pretty good. The portion of the prime rib was pretty good since it really was only $ 8.99. I asked for a medium well cause I know prime rib runs a little under, but mine was well done. My friend ordered the medium rare and it was medium. So order one temperature under! On top of our prime rib dinners, we decided to order some of their pancakes! We only ordered the chocolate chip, but they brought out chocolate chip and blueberry, which was nice of them. The pancakes here are really good. They have a nice golden brown crust and the inside is fluffy and light. It’s not dense so it didn’t feel heavy. Definitely would come back here for the $ 8.99 prime rib dinner, but hopefully the prime rib is cooked better the next time.

Food: We went here at 11:30AM and had their breakfast menu. If you get here by 12PM, you can get the prime rib meals which I totally missed out. So instead, and I was really craving red meat, I got the NY steak and eggs. My gf had the eggs, bacon and 49 niners pancake. Maybe I shouldn’t expect much for the steak — as it was a little chewy, but my potato wedges were pretty good. My gf meal tasted okay, the bacon was nice and crispy, but her eggs were odd. She think they used powdered eggs to make the scramble eggs, as the coloring was very off, therefore I did not want to even try that. The pancakes were good. Portion was big. Food Rating: 3⁄5 Service: When we arrived to the café, being it was our first time, one of the employee gave us a quick tutorial on how it works. Service here is actually good. Service Rating: 4⁄5 Price: Expect to pay an average of $ 9 bucks for their breakfast menu. Overall: I didn’t know what to expect out of this place, but when I tried the food and had good service, it was a pretty good dining experience. I’ll come back to try their prime rib and maybe their burger. For it’s value, it’s worth coming back minus the kids who jumps on the dining booth, screaming and yelling.

The Ranch House Café and Grill… not to be confused with the Ranch Restaurant in Anaheim. It has been open for over a year now, but, they finally enticed the family to join them for dinner by sending us some coupons. The parking lot was full when we arrived. It looked promising. The Ranch House Café and Grill is similar in set up to a Sizzlers. You get in line, and you order first. When this place first opened, everything came with the salad bar and cost more. They recently decided to have the salad bar as an option for $ 3 extra. Their prime rib was at the low price of $ 8.99. We ordered 2 prime rib dinners for my wife and I, with one free salad bar courtesy of the coupon. We made the vegetarian daughter eat from the salad bar as well. I attempted to order my prime rib rare, but, the manager told me that he only had it medium rare. My wife ordered hers cooked. After paying, we seated ourselves in a booth. The salad bar was a basic salad bar with salads, salad dressings, and toppings for your salad. It also had a burger bar where you could get condiments for your burger. Also located at the salad bar were the soups. If you are thinking salad bar like at a Sizzlers, you will be disappointed, even with a free salad bar with a coupon. The prime rib came out shortly after the daughter and I were finished with our first round of salad. My meat came out perfectly rare. The meat didn’t have much flavor to it, but, with some Au jus, salt, and horseradish, it made the meat more palatable. I ordered my meal with a side of chili and a grilled asparagus. The chili was flavorful with lots of meat. The asparagus was good. My wife ‘s prime rib was a little overcooked. She didn’t finish it. The daughter had some salad to go with her Ranch dressing. She enjoyed it. Overall, I like the Ranch House. It is a good thing that they lowered their prices. The salad bar should be skipped as there is not much there. The cheap prices and the decent food will bring me back. Tipping is not necessary here. They have a sign on the table that says the best tip is to write a review, or to tell your friends. I’m doing both.
