While I was extremely upset after speaking with the customer service staff at the District I just spoke with the General Manager who reasonably explained the basis for the District’s 12 unit baseline. I expressed to him that I believe it is in everyone’s best interests if the District finds a way to accommodate low income, larger families as an average can, even if unintentionally, effectively discriminate against those who significantly exceed average. He was very good at understanding my concerns and, I believe, will take steps to ensure the potential problem caused by the average is addressed.

Same thing happened to me. How is the owner responsible for this. The water service is in the tenant’s name. There needs to be a class action law suit brought against Walnut Valley Water District.

Our tenant moved out on June 23. We returned his deposit 2 weeks later. Today, July 21, we finally received notice from this company that the tenant still owed unpaid water bills. We have no choice but to eat this bill because this lazy company took their sweet time in notifying us. For anyone managing a property in this area, you will need to take special precaution to check your water bills immediately. By the time you are notified, it will be too late.

My lawn used to be burnt every summer the green grass would turn to black and brown in patches. In the previous years I was watering three times a day for 2 – 3 minutes each time. Well after I had a class at the water district I learned that water only once but water deeply so that the roots get soaked well. So this year I have been watering only in late evening and for a total of six minutes and the grass is dark green thanks to God. With this watering schedule I have saved on my watering bill and have a greener garden. I was able to get a lot of succulent plants or in other words heat tolerant plants or Cactus. Majority came from my neighbors. The places where I have the cacti I rarely water and they still thrive well. So some of my sprinklers I have just tightened their screw to turn the water off. The roses need more water, so if any utensils are hand washed in the kitchen we save the run off water in a container and then feed this water to the roses. This helps in getting a great bloom. We even collect the cold water in a bucket that runs out when you go to shower. No more car washes, we just wipe it with a wet cloth. The result is the lowest water bill in years. I was shocked.
