Today was my first time in since they renovated, and I was very impressed by how nice it looks. I had some time before my 7:00pm meeting across the street at City Hall, and hadn’t had a chance to eat, so I ducked in for a bite. I was in the mood for a good burger and some fries, and they didn’t disappoint. The burger was big and juicy, and had just enough char on the outside to bring out the flavor. The fries were shoestring style and cooked perfectly with a nice flavor. The owner and staff are very friendly. Of course, like any good sports bar, they have plenty of TVs. If you want a sports bar with great food and a friendly atmosphere, check this place out!

Nice and low key bar. This place has a new name! The Pub, soon to be the other place. They have a shuffleboard table!!! A menu with great fish tacos and arancini! It’s clean and new on the inside and there is a great staff!

I think this place is pretty cool. I went here with a friend on a Friday night and there were only 5 people in the entire bar which I loved. The bartender Hector was so friendly and even ordered Chinese Food for us. Great service. It wasn’t busy at all when I went, but I prefer quiet places anyway so this was awesome.

Yeah, so, all y’all haters who flippantly dismiss Sports Pub as «just another Waltham townie watering-hole,» are clearly dumb-dumb heads who don’t know anything about anything because this place is awesome and Jules is the sh! t. You can get like grilled cheese and potato chips late at night and they play darts and one time they were filming a commercial or something and we got to be in it! Um, yeah, there are townies, but that just means that they *GASP* live in the town. I will never understand that stigma. Oh, and no one really watches sports, here, it’s just mostly Keno(whatever that is). Anyway, so if you really like loud, obnoxious but often cerebral hip-hop and metal music, and lots of people smoking outside and cheap beer and fun and some insanity and – I think someone just puked – then come on over t– wait… I dropped my key, wait… I dropped my… WHAT?! I’m writing a review! Hold on… I’M WRITING A REVIEWOFSPORT… I have to go.

It’s a good place to go for some cheap drinks… They have a $ 2 draft which changes, but lately it has been rolling rock. We had just moved into a nearby apartment when the bruins were in the playoffs and our cable was not set up yet so we went here for most of the games. There was a friendly local crowd who was very much into the games; I also went for Monday night football this week & they had the game on. Like the other reviewer said they only have a forman grill so food options are limited, to burgers, grilled cheeses, deli sandwiches & soups. The bartenders are great, very friendly; when we were in often for the bruins games she recognized us from on our second visit on. Would be 4 stars, but what bar, especially one with«Sports Pub» in it’s name is closed on Sundays?

Don’t go to this bar to meet people. Don’t go to this bar for a wide selection of craft beers. Don’t even go to this bar to actually watch sports(they are, of all things, closed on Sunday?). This bar is where you go if you want some cheap drinks with a bunch of friends and you’re on a budget. It’s small and decidedly townie, but the bartenders are nice(one of the guys has tattoos on his forearms saying«Waltham» and«Mass») and the drinks — as other reviewers have mentioned — are cheap. That and the jukebox and darts keep this place fun. Sports really doesn’t seem to be the focus here, but that’s fine, other than the name, no one seems to think much of it. Yeah, the Bruins or Sox are on like anywhere else and no one will stop you from watching a game. There just won’t be much cheering and I’m not even sure their t.v.s are in HD. My advice, go here with 3 – 5 friends, a couple bucks and take over the jukebox for the night. Just keep in mind it’s a townie bar and don’t play any Kei$ha or trendy trashy pop in general or ask for some obscure gluten-free West coast craft beer or a chardonnay and you’ll be fine.

We just moved to Waltham and checked this place out last weekend. From the outside, they look like a total dive, but the inside is nice and the bartender took care of us right away. They have $ 2 Bud draughts, which kept us there all night. Despite being Saturday night, it wasn’t crowded at all. My friends and I easily got a table and talked without having to shout over other people or obnoxiously loud music. Bonus: when I got home, I discovered that my Commuter Rail pass had fallen out of my pocket. I called the WSP, and the bartender had found it after we left. I rushed back and she handed it to me as soon as she saw me, despite the fact that she was busy closing up.

Whoa now! WSP is legit, I def. would advise you to check it out at least once. There is not much of a scene there so bring your own crew. It is a no frills bar that has $ 1 drafts if I remember correctly, AND had Busch/Busch light on draft which is HUGE in my book, a must have! Food is minimal, they have a George Foreman grill so they are limited to burgers and such, they are nothing special but good once you’ve swilled down too many $ 1 beers. A decent place to jam out if you bring the party with you and want to get mangled on the cheap! Beware of townies…
