Found a hair in my Mongolian Beef. And she said it was part of the hot sauce and snatched it up and went into the kitchen really fast. I lost my appetite. It was definitely a hair. I did not get a refund or a credit. And I really liked their Mongolian Beef until this happened. She should have owned up to the hair, but she decided to hide it then run. I know stuff happens, but at least be truthful to a loyal customer.

We drove 15 minutes to dine here based on previous reviews. I’m not sure what has happened but it was disappointing. The po po platter had doughy under cooked egg rolls. The crab Rangoon was imitation crab chunks. The fried won tons were awful. The beef appetizer was very chewy and had an odd flavor. The hot and sour and won ton soup was good though. The owners were very nice. The carpet was very dirty and matted. Sad to say we will not be back.

I had already tried the other Chinese place in town and the set up at the other was so strange and not much seating. I was happy to see a bigger area to sit and it was much cleaner in apperance. The food tasted okay and was about the same as the other location but I would definatly pick this one over the other.

First visit for us. on Father’s Day. The moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and this continued for our entire meal. Even the gentleman who was the cook came out to ask us how we liked our meal. The food was great… fresh, not overcooked and limp. I had the lo mein, and my husband had the egg foo yung) I cannot wait to go back again to sample more!

Chong Yang is one of the best Chinese take out restaurants to which I’ve been. I’ve had quite a few of the menu items there, ranging from pork chow mein to the cashew chicken. All of their food is delicious: the vegetables are crisp and the poultry/meat/seafood is succulent and juicy. The flavor is spot-on every time we frequent the restaurant. The service is outstanding: polite, efficient and helpful. I love going to Chong Yang because I know that I can consistently count on receiving top-notch food for ridiculously great prices.

I concur completely with the review of Elijah M. We have nothing but good things to say about the food and the service at this restaurant. We have been there a number of times(some times with our whole family of 17) and could not have been happier. We are from Chicago and have not found any Chinese restaurant there whose food is better.

My parents live Walworth and order take out for lunch and Elijah review is spot on lunch specials so much food entrée, egg rolls & the soup all big portions. Mongolian beef was fave, the orange chicken was ok & the lo mein was best ever had. The only reason not give 5, we order take out for dinner on Saturday night, there no dinner specials kind like to see them offer lunch specials on weekends since on sat& sun they don’t open til 4pm maybe up charge dinner 2 dollars or so. I might suggest it next time I’m in there this family place & need to support local business very nice people hope this place makes it. If you are in the area esp during lunch please stop in good food & great friendly family owners.

Tucked away in a little strip mall by the stop sign on the east side of Walworth’s east side, this place opened seven months ago and despite going by it regularly, we just noticed it and gave it a try. The place is operated by the same people who had a Chinese restaurant in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin. Twin Lakes took a loss, but Walworth should do what they can to make this place survive. They are open from 11 am to 9 pm(noon on Sundays) and they do not take checks, but accept most plastic and cash. The restaurant is small with six booths and two tables for six. It is immaculate from front of the house to back and has a clean and crisp look without all of the traditional trappings seen in many hole in the wall places. They leave the kitchen door open and it is you can eat off the floor clean. First thing you need to know is that portions are huge — not large, but huge. The prices are as low as you can get without giving it away. The Popo appetizer tray comes with crab rangoon that has real crab in it, hand made egg rolls with pork and fresh veg, butterflied shrimp, fried won tons with pork and scallions and a little hibachi to cook the rolled beef on a skewer. At $ 7.95 the appetizer was almost a full lunch for two. I am not a big fan of their BBQ pork as it is just sliced pork from a tenderloin tale with very minimal BBQ or smoke flavor. They do a lunch special for $ 4.95 that can easily feed two with choices of sweet sour or egg drop soup, an egg roll, plain or fried rice and your entrée. The sweet and sour chicken was crisp and obviously freshly cooked and hand breaded with a great sweet and sour sauce served on the side. The egg foo young is to die for, perfect in every sense with lots of fresh bean sprouts, your choice of beef, chicken or shrimp. I had the shrimp and it was full of nice sized shrimp that were tasty and fresh. The gravy is not the typical canned stuff you find at most places, but a freshly prepared gravy and a very large bowl of white rice. The hot and sour soup is the best I have ever had, even in hole in the wall places in China, Hong Kong and Hawaii that have great food. It is packed with all the right stuff from sprouts, freshly sliced Shitake mushrooms, tofu and shredded pork. A little of a hot pepper tang to it, but it was fantastic and a very large bowl comes with the $ 4.99 lunch specials. On a return visit I had the Mongolian beef. An excellent cut of meat that rivaled NY strip steak, fresh scallions and onions. They said it is «spicy,» but it was just tasty and I wouldn’t shy away from it if you prefer less spice. The egg drop soup has lots of egg and is served in a large bowl. If you are one of those people who think Chinese food is only chop suey or chow mein, you are in luck. Both dishes are served here and they are the best one can find. Fresh veg and chicken, beef or shrimp that is plentiful and tasty. The place sparkles with cleanliness, there is fresh, home made duck sauce, hot mustard and toasted sesame in sesame oil is on every table, along with soy sauce. No little packets of garbage, great food. A true diamond in the rough, this place is exceptional. They do everything to go and they box up your left overs in the kitchen. Pleasant and attentive service that was exceptional made our visit the best. A wide selecton of beverages in the can and iced tea made the way it should be with as many fresh lemon slices as you like. They also bring ice water to your table and fill your glasses as often as needed. Order things to go during your lunch, you won’t regret trying something different from lunch for dinner. My third visit here in two weeks and I am taking friends for lunch who all fell in love with the place. It is hard to go here and not get items to go to enjoy tomorrow. The husband and wife team do their best with English, but if their son is around, he is a university student and a wealth of information about their concepts and food philosophy.
