I like the simplicity of the Dollar General. And it seems like there’s one on every corner. What they lack in style and merchandizing, they make up for in shopping ease. You’re not going to come in for a couple of things and leave with a full buggy, as is the norm at a big box store. I can get what I need, in and out in a jiffy, without feeling like I’m trapped in a time warp and spending too much money. Prices are competitive with, if not better than, at other places. They also change up their items based on season, so you can usually find the specifics that you need. They also have a store brand, which I’ve found to be effective at a good price. I can’t complain at all about DG.
