Had a great time with my GF. Our guide was great: very friendly, and professional. She let us take our horses to a canter (since I was a more experienced rider, and my GF was new but willing to try). Reasonable prices, great staff.

My wife surprised me with an hour of horseback riding at C&L for my birthday. I have to say I was a little nervous at first, but it was an amazing experience. Our tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable and patient. My wife was also a little scared at first, but she too became very comfortable within a few minutes. I highly recommend C&L for a great horseback riding experience.

Excellent trail riding experience, caters to all levels. Went for a ride with my boyfriend and cousin, both intermediate riders, while I’m advanced. We did the 1.5 hour beach cove ride. It was only $ 45, a complete steal compared to Newport Equestrian Academy, which quoted us $ 100 each for a lesser ride with only walking on a road near the beach.
At C & L stables everyone was very friendly and professional. The horses were in great shape and very clean and well cared for. We had a private guide at no extra cost who was friendly and knowledgeable. She took us walking, trotting, and cantering through the scenic and quiet trails of Goddard Park and onto a beautiful long stretch of beach around the cove. The horses were safe, but energetic and happy to be out on the ride. Perfect in every respect!
Tip: Ask for Cathleen if you can she was a terrific guide!

My girlfriend and I did a trail ride here in late October. It was an EXCELLENT experience. The guide was friendly, the horses were calm, and the staff was pleasant. They were running a little short staffed so we had to wait a bit past our reservation time to get started, but it was well worth the wait. If you’re looking for a trail ride in the middle part of the State and do not want to pay the ridiculous prices of Newport, give C & L a shot — you won’t be disappointed!
