Been going here since I was 10… I always stop in when I’m back to visit RI. The fellas do a perfect job, even though they’re yankee fans…

I’ve only been here a few times but it’s always consistent and very clean. The wieners are tasty and the fries are hot and plentiful. Cash only but it’s an old school type of place

The food was delicious. I’m from Maine, where we don’t have Weiners. The staff suggested I get them, «all the way.» It was a great choice. I also had the coffee milk. In Maine, we could buy pre-made coffee milk. Here, they mix milk with a coffee syrup. It was very good. The staff was friendly and helpful with having me experience a Rhode Island food staple. I highly recommend Sam’s New York System. The only drawback, they are a cash only establishment. It was definitely worth going out to get cash.

We love Sams. It’s our go to when we want to cheat and have cheese fries. My husband is loyal to the ny systems all the way. I mix it up. Never had anything I wasn’t unhappy with. They make their own coleslaw which is yummy! The fries are fried to order and amazingly crispy and hot. Get them with cheese sauce! We love this place and such nice guys!

As a typical RI’er, we wanted to find a wiener joint closer than heading to Olneyville. After reading some reviews, decided Sam’s was the place to try. Less than 2 miles away, can’t beat that– natives! These wieners(and I love that word) are pretty damn tasty! I’m not a fries gal, but those were soft and yummy, not the least bit burnt! Ordered mine all the way! A bit pricey inflation is what it is, so no more dollar wieners! We will be back!

I don’t live in Rhode Island anymore, but when I come home I try to partake in the«only in RI» things and weiners are right at the top of the list. We tried Sam’s New York Systems. Very delicious weiners and sweet potato fries. I will be coming back the next time I am in town.

While Olneyville NYS is the OG, and is a pilgrimage every Rhode Islander needs to make, Sam’s is my number 1 spot for hot wieners in RI. Just up the street from my parents house, it’s a quick drive there and back so my car doesn’t have the wiener smell in it for years. The dogs are a bit smaller at Sam’s, which makes it way easier to put down 5+ all the way at a time. I don’t mind that it’s cash only, in fact they’re the only restaurant that I’ll make an ATM stop for. The only negative about Sam’s is all the Yankees/NY Giants crap on the walls. But don’t let that deter you. I first tried them in their original building before the plaza burned down years ago, and I was one of the first in line the day the reopened just across the street. If you find yourself in Warwick, whether it be just passing through, or just landing at TF Green, Sam’s is a great spot to check out.

I’ve lived in RI all my life. Throughout my childhood I heard people talk about wieners. And I would giggle… Then when my SO called them GAGGERS. Well, that made me giggle even more. But there’s nothing funny about them. After living two decades in this wiener obsessed state, I tried my first one HERE at Sam’s. It was like onion topped meaty mustardy heaven on a bun! I like my gaggers«all the way.» I can’t compare these gaggers to other places, as I’ve only come to Sam’s since. But I’m addicted. The only downside is that they’re closed Sunday’s AND it is CASHONLY!

This is a very special review for me. Not only is it my 100th review(Yea!!!) it is also my 1st review as an Elite Unilocaler !!! Rah, rah, rah !!! I am currently visiting my home state of Rhode Island. When«home» I always seek out my RI favorites. Newport, maple walnut ice cream, coffee syrup, and of course, hot wieners!!! What is a weiner you ask? Well, it’s a very small, orangey colored«hot dog». This delicacy is served on a steamed bun(so it’s hot and soft) and it’s a MUST to order it «all the way» which means it has yellow mustard, chopped raw onion. a meat sauce, and sprinkled with celery salt. Mmmmmm. heaven on a roll !! And Sam’s makes them pretty darn good. I also ordered some fries for my grandson and they were pretty good, very creamy, not at all dry & hard. Years ago, in a good weiner joint(it is NEVER a nice restaurant, but a dive, as is Sam’s. A few tables and a few seats at a counter) the guy making the wieners used to line the buns up his arm so that he had about a dozen of them lined up his hairy arm. Ewwwwwww… not at all It was a marvel… and we loved to see how many he could do at one time. I’m sure the department of health put a stop to this because I do not see that happen any more. :-( I have no doubt that every time I visit my son, I will come to Sam’s. Cost me $ 10 for 3 wieners and a medium order of fries. Bring cash! I guess that’s pretty good, but I remember when they were $ 1 each! They will give you one free one if you order 6 however. So if two of you go and get wieners, it’s easy to eat six because these are small dogs! But I LOVE them !!!

WOW!!! My wife introduced me to Sam’s. I have traveled the US and this family run NYsystem style dog is awesome. The place is kept so clean, and the food is all fantastic. The best hot dog I have ever had. We go as often as possible, oh and the hamburgs are flame grilled and really great. Really good fresh fries.

Fish & chips, onion rings were all greasy. Also got hot weiners. Only things freshly made were frozen fries & rings. Fish was already battered & cooked, then thrown in fryer to crisp up. Cole slaw was just cabbage w/dressing, no carrots. ~20 weiners were on a griddle, just sitting there sizzling. If you like your stomach, stay away.

I go to Sam’s once a week for my wiener fix. The 2 guys that work there are both very cool and make the food fast. Cash only, which is fine because there are 2 banks located within 100 feet. Plenty of parking, too. Their onion rings are insane, especially if you get a side of ranch with them. The inside of the place is nothing special, which always tells me that the food speaks for itself. ANDITDOES. LOUDANDCLEAR.

Terrible…;they don’t take credit or debit, they’re extremely over priced and they’re never ever open… it’s a Sunday @ 1pm in the midst of the NFL season and they are closed… terrible, I hope a real wiener place opens up nearby cause this place is horrible

My family is from Rhode Island, but I was born & raised in San Diego. Whenever he go back to RI, we have to get hot wieners. Sam’s was recommended to us by my uncle and a cousin. We were not disappointed. Sam’s was absolutely delicious and I’ll be back next time I’m in RI!

I give the home-made onion rings five stars. Period. I give the wieners 4.0 stars. The best we’ve had recently. The counter guy was good to us too, even if the guy is a Yankees fan, which shows everywhere in the shop. Menu looks real good, and we’re coming back for other stuff. If you are a Yankees fan, you should go here on principle. We have been to three wiener places this week, me, Andres and Omar. We agreed that Sam’s was better than the last batch we got in Olneyville. Hard to find, so if you look for the Subway Sandwich on Sandy Lane, you can find this place. It’s in the wedge of stores between Sandy Land and West Shore Rd as you’re heading to the ice rink, and then it’s immediately on your right. We spent 45 minutes just looking for the place.

Good food if you can stand the scenery Sam’s is a relatively small place, just a few tables and a counter with a limited menu. I suspect a lot of people order food here for take out. The meals are good and inexpensive. Not a lot to choose from but what they make they make well. Hamburgers, cheeseburgers, grilled cheese, chicken sandwiches, hot wieners, and of course fish and chips comprise they majority of the menu. Some appetizers like wings, mozzarella sticks and jalapeño poppers are available but that’s pretty much it. You take what they have or you go somewhere else. The portions are quite generous for the price and the food is consistently good. I guess when you make the same few things over and over you get pretty good at it. This definitely isn’t heath food but it fills you up and certainly isn’t deceptive. This place is exactly what it looks like. The service is quick and to the point. Not a lot of amenities or irrelevant platitudes. Here’s your food, shut up and eat it. Not rude or unpleasant, just New York efficient. People come here for the food not the socializing. A pretty cool and cheap place to go if you’re in the mood for a quick burger or some fish and chips. Just be warned, it is a New York place. That means the décor is New York and of course that means the inevitable shitty Yankee pictures will be hanging from the walls. Not just pictures but in this case posters. Huge posters. I can see why most people take the food to go. Sitting under a huge poster of Derek Jeter or A-Rod definitely can take your appetite away. Good food if you can stand the scenery
