I was returning from Lake Sakakawea and stopped for breakfast at the first restaurant I saw along the highway. It was Sunday morning so they were very busy with locals dressed in their Sunday best and people travelling down the highway. Some locals were celebrating some guys 87th birthday and even invited me to enjoy a piece of birthday cake(only in rural America). I ordered 2 eggs over easy and French toast which seemed to be a safe choice. The coffee was as good as any truck stop coffee I have enjoyed. The eggs were well eggs and cooked as requested. The French toast was very good, thick, full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The place was spotless(including the bathroom) and the service was good even as busy as they were. The food was good and the serving size was adequate. I thought the prices were a little high for such a simple breakfast. I would eat here again if I return to the area next summer but I am not going out of my way.

The food was fine, but this was clearly a case of untrained staff being left to their own devices by apathetic management. Painfully slow service, no refills on drinks, incorrect billing, and nobody cared.

Really satisfying chicken fried steak with gravy. When I go to small diners, I tend to stick with breakfast, and it worked out great here. Plus free wifi. They call their fries«American» fries. But it’s Nortg Dakota. What can you expect?

The food was not that good. I had knefla soup and fleischkuechle… you can find much better in ND but if you happen to be out this way you won’t find much of anything anywhere without a long drive. The waitress was not very warm, nor was she very attentive. I would not recommend this place unless you happen to be in the area in which there isn’t much else close. There is one place called the Harbor Inn which is probably a 35 minute drive(close by ND standards) which I would rather have.
