Store is on the small side, but they seem to have everything online in person. Store staff is very knowledgeable of their products and very accommodating. A sales person was able to recommend the correct color sole edge dressing for my Walnut Strands. This is my preferred Allen Edmonds store location.

First of all, the shoes speak for themselves. If you’re even thinking about buying AEs, I don’t have to say more. But here’s where this store also shines: …their return and exchange policy. No frustration and absolutely no hassles… these guys will help you out to make sure you have a positive experience. If you bought your shoe online and need a quick return or exchange, stop on by here and they’ll help you out. If The staff is incredibly friendly in person and over the phone. Business done right.

Great service from Albert. Helped me try on lots of shoes and was very knowledgable about their products.

The first problem was that they were out of most sizes on most shoes, which led to the salesman bringing me models I wasn’t interested in and swearing that they fit the same. Then he measured my foot but wouldn’t tell me the width. He brought me a pair of shoes that squeezed my feet like vices and promised they just needed breaking in. In all, I found the service to be rude and not especially customer-oriented.

I had a good but not great experience at Allen Edmonds. Their shoes, as far as I’m concerned are top notch but the gentleman that sold me my shoes seemed to be to busy talking with someone else in the store that had questions about obscure shoes than in helping me. I found it off-putting the other guy didn’t even buy shoes. When I’m dropping two days pay on a pair of shoes, I’d like for the experience to be a little better.

When I first walked in, I thought I had died and arrived in Heaven. Allen Edmonds shoes lined every corner of the store. Shoes that looked so-so online looked downright gorgeous in person. However, I also noticed how small the store is. It is REALLY small, but that doesn’t matter. You come here for quality shoes and salespeople who actually know what they are talking about. The service is impeccable, but you may have to wait. It took about ten minutes for me to be served, because the store was very busy. I was greeted by Freia, the store manager. She was one of the best salespeople I’ve dealt with. She really knows shoes, and her passion for her product is evident. I went to the store with the intent of inquiring about some of their clearance shoes, which are a good value. Despite the rather high start-up cost, Allen Edmonds last longer and look better than most other shoes out there. I decided on the Lubbock, a smart-casual monk strap shoe. Freia fitted the shoe to me to ensure that the 13D did in fact fit. It did, and of all the AE’s and other shoes I own, the Lubbock is the most comfortable, bar none. She also informed me of the store’s 50% sale on shoe care accessories, and $ 8 sock sale. I took advantage of both. I wholeheartedly recommend the Allen Edmonds store in DC. You’ll be treated excellently and hopefully find some shoes that you love. While it might be a curse or a blessing, the Allen Edmonds store is within walking distance from my new dorm at GW. I have a feeling I will be eating ramen for my college career…
