I love Kim so much!
She is by far the best when it comes to haircuts and pedicures. Her attention to detail is really unique in my experience. And she is such a great person to chat with and get to know as well :)
Like other reviewers have noted, she is temporarily at a salon called Last Tangle — 1146 19^th Street NW (19^th and M St.).
It is actually a pretty cool salon, and she has a great setup there including a private room for pedicures, which is really nice if you’re a little self-​conscious like me!
Call ahead to make an appointment, and go see her. She’s awesome.

Kim is still the best person ever to cut my hair. I just visited her today at her temporary new location while Beauty Tu You’s building is being renovated. She’s now at Last Tangle, at 1146 19^th St., near the corner of 19^th and M Sts. NW. Convenient to Farragut North and Farragut West Metro stations. I highly recommend her. If she’s been cutting your hair, go see her at the new place!

Kim is awesome. Her manicure-​pedicure leaves your feet feeling renewed. She is also a talented hair stylist. On top of it she is smart and sweet.

I walked in with one of my friends by coincidence back in 2011 to get my haircut for the first time in this neighborhood. Kim took such good care of my friend and I that we couldn’t stop going back. I have recommended Kim to all of my friends, and them as well, have been really satisfied with the attention and service.
I deeply recommend this place to everyone!

It is a great cut, and a great price, Angie is very attentive and loves what she does.

Margie has cut my hair for 26 years now, since she and Angie owned a salon called Personal Image around the corner on Belmont. She’s absolutely the best — careful, imaginative, knowledgeable. She’s also the best colorist I’ve ever visited, and half the price (or even less) of what you’d pay in a so-​called «upscale» salon, you’ll get your exceptional coloring. She knows her business, and, in addition, is an entirely warm, kind, and good-​hearted person. I have on several occasions, when I’ve been working out of town for two-​month stretches, flown back to DC to get Margie to cut my hair. I trust her entirely.

Kim gives the best pedicure in town and is very reasonable. I would never go anywhere else for a pedicure.
Manicure and waxing are also very good and reasonable

While munching on my julie empanada, I spontaneously walked in here to get my eyebrows did.
The beautician told me the wait was 10 minutes but I waited 20. When she finally got to me, the wax she used on my eyebrows was not hot enough so she had to repeatedly attempt to take the wax off. Also, whatever gel she used to soothe my skin, stung like a mother! I now have a pimple near my right eyebrow.
I never get pimples…

I RELUCTANTLY walk into this place for mani/​pedi after finding out my guy (never knew his name) at another spot (never knew the name) on Columbia Rd., NW went back to his country and won’t be back for another month.
I requested a hot-​parafin wax only to be told that the wax had to melt and would take too long. So I sit down for a pedicure, which was actually quite nice. She used some sort of sea scrub which eliminated the dead skin and it seemed as though my skin had a shine… like a car after she was done. I’m not gonna lie. I was a bit upset about the $ 7 more (for a mani/​pedi) than my fav. place so I was reluctant to get the combo but after she made my feet look so damn good I thought… why not?
To my dismay, her manicure was less than impressive. When I asked if I should have my cuticles cut or pushed back, she sounded real knowledgeable on what I should do (push back) However, she did neither. I’ve given myself better manicures. As a matter-​of-​fact, I had to re-​do my manicure after the polish started to peel the very same day!
How can the same woman do such an outstanding job in one area of my body and suck at another??? They’re both nails, just one’s toenails and the other fingernails… damn!
Don’t know if I’ll be back but if i do, it won’t be for a manicure!
