A unique fusion of French and Thai. The server was very attentive and nice and the food was 9⁄10. I think this is a great little restaruant and I reccomend it to anyone who likes pan Asian and French food. Very good overall .

The menu at this restaurant is diverse. I had pizza delivered and it was delicious and timely. I recommend them and the new owners!

I live in the Palisades and am so happy to see this restaurant in the neighborhood. I love the variety and the pleasant attitude of everyone who works there. Have tried salmon, cassoulet, trout, house made sausage, and pretty much everything on the«French» menu. They also have pizza, kabob, and a great take out menu. And, I’d love to try the brains, but my fellow diners aren’t as daring, yet. The chef /owner, Benoit is a very passionate guy. There is even outdoor seating for when the weather is warm, or slightly cool. If you’ve ever been to Bistro D’Oc downtown, you might notice some similarities :)

I will come back to try it during lunch time. The burger that i tried was not as good as should have been. A little dry. the décor has a nice feel to it

Had a great family dinner here on a Saturday night. We arrived late, about 45 minutes before the kitchen closed but they were fine with seating us. My wife had the roasted chicken special which she said was delicious. Although tempted by the great French menu, I went for sharing pizza with the kids. The pizza was actually unexpectedly great. I also had a house salad which, while very basic, was excellent. We split a couple of desserts. The profiteroles were among the best I have ever had. The pot au chocolat was great. The almond cake was good but not a standout. The common item among all of the items was the excellent and very flavorful ingredients. Even the lettuce in my salad seemed absolutely garden fresh. The service was also excellent.

Nice, comfortable place with decent food and attentive staff. We’ve been twice(lunch and dinner) and have been happy with everything we’ve ordered. Looking forward to going more often now that we’ve moved to Palisades, DC.

Decided to try something new with the family and this restaurant seemed like a good option. When we went it was pretty empty(always a bad sign on a Saturday night). The only plus was that is was quiet. Took a long time for our appetizer of escargot to come. The escargot was good. However, my main dish of the sausage(took a risk here) tasted like a hot dog. The food was just blah, service passable, over all disappointed and will not be returning.

Very delicious, reasonably priced French dinner. My party had the onion soup, the Brie and the pâté. All were very good, still leaving room for dinner. Among us we had the salmon, a steak & pizza. All were delicious and exactly as we ordered. Friendly staff, full bar. Go enjoy a night out!

Mostly, I’d just like to do this beautiful little restaurant a favor by «priming the pump» for the legions of glowing reviews that are sure to come. I notice I’m vaguely intimidated writing a review for a French restaurant — sure to be perused by crème de le crème foodies … My palate may not be the most educated, and yet I like to think it can discern good food from bad(an idiot savant my palate is!). And so, I can say with some confidence, this food is yum! *It* has confidence — delightfully artful(while simple) presentation, freshest ingredients, perfectly prepared to bring out the flavors, seduce me with creamy, silky, melty, crunchy textures — cuing peak orchestral ecstasy in my mouth. Do not roll your eyes, gentle reader, until you have experienced the wonder that is Bistroquet! About now(if you’ve made it this far) you may be wondering«what did she eat?» Well, let me tell you: not much yet, actually. But stopped in for lunch and tried 1) a duck(or goose?)-liver pâté(not seeing it on the online menu — but quite yum). 2) the«two poached organic eggs»(w/salmon, spinach, cream, gruyère) — amazing. 3) a special whose name I now escapes me(a bit like a pot roast?) w/melt-in-mouth texture, lovely flavors. Service was polite, helpful — I want to say«inspiring» and«kind.» It has the feel of a very promising new restaurant in which the staff’s own excitement about the place is palpable. Like other reviewers, I appreciate the atmosphere. I didn’t study it closely, but my memory is of wood(lot’s of it – in tables, chairs, and maybe walls?) and a feeling of spaciousness created by generous distance among the tables and by many large windows. I’ll be back.

We’ve come a few times for Sunday brunch. Food: Love the brunch menu. The first time we ordered the mushroom omelet, which comes with salad and fries. Delish. We love the crusty french bread and butter served with it, too. Second visit we had steak and omelet, which was also delicious. We tried the buttery croissant and belgian waffle — delish. The food is elegantly prepared and served, and management goes above and beyond to make your experience good. I’m perplexed by other reviewers who don’t understand the menu. French dude gets together with a Thai dude-ette and they make magic. Have you ever dipped french bread in green chicken curry? Heaven! Ever since the French crashed the Vietnamese party, Vietnamese people have used crusty French bread to dip in their curry instead of rice. Imagine that! Hey, you got your peanut butter in my chocolate! Get it? There are people out there who can make magic like that and you’ve got the chance to get in on it, so do it! Open your horizons, just like you did when you tried Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. Wine menu: Really good! Well-priced. We had wine with our brunch on both visits and were not disappointed. Both times we ordered a white wine and they provided us with an ice cooler at our table, which we appreciated. Service: Impeccable. So friendly! They know how to treat a customer. Prices: Fair! The food they serve is not cheap for them. Everything is expensive these days, especially good cuts of meat. I’m happy to pay $ 18 for steak and egg omelet brunch. If one wanted to pay $ 12 for steak and eggs, one needs to dine at Denny’s. It is very expensive for a restaurant to survive in their first year — striking a balance between prices and quality is a fine art and these guys do it really well. I appreciate the quality of food, the fair prices, and the exceptionally friendly service(which is rare on MacArthur Blvd). A side note: On Sundays we drive from VA to MacArthur Blvd to enjoy the restaurants and a nice walk after. Listranis was pure shit and needed to go. Glad to see Bistroquet there. Just saying, if I’m coming back two weekends in a row instead of, say, heading over to Black Salt(A+), Et Voila(they make a nice omelet and salad, have a nice wine menu, but the service is 100% asshole), Bambu(hit or miss with food, inauthentic Thai), Kotobuki(good sushi, packed, long wait for a table for four, indifferent service), Figs(stay-at-home moms meet-up central, no thanks), DC Boat House(yes!), Sur La Place(like Et Voila, good food and asshole service), then you know this place is good!

Our party of three was sadly disappointed with our dining experience, from the food to the service. We were of course looking forward to it, given the great reviews. FIrst, the wine was either off or nearly so — do NOT order Domaine de Lascours. FIrst of all, it was BROWN, not red — really. And it tasted too vinegary. When tasting it, we mentioned to the waiter that it seemed off and he said he could get the manager. We just let it breathe for a long while and drank it — the wine expert(it was his CAREER) at the table said it was just on the verge of turning, that we could have gone either way. Manager did not come over to inquire. First questionable thing about the meal. The crab soup was OK but the escargots lacked garlic(!) in the butter/parsley sauce … couldn’t taste any garlic at all. It’s literally the ONLY time I can ever recall the butter not getting sopped up with bread. The crab soup was pretty good but there were some somewhat rubbery things in it — not crab, which you could taste but not see — best guess is fish and/or mushrooms, I believe. We did not have soup spoons and since the service had already been slow and confused, I actually got up and went to ask for some. I believe I asked the manager(actually he’s the owner!), who replied«You have them on your table already.» Seriously? WRONG. Why would I get up to ask for soup spoons if we already had them — what kind of customer service is that?! He brought them but didn’t apologize. And it didn’t get better. It seemed our waiter was being checked up on constantly by the manager, and neither provided good service. The coq au vin was OK. We inquired if in fact there was NO steak frites on the menu but rather than just saying, correct, we don’t have steak frites they pointed out another steak on the menu. The peppercorn steak — clearly ordered with the peppercorn on the side — arrived with it slathered on the steak. When we mentioned it, the owner/manager basically told us we were wrong. OK … so we’re idiots for the second time at dinner — yet both times correct. I got a chicken curry with rice that was OK, but recommend you go to Bambu across the street if you want Thai. Dessert was not memorable — literally. Sorry to say, since we are in the neighborhood, that none of the three of us plans to return.

Much better than the always-jammed Et Voila nearby. For a birthday dinner, we had onglet steak with DELICIOUS Lyonnaise potatoes, fillets of salmon and trout, and duck confit. Everyone loved everything. Unlike many other D.C. restaurants, it was quiet enough to happily speak to each other. The two glasses of wine our party got were excellent — a Cotes du Rhone and a Sancerre. I wonder if this restaurant wouldn’t get a few more patrons if it dimmed its lights a bit and added candles and jazz on the stereo(Jack Johnson in a fine French restaurant?). Given the food quality I’d have expected it to be packed.

Bistroquet is a delicious addition to the neighborhood. We’ve been eating at the parent restaurant — Bistro d’Oc — for more than 10 year’s and the owner’s foray into a Palisade expansion does not disappoint. It still tastes like mom and dad are in the kitchen dishing up my favorite French classics like streak frites, duck confit and ratatouille. We will be back!

What a great addition to the neighborhood! This charming restaurant serves Thai inspired French cuisine. I had a curry with the best lamb I’ve ever had. The house made chutney is delish. The salmon with lobster sauce was excellent as well. The service was prompt and friendly. I recommend highly! Enjoy the food, ambience and treat yourself to dessert.

I haven’t been to the restaurant but I just got a delivery and I am very happy. I would have to say that this is the best delivered food I have had at my door step since moving to the Palisades 7 years ago. Food was delivered hot within 30 minutes at 7:30 on a Thursday night. Cheese pizza, cheeseburger sub, French fries and fresh linguini all cooked and delivered just right. Delivery menu, which arrived in my mailbox 2 days ago, is limited but has a little bit of something for everyone’s appetite.

We’ve now eaten at Bistroquet several times and have enjoyed it every time. The food is excellent, the service is very, very good, and it has a nice ambiance. I don’t find the prices out of whack with the quality of the food because everything we have eaten has been very fresh and tasty. I can highly recommend Bistroquet. We certainly want them to succeed, but it scared me to see«new and hot» by their listing. I really like that I can call a couple of hours before we want to eat and still get a table.

I arrived with high hopes for this new neighborhood restaurant – and left very underwhelmed. I adore French food and I’m a fan of Thai. But really, what is this restaurant all about? The menu is a mish-mash of seemingly odd entrees. Prices are out of whack with quality. I’d much prefer to go to an authentic French restaurant or an authentic Thai restaurant. I’m not in a hurry to return to Bistroquet. No merci.

We went with 6 of us and had a fantastic dinner. I can’t recommend this place enough. We started with the smoked trout appetizer and the fois gras pâté — both were great and I’d highly recommend the smoked trout. We all got various entrees and everyone was more than pleased. Check out the pictures to take a look!

I had lunch at Bistroquet on September 25, 2014 and it was fantastic. They are in the location of the old Listranis that was in the Palisades. The father is the chef and the son is the front of house man. Very authentic French food and French setting.
